Chapter 1467

John froze for a moment before he quickly explained himself, “Isabelle isn’t my ex-girlfriend. There’sone thing you have to be clear about—we’ve never dated.”

However, Logan rendered John speechless at once with just a sentence. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. She’s yourex-fiancée.”

Meanwhile, Ian took Aurora to meet Hannah after dinner. After cleaning up the kitchen, Cindy sat onthe sofa and watched TV for a while before she took a shower.

She didn’t have much work to do today, so she felt really comfortable. After washing herself, shecleaned the living room and went back to her room right away. She read tabloid news on her cell phonefor a while before going to sleep.

At first, she thought that Aurora would probably return to her hotel after she and Ian met with Hannahand had a nice discussion with the latter. Ian would clean himself and go to sleep when he reachedhome, so she didn’t have to wait on him. With that thought in mind, she slept quite soundly.

However, she had barely slept for over an hour when her cell phone rang next to her. Her eyesnarrowed as she reached for her cell phone and took a look at it. It was an incoming call from Ian.Cindy was puzzled by this, thinking that Ian couldn’t enter the apartment. Hence, she slowly sat up andanswered the phone. “What’s wrong? I didn’t lock the apartment door.”

“That’s not it,” Ian replied. Then, he explained, “My mom will probably crash at our place tonight.”

Cindy’s mouth hung open for a long time before she responded, “Huh? Why?”

Ian let out a helpless sigh. “She had too much to drink, and it seems like she’s out of her mind. I can’tleave her in the hotel like this, so I’ll bring her back in a while. She might be a bit noisy, so you don’thave to come out of your room. I’ll let her sleep in my room, whereas I’ll sleep in the living room.”

Cindy knitted her brows. “How did she get drunk?”

Ian didn’t want to mention the details, and he was quite irritable now that he had to keep a drunkardunder control. After taking a deep breath, he said frankly, “I’m just calling you to tell you about this. Youdon’t have to come out when you hear the noise later. Just go to sleep.”

Aurora’s whimpering and howling voice could be heard through the cell phone, so Cindy could tell howdrunk she was without Ian telling her about it. “Okay,” she replied. Then, she reminded him, “Be carefulthen.”

With that, Ian hung up right away.

Cindy put down her phone and lay down in bed again. This time, however, she couldn’t fall asleep nomatter what. She lay in her bed and waited. About 20 minutes later, the apartment door outside wasopened, and she heard Aurora’s voice immediately.

Aurora was singing at the top of her voice—she was singing an old song that had probably beenpopular when she was young. Cindy sat on her bed and listened to her singing for a long time, but itseemed like Ian was having trouble getting Aurora to sleep. Therefore, she got up and walked out ofher room in the end.

At this moment, Aurora was sitting on the sofa, singing at the top of her lungs with a cup in her hands

as if it were a microphone. Her cheeks were red and she laughed as she sang, so one could tell at aglance that she was a little crazy.

Ian was obviously at his wits’ end as he stood next to Aurora.

Cindy went over and moved close to Aurora. “Is she that excited?”

Just then, Aurora turned her head and saw Cindy. She laughed merrily and beckoned to the latter whilesaying, “Come here, my daughter-in-law. Come over and sing a song with me.” novelbin

Cindy froze for a moment, but she collected herself soon afterward. She couldn’t take Aurora’s wordsseriously at this time, after all. She leaned over and took Aurora’s hand. “It’s too late for that. If youwant to sing, we’ll go sing karaoke some other day. As it happens, I’d like to hear you sing,” she said.

Aurora laughed merrily. “Let me tell you this—I was one of the best singers in the industry back in ourtime,” she said while sticking up her thumb. “I used to be a success. I even won various awards backwhen I was a singer.”

Cindy turned to look at Ian. Then, she lowered her voice and asked, “Did you guys fail to come to anagreement with Ms. Jones?”

Ian stood beside her with arms akimbo. “She said she can offer her a minor part in the film.”

Cindy replied immediately, “That’s a good thing, so why does she seem quite unhappy about it?”
