Chapter 1619

The news about what happened to Wilfred spread throughout Brimmopolis the next day. Everyonewas talking about the fact that he got sent back to jail the same day he was released and becauseof that, the Lieberman was finished.

Everyone also agreed that the General was as intimidating and powerful as ever!

Meanwhile, Clifford and Boris were playing chess in the gazebo at the Cabinet.

Clifford placed a black chess piece on the board while asking casually, “Mr. Tucker, have you heardabout what happened to Wilfred?”

Boris replied placidly, “I've heard a little about it as everyone seems to be discussing it. Seems likeWilfred wanted to avenge his son right after he got released from jail and sent men to attackNathan's family. However, I don't think he would have ever expected to be sent back to jail becauseof that. Furthermore, this has also caused the downfall of the Lieberman family.”

Clifford nodded and replied, “It's such a pity indeed. Wilfred was also once regarded as a figure ofinfluence. We have thought that his release would pose a threat to Nathan Cross. Who knew that hewasn't that man's match at all and was defeated so easily. It seems like we've overestimatedWilfred's abilities.”

Boris answered, “Or rather, we have underestimated Nathan Cross. Since his base camp is at theNorth, we have assumed that no matter what, Wilfred would still be more powerful than him inBrimmopolis. However, we did not expect Will and Hailey to come to Nathan's assistance. That wasthe direct cause of Wilfred's final defeat.”

Clifford said, “Every new sovereign brings his own courtiers. Hansel is retiring soon. Besides, rightbefore his retirement, he suffered a stroke and has handed over all affairs to the Cabinet. I'm sureWill and Hailey, who belong to Hansel's administration, are feeling anxious about the uncertain

situation too. If I guessed it correctly, they must have pinned their hopes on Nathan and were tryingto help him so that he could be their new backing. As long as Nathan is still in power, they canremain under his protection and it's one way out for them.”

Boris nodded and agreed, “Indeed, when the new president takes over, he would definitely appointhis own men to take over the positions of the Commander of the Guardian Special Forces as wellas the Director of the Secret Service. Once Hansel retires, it follows that Will and Hailey's days areup. No wonder they are trying so hard to curry favor with Nathan Cross. They're probably hopingthat he will look after

their interests in the future.”

With Will and Hailey protecting Nathan Cross, it would be difficult for us to deal with him inBrimmopolis.

Boris replied, “It won't be easy but we have to do something. Whether we view it from a personalperspective or the big picture, we will definitely have to get rid of that man.”

Clifford frowned as he asked, “Who should we send to deal with him then?”

Boris narrowed his eyes and replied, “With Will and Hailey helping Nathan, obviously, we can'thandle the matter personally. As such, our best option would be to get an outsider to do it.”novelbin

Clifford was rather surprised with that proposition and asked, “Outsider? Who do you have in mind?”

Boris snickered and replied, “The best would be to get a foreigner for the task. Clifford, have youheard of the mercenary army, Armageddon?”

Clifford replied at once, “Of course, even though Armageddon isn't the largest mercenary army andis also not the most active, they are the most elite mercenary army in the world. Word was it thatwithin the recent ten years, the Armageddon had succeeded in all their missions but one.”

Boris replied, “Yup, three years ago, the vicecaptain led one thousand soldiers from theArmageddon and infiltrated the North in an attempt to kill Nathan Cross, General of the North. However, the mercenary army suffered a complete defeat instead. The vice-captain, along with thethousand soldiers, were all killed by Nathan Cross. That was the only time Armageddon failed in itsmission. From then on, Eurasia was considered a forbidden territory to

the mercenary armies.”

Clifford was confused and asked, “Mr. Tucker, did you bring up the Armageddon because... “

Boris replied with a grin, “Yup, I intend to make use of the Armageddon to get rid of Nathan Cross.”
