Chapter 1852

“I can identify with Mr. Lewis.”

Camryn said softly, “He suddenly met with an accident and hurt his legs. Now, he’s unable to stand up.

It’s normal that it takes a while for him to come to terms with it. His case is considered fine. Many

people do extreme things when they can’t accept the fact that they become disabled.

“I almost died back then. When I woke up, all I saw was darkness. I heard Aunt Evelyn’s voice, so I

asked her whether it was nighttime and why the lights were off.”

As Camryn recalled the time she had just gone blind, she was so calm that it was as though she was

describing someone else’s story.

“Aunt Evelyn said it was daytime. The sun was bright, and there was no need to switch on the lights.

She was frightened shortly. She kept asking me if I could see anything, and I said all I saw was

darkness. She quickly called the doctor… I turned blind. She wept while hugging me.

“It felt like the end of the world for me. All I could see was darkness, and it made me feel anxious. Not

being able to see anything left me feeling insecure and scared…”

Camryn smiled. “Let’s put that aside. It’s all in the past. I’ve gotten used to living in darkness.”

“Is the new semester starting soon?” Camryn suddenly asked Callum.

“Yes. Do you want to meet Trenton?” Trenton was accepted by Barnett University, but the university

was far from Wiltspoon. Camryn was concerned that her brother had to study in such a far place.

However, she believed that her brother was independent and tough. He could take good care of

himself, so she did not need to worry.

Nevertheless, the relationship between Camryn and Trenton had soured.

Trenton and Aunt Evelyn discussed Camryn and Callum’s marriage with the Yorks. After Camryn and

Callum held their engagement party, Trenton refused to return home or meet Camryn.

“I guess he still holds a grudge against me, that’s why he doesn’t want to meet me.”

Camryn sighed.

She thought she was not bothered about her brother’s indifference toward her. Over time, Camryn still

hoped that she could have a talk with her brother before he returned to university.

Sadly, her brother refused to meet her.

She tried to look for him a few times, but it was fruitless. She stopped looking for him then.

“Let me go and meet him with you. He’s currently staying at Wiltspoon Hotel.”

Callum had been keeping watch of his brother-in-law’s move. Trenton was merely a teenager. He

would not be able to escape Callum’s grasp.

“Isn’t he staying at his classmate’s house?”

Camryn was surprised. She was under the impression that Trenton was still at his classmate’s house.

Did he hate her so much?

“He can’t possibly stay in his classmate’s house forever. He has stayed at Wiltspoon Hotel since last

Monday, but he chose the cheapest room. I think he chose Wiltspoon Hotel to avoid your cousins from

disturbing him.”

Even though the Chandlers and Joyners dared not cause trouble for Camryn anymore, they were

jealous of her. What made them extremely jealous was that a blind could actually marry a man from the

Yorks.

Therefore, the Chandlers and Joyners tore Camryn and Trenton apart. They planned to make use of

Trenton to deal with Camryn. Camryn was merciless toward them but she was merciful toward Trenton.

Who knew she had been protective of him since he was young.

Camryn’s pretty face turned cold, and she said indifferently, “They still won’t give up!”

Callum held her hand and lifted it. Then, he put it by his lips and kissed the back of her hand.

“They’re jealous because you have me.”

Callum looked at his fiancée with burning eyes. With a low and affectionate voice, he said, “Honey, I’ll

make everyone admire you just like my sister-in-law.”

While speaking, he wanted to kiss her on the lips.

Camryn promptly pushed him away and covered his mouth. Blushing, she reminded him, “They’ll benovelbin

back in a bit.”

Her shop assistants went out to deliver flowers. They should be back soon.

Callum turned his head and looked at the entrance of the shop. Sure enough, he saw a shop assistant

coming back on an e-bike. Deep down, he thought gloomily, ‘Why must she come back at this time?’

The shop assistant messed up his plan!
