A few elite henchmen stood around them in a protective circle, while hundreds of bodyguards stoodto watch within Chamption Club.
Santiago lamented, “What a pity that Nathan and Penny managed to survive.”
Phoebe was bold enough to take action with Santiago earlier, but as things had escalated quickly,she was starting to fear the consequences.

Phoebe clenched her jaw. “Dad, he killed my fiance and made me a widow. My reputation in theupper class was torn to shreds. I need to kill him to avenge myself!”

Clifford sneered. “He can't find you? I received urgent information that Nathan found out about youand Santiago with the help of the Secret Service. Why do you think I'm calling you now, huh?”
“What?” Phoebe blurted out in surprise.
“In fact, Nathan's on his way to get you and Santiago,” Clifford revealed.
“Even if he suspects me and Santiago, he doesn't have any evidence, right?” Phoebe returned. “Idon't think he dares to punish us. We can sacrifice one of our subordinates if he demands anexplanation.”
“You've underestimated Nathan,” Clifford scoffed. “He's a killing machine. He doesn't need evidenceto kill you and Santiago. As long as he thinks you did it, you're dead to him.”
Phoebe was appalled after hearing his words.
Clifford gave her clear instructions. “You can't remain in Channing. I've arranged a private plane foryou. Leave and return to Brimmopolis right away. I can ensure your safety back here.”
At once, Phoebe escaped the club with Durand and her bodyguards through the backdoor. Shedidn't even bother to say goodbye to Santiago.
On the way to the airport, dozens of police cars and military vehicles sped past her vehicle, headingto Chamption Club.
A look of panic filled Phoebe's face.
She knew Nathan had indeed deployed the army to head to Chamption Club to get them.
In a trembling voice, she urged. “Durand, speed up. We need to leave this dangerous place
ASAP!”
