Cindy's pupils contracted. "Simon, of all people?"
She blinked and recalled Simon's behavior in their previous interactions. Indeed, the dude didn't seemtoo reliable, but neither did he appear to be hostile. I can't believe he killed his own mother.
The information didn't add up for Cindy, no matter how she thought of it. "Could it have been somemisunderstanding? Why would he go so far? Leah loved him, didn't she? And he only wanted Leah'smoney, so he shouldn't have a reason to kill her. It's easier for him to just get her money when she'salive, right?"
Aurora shook her head. "I'm not sure of the details. Who knows, maybe they were arguing aboutsomething, and then when Simon struck her, he accidentally killed her. Only the two of them knew whathad happened. Simon is arrested now, and he has also confessed that it was his doing."
Cindy's mouth was wide open. She didn't know what to say. Some things were entirely unexpected, butif one thought about it, it wasn't that impossible either. If she had to decide whether it was reasonablefor Simon to murder Leah, she would feel that it was. This is news! Good Lord!

Cindy lost her appetite in an instant. Even though she wasn't too involved with this incident, she wasstill shocked when she heard about it.
Cindy left the last few bites of food untouched, then cleaned up the container. "The police should bereleasing a statement soon. When that happens, all the discussions and guesses online should begone."
Aurora nodded. "This incident didn't have too much of an impact, either. I talked to Ian for a bit, and hedidn't seem to care."
This incident wasn't the only thing Ian was indifferent about. His contract was nearing its end, so hewas getting a little wilder and didn't care about many other things as well.
Cindy leaned against the chair and crossed her arms. "I never thought that the Morgan Family wouldcome to this."
Bryce was dead, and Leah was also killed by Simon. Of the three family members, only Sallyremained, but Sally was already far from home.
Such is life.
After sitting for a bit, Aurora got up. "I was surprised as well. Sometimes when I think about it, withthem being family and all, I really can't figure out who's in the wrong."
With that, Aurora went to wash up. Cindy cleared the dining table, then went back to her room andshowered as well. When everything was settled, she walked out and gave Ian a call. Because of therecent news, she felt a little shaken and wanted to hear his voice.
Ian was a little slow to pick up the phone, for he had just finished showering as well.
When Ian answered the call, she could hear a slight chuckle. "What's the matter? Why are you callingme so late at night? Did you miss me?"
Not interested in answering him, she demanded, "Have they released info on Leah's incident?"
Ian paused for a bit. "Yes, it's out. The murderer is arrested, and when all the evidence is confirmed,they should be able to proceed with the public prosecution and sentencing."
Cindy took a deep breath, then asked anyway, "So it really was Simon?" novelbin
Ian hummed affirmatively. "Yes. Quite the surprise, isn't it?"
"Exactly. I was shocked to the core," Cindy added hastily. "I thought it was a robbery at most, andmaybe someone robbed her out of desperation, then killed her in the end."
