Chapter 1618

Wilfred paled upon hearing that!

He had just got out of jail earlier in the day and Nathan wanted him to get back there the same day.Furthermore, the Lieberman family had to retire from the scene completely.

It was impossible for Wilfred to accept any of those two options.

After taking a deep breath, he said, “Nathan, you're indeed very formidable. However, do you thinkit's possible for just yourself alone to wipe out our entire Lieberman family? I'm not going to agree toyour propositions, neither will anyone in my family agree. I believe that the authorities would notallow you to mess around in this manner too.”

Then, he ordered loudly, “Attack together! All followers, disciples and subordinates of our Liebermanfamily. Even though Nathan Cross is the God of War, we are going to kill the God today!”

“Kill the God!”

“Kill the God!”

“Kill the God!”

Members of the Lieberman family chanted in unison as they whipped out their weapons withmurderous intent, ready to charge at Nathan together.

Seeing that Wilfred had decided to resist till the end, Nathan got ready to take them on with Colinand the rest of his subordinates.

However, just then, deafening noises erupted from outside.

Numerous armored vehicles, military troop carriers, and a few jeeps made a dramatic appearance.

Both Nathan and Wilfred's sides stopped their actions and looked outside towards thoseunexpected visitors.

After the vehicles came to a halt, groups of armed soldiers dashed over and surrounded theLieberman family.

A smart-looking general got off from one of the jeeps. It was Will.

Will bellowed, “Move faster and surround the entire place! No one is allowed to leave. First andsecond-row soldiers, follow me inside!”

After Will gave instructions for his soldiers to surround the compound, he led two teams of soldiersand charged into the Lieberman

residence.

Everyone looked at Will dubiously as they were not sure of the reason he was there.

Is he here to break up the fight?Or is he here to help Mr. Lieberman? Maybe he's even here to helpNathan Cross?

Wilfred personally led a group of his subordinates and hurried over to greet Will.

If it was ten years ago, given his status, he would never have bothered to show any regard to theMajor-General.

However, times were no longer the same. As such he had no choice but to force a smile on his faceand asked, “Major-General Long, why are you here? Have you received the invitation I sent and arehere to attend my son's posthumous . on marriager

Will replied coldly, “You're overthinking. I'm an atheist and not interested in whatever posthumousmarriage you're holding for your son. I'm here to protect the General because I've heard that he is indanger.”

Wilfred flushed with anger as he heard what the man said, feeling extremely shocked.

Will ignored Wilfred and walked towards Nathan. With a salute, he said in a loud voice, “General, please forgive us for arriving late. We will accept any punishment.”

Nathan laughed and replied, “Why is Major-General Long here?”

Will smiled and replied, “Even though the President is ill, we can't allow lowlifes to do as they wish. Igot wind that someone is out to harm the General and I've specially come to protect you. General, how do you want to deal

with the Lieberman family?”

Wilfred and the rest of the Liebermans paled upon hearing that.

Filled with both anger and shock, Wilfred yelled, “Will, your duty is to protect Brimmopolis and youhave no right to meddle with the affairs between Nathan Cross and I. Don't you dare lay a finger onme!”

Right after he finished his sentence, a cold and authoritative woman's voice sounded from outside.“How about me? Do I have the right to meddle in your affairs?”

Everyone was startled once again as they turned to look toward the source.

It was Hailey, Director of the Secret Service. She strode into the house, leading a team ofsubordinates in suits.

The woman walked in front of Wilfred and said unemotionally, “Wilfred Lieberman, you're suspectedof kidnapping the commander's daughter and instigating an assault on the commander's familymembers. At the same time, you are also suspected of attempted harm to the commander. You'reofficially under arrest for being a threat to our national security. Congratulations for going back to jailthe same day you got released.”

Wilfred's face turned as white as a sheet when he heard his charges.novelbin

That was when he finally realized that times had changed. He was no longer a respected GreatCabinet member and just like what Nathan said, he was nothing.
