Chapter 1786

Chapter 1786

With the hospital release paperwork all done, Duncan sat ina wheelchair while his bodyguard wheeled

him downstairs.

Having found out that Duncan was getting discharged, Duncan’s sister-in-law laid aside the matters at

hand and hurried over to pick him up.

Since there were a lot of people fussing over Duncan, and Duncan was under the bodyguards’ care,

Liberty wanted to deal with her own stuff. She told Mrs.Lewis, "Mr.Lewis is getting out of the hospital,

and you have a lot of people at home to look after him.I won't go with you then.My newly acquired

restaurant is under renovation now, so I want to check on it."

Mrs.Lewis wanted Liberty to come along to the house as Duncan would hold back a little on the

tantrum when Liberty was around.

Noticing the weariness across Liberty’s face, Mrs.Lewis felt bad and replied, "We can take care of

Duncan, Liberty.Go on with your work, but don’t work too hard. The last few days must have been

draining on you."

She took Liberty's hand and thanked her again and again.

"Mrs.Lewis, we all wish for Mr.Lewis to get better. What's a bit of tiredness if Mr.Lewis could bounce

back? Mrs.Lewis, I got to go."

Mrs.Lewis let go of Liberty's hand.

Liberty held her son’s hand and said goodbye to Mrs.Lewis before leaving the hospital with Sonny. It

was close to dusk by the time Serenity returned to the city.

She went to her sister’s rented place.

Using the house key given to her by her sister, Serenity unlocked the door and entered the house to

find Sonny watching cartoons in the living room.

She closed the door and cried, "Sonny."

With his aunt here, Sonny tossed the remote control aside and got up to run to Serenity.

Serenity held her nephew and spun around in circles.

The aunt and nephew enjoyed a good laugh.

Liberty emerged from the kitchen with food. She uttered with a smile, "Good timing, Seren.I just made

dinner.Wash your hands and get ready to eat."novelbin

"I’m lucky.I got a whiff of the food before getting into the house. What did you cook, Liberty?"

Serenity put Sonny down and took Sonny to the kitchen to wash their hands.

Noticing the two plates of food that were still in the kitchen, Serenity washed her hands and took a bite

out of the food. She fed some to Sonny too.

Liberty walked in to find the aunt and nephew stealing food in the kitchen.

Amused, she said, "Can’t you have dinner at the table? Seren, you’re not a child. You’re married, for

heaven's sake.It will be all over the news if people see you like this."

As Mrs.York, Serenity’s every move was watched.

Every little thing she did was put under a microscope.

If it were not for Zachary’s protection, Serenity would come under fire from all sides.

"I’m in your place.I have to put on a mask in public, but I can be myself here in your space.Nobody will

know even if I grab my food with my bare hands."

Serenity shrugged it off.

Although Serenity did not behave any differently after finding out that Zachary was the heir of the York

family, Serenity found herself hiding behind a mask in public. She only showed her best side to

outsiders.

Only at her sister's place could Serenity let her guard down and take away the pretense.

Serenity could be herself, feeling free and unrestricted.

Liberty brought the cutlery out and asked, "Did you just arrive? Did you go to the office?"

"I just got here.I was held up in traffic on my way back."

Serenity led her nephew out.

"Remy took Elisa out for a romantic candlelight dinner once we were back in the city.Zachary has a

business dinner tonight.Mr.Bucham cuts back on the socializing now that Jas is pregnant, so the

workload falls on Zachary."
