Chapter 1716

Cindy quickly took the phone to check out the news and found that the number of views wasn’t quitehigh. In the news, someone reported seeing Ian and her at the entrance of the hospital, whichhappened to be where Bryce had been admitted to. Hence, that person speculated that Ian hadbrought Cindy to the hospital to visit Bryce.

The whole article was based solely on someone’s random statement without providing any concreteevidence.

Cindy raised her head and looked at Ian. “Is this the work of someone under the company’sinstruction?”

Ian took out his phone to browse the online news before shaking his head. “It doesn’t seem like it.” Hisgut feeling was that it was Sean’s doing. novelbin

If it was done by the company, instead of just launching a mini attack, they would have grabbed theopportunity to reveal everything that they had on hand. On top of that, based on the number of views, itdid not conform to the company’s usual style.

Therefore, Ian rose to his full height and stated, “Give me a minute. Let me make a call.” With that, hereturned to the room and directly called Sean.

Sean’s phone rang for a while before it was picked up. It was rather noisy in the background withshouts of males and females, and it was so rowdy that Ian couldn’t hear anything clearly.

Sean spoke in a low voice on the phone. “I’m occupied now. I’ll call you back later.”

Ian agreed and Sean immediately hung up.

Before the call was ended, Ian vaguely heard a woman shouting the words ‘last will’, which stunnedhim as he held the phone in his hand. Only three people from the Morgan Family would mention theword ‘last will’ in front of Sean.

However, that person had quite a high-pitched voice, probably because she was in a fluster when shespoke that caused her tone to change. Therefore, Ian couldn’t recognize if the voice belonged to Leahor Sally. Nonetheless, after this incident, he could more or less gauge the truth behind the news online. He reckoned that it was Sean’s work in order to enrage that three people.

Only if the mother and her children continue to create problems would Bryce force himself to be morebiased when writing his will. This showed that Sean was even more cunning than him.

Ian smiled at the thought. It was fine to him too since he didn’t covet Bryce’s will. In fact, he would bemore than happy to see Bryce favoring Sean more when he distributed his wealth.

Holding his phone in his hand, Ian left the room and saw that Cindy and Aurora were still seated next toeach other as they talked about the online news.

After a while, Cindy, who noticed Ian standing at the door, raised her head to look at him with a slightsmile on her face. “Who do you think could have posted the news? It seems to me that this personsided with you.”

Ian didn’t pay much attention to what she said, but his gaze was locked on her face. Her smiling

expression was one that Ian had always seen in the past, but when he saw it again now, he seemed tofeel his heart pounding vigorously in his chest. And so, he went over and sat next to her. “However, based on the number of views, this news didn’t seem to make any large impact.”

Cindy nodded. “Anyway, I’m still glad that someone who sided with you made a statement.”

Aurora suddenly cast a glance at Ian. “Who did you call earlier? And what did you ask?”

“I called Sean,” Ian explained. “I wanted to ask if he was the one who posted the article, but he wasoccupied and wasn’t free to talk. He said that he would call back in a while.”

Feeling surprised, Aurora asked, “Was it Sean’s doing? Why did he post an article like this?” She waspuzzled by his actions because based on the Morgan Family’s wealth and capability, it would be apiece of cake for them to hire trolls to escalate the issue if they intended to help Ian to make aturnaround.

Nonetheless, after the article had been published, the number of views and comments on the newsweren’t high even up to this moment, and there weren’t any follow-up reports. Truth be told, this articlepractically had zero effect.

Leaning against the couch, Ian chuckled. “He must have his plans, or perhaps he did this for his ownsake.” As a businessman, Sean must have his motive no matter what he did.

Aurora’s expression calmed and she gave it some thought, then gently nodded after she seemed tohave figured things out.
