Chapter 1603

Hearing this, Quirrell nearly exploded with rage.

This was the first time he had met someone who dared to speak to him in this way.

When he spotted Nathan, Colin let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Trying to get up, he greeted Nathan in a low voice. “General!”

Nathan's gaze fell on Colin. When he saw how badly injured he was, he asked in a dangerous tone,“Are you alright?”

Colin tried his best to smile. “I won't die, at the very least.”

A ball of rage welled up within Nathan.

Although Colin was technically his subordinate, they had worked together for so many years thatthey were practically sworn brothers.

How could he stand seeing someone beat up his brother like that?

“What's going on?” he demanded.

In a low voice, Colin replied, “They laid a trap for me.

He then told Nathan about the events that had transpired just before he arrived.

Quirrell snickered loudly. “Hey, watch it. It was you who tried to get fresh with my younger cousinand beat up my friend. We were only trying to teach you a lesson.”

“And now you want to turn around and pin the blame on us?”

Here, he turned and looked at Nathan with a faint smile. “Nathan, I heard you have a reputation forgiving out fair judgment to everyone, including your closest friends.”

“Mr. Davier's daughter fell into your hands.

Without any consideration for Mr. Davier himself, you killed her immediately.”

“Now that one of your commanding officers has committed such a grave crime, shouldn't you kill afriend to uphold justice and do away with him?”

Nathan narrowed his eyes as he gazed at Quirrell. In a cold voice, he said, “I know who you are.You were once a very important figure in the South Army. People know you as Dragon in the South, and your real name is Quirrell Simmons.”

“You were born to be a hero. Why did you stoop to such low practices?”

“Quirrell, I'm afraid to say, you disappoint me.”

Quirrell's expression right now was very ugly.

“Don't you dare change the subject, Nathan.”

“One of your subordinates, the Captain of National Guards, beat up my friend and tried to sexuallyassault my cousin. You need to give me an explanation regarding this, at least.”

Nathan said coldly, “I'm not a fool, and neither are you. Drop the act and we can talk.”

“If I've guessed correctly, Mr. Davier must have sent you down to take revenge on me.”

Come right at me if you have the balls! What sort of man are you if you have to resort to beating upone of my men?”

Quirrell was a very haughty man. He believed himself to be Alexander the Great reincarnated, andas capable as the man of conquering and ruling his own empire.

He was very contemptuous of Nathan for the same reason. If he hadn't been removed from power afew years back, Quirrell would have become the God of War instead of Nathan.

However, the tables had turned, and Nathan was the one being contemptuous of him now. He evenmocked Quirrell for not being much of a man!

This was enough to make Quirrell explode with anger.

Furiously, he roared, “Alright, I'm not going to play with this dog of yours anymore. Let's talk, then.”novelbin

“If you can remain alive after taking ten of my

blows, I'll consider this case closed!”

In a perfectly calm voice, Nathan said, “One blow!”

Quirrell looked at him, feeling a little confused.

“What?”

“I'll deal you one blow,” Nathan replied evenly. “If you can get up on your feet after that, I'll let you offfor beating up my subordinate like that.”

What a preposterous man!

This is outrageous!

Quirrell laughed cruelly. “I've heard that the General of the North is arrogant and reckless. Well, Ifinally believe it now.”

“But I'd like to see for myself if you enjoy a false reputation.” As soon as he finished speaking,Quirrell lunged towards Nathan, moving so quickly that he was practically a blur.

Even when he was still a few feet away from Nathan, Quirrell had already shot off the ground andaimed a swift kick at Nathan's head.

To his surprise, Nathan merely took half a step backward and leaned back, causing Quirrell's foot tomiss his face by an inch.

Although he didn't manage to land a kick on Nathan on his first try, Quirrell immediately followed upwith another kick from his other leg. This time, he made sure to inject even more speed and ferocityinto it.

To his chagrin, Nathan dodged that as well.

In the end, Quirrell's kick merely landed on the cement slab of the parking lot.

Crash!

The concrete slab was thick enough for one's hands to encircle it, but Quirrell's kick sent itsplintering into half. The entire scene looked rather frightening.
