Chapter 1461

Lastly, Aurora held her teacup in both hands and said, “If I can make a comeback, everything I havewill be yours. It wasn’t just because he wanted to live an ordinary life that I split up with that lover ofmine. Who wouldn’t want to make money? But a couple that marries when they’re already halfwaythrough life can never open their hearts to each other. He has his own children, so he naturally has toconsider their interests, but I don’t want to share what I earn with outsiders. I’ve never given youanything since you were little, so how could I possibly give anything to others? I can’t get over this.”Because of that, she’d rather sever all ties with her lover now while they were still keeping separatefinances than see both of them quarrel over money in the future.

Ian let out a sigh. “I don’t want anything from you. I’m not interested in any of your stuff.”

Aurora nodded with a smile. “It’s your business whether you want it or not, but whether or not I want togive it, whether or not I can give it, and whether or not I have the ability to give it are some things that Ishould consider. I have nothing to make it up to you, so I just want to try my best not to owe youmoney.” Since she had nowhere else to go, she stayed in Ian’s place after having her meal.

Ian pondered for a moment before going to his room with his cell phone in his hand. It seemed that hewas going to pull some strings and find jobs for Aurora.

Now that Ian had left, Cindy certainly couldn’t go back to her room. Even if she had no other intentions,it would be displeasing for her to leave Aurora alone here—after all, it would seem like she was givingher attitude. Besides, she couldn’t go to her room in Aurora’s presence. Aurora was experienced whenit came to relationships. If she saw them sleeping in separate rooms, she would figure everything out atonce. Therefore, she could only keep Aurora company and sit at one side, but she had nothing to say. novelbin

Cindy and Aurora had nothing in common to talk about, so they naturally had nothing to chat about.Cindy wasn’t chatty in the first place, so she would usually remain silent when she was aroundunfamiliar people. However, Aurora spoke first after taking a look at her. “Young lady, I’ve read onlinebefore that you and Ian seem to have been dating for a long time. How did you two get to know eachother? When did you two start dating?”

Cindy couldn’t answer any of Aurora’s questions. She and Ian had never thought up answers toquestions like ‘How you got to know each other’ and ‘When you started dating,’ so she was really afraidto answer these questions for a moment. She was worried that Aurora might ask Ian the samequestions—their cover would be blown at once if Ian’s answers differed from hers. Giving wronganswers to such basic questions would certainly prove that something was fishy between her and Ian.Therefore, she could only reply with a smile, “Indeed, we’ve known each other for a long time. Hehadn’t made his debut in show business when we knew each other, and I’d never thought that he wouldbecome a celebrity one day.” With that, she diverted the conversation in a subtle way.

Aurora stared at Cindy for a while, though no one knew if she had seen through the latter. After a while, she asked again, “I merely read online that your family isn’t very well-off, but I didn’t notice how badly-off your family is. In which city are your family residing now?”

She’s going to do a background check on me, huh? Cindy thought to herself. She was reluctant to talkabout it, though. She and Ian weren’t dating for real, so why should she come clean about herbackground? She merely compressed her lips into a smile without saying a word, and such an attitudeshowed that she didn’t want to answer these questions.

Aurora looked at her with a snort. “Can’t you tell me about it? It seems that your family must be verybadly off then.”

Cindy’s expression remained unchanged. She has no right to check on it no matter whether my familyis well off or not, she thought to herself.

It took a long time before Ian came out with an expression that gave nothing away. Aurora hurriedlystood up and asked, “How did it go? Did you find a job for me? I’m not choosy; I’m fine as long as Ihave a job right now.”

Ian frowned. “I have no jobs for commercial performances to recommend to you—that’s because I don’taccept job offers to perform in commercial events for now. However, I have the script of a film in whichI’ll be playing a role. I can talk to the producer and ask him to let you play a role in the film.”

Aurora smiled at once. “Sure! No problem. No matter how insignificant the role is, I’ll be fine with it. I’mnot choosy about it as long as I get to show my face first.” She was quite aware of her standing in showbusiness since she knew she had no right to negotiate for now.
