Chapter 1462

Ian hesitated for a moment. “In that case, I’ll take you to my agent later and see what the producersays,” he said before turning to look at Cindy. “I’ll take her there after dinner. You don’t have to go withus, so stay at home.”

Cindy nodded assent. “Got it.” She didn’t want to go with them, even if he were to ask her to do so.

The three of them sat on the sofa watching TV since they had nothing to do in the afternoon.

However, Cindy had something on her mind and wanted to talk to Ian about it. After a while, shesuddenly leaned over, clung to Ian’s arm, and leaned close to his ear in a seemingly intimate manner. “Ihave something to talk to you about. Let’s head into the room.”

Ian was stunned, primarily because he was startled by Cindy as she suddenly leaned in close to him. However, he soon realized that the woman probably wanted to say something she couldn’t say in thepresence of his mother. So, he raised his arm and wrapped it around Cindy’s waist before saying,“Let’s go.” novelbin

Aurora merely pretended that she didn’t see what the two were doing. It was normal for young couplesto be lovey-dovey, after all.

Cindy and Ian entered the room and closed the door before quickly jumping away from each other.Feeling somewhat ill at ease, Cindy pushed back her hair and even cleared her throat. “Are you notgoing to tell your mom about our relationship?”

Ian thought about it for a moment. “Let’s not tell her about it for the time being. I don’t want her to know

everything about me so well.”

Cindy had a somewhat complicated look on her face. “She kept asking detailed questions about ourrelationship when I was with her, though. I didn’t know how to answer those questions at all, and I wasafraid that I’d give myself away.” She then told him the two questions Aurora had asked her just now.

Ian frowned and paced back and forth for a moment before walking toward the window. “How about wediscuss the answers to these questions when we’re free? We must make sure that our answers to theimportant questions tally, so we mustn’t get them wrong. As for the remaining details, we can just makethem up by ourselves. If someone asks us about them later, we’ll just admit it right away.”

Cindy lamented with a sigh, “Why is she so attentive to you when it comes to this kind of thing? It’s likeshe’s afraid that I’m cheating on you.”

Ian felt somewhat helpless as well. “Or perhaps she could only bring the conversation around to mebecause she didn’t know what to talk about with you.”

Cindy licked her lips before bringing up another question. “She’s still staying at the hotel for now, right?”

Ian blinked his eyes before he quickly answered, “Yeah, she’s staying at the hotel. Don’t worry, shewon’t be staying with us.” There were only two rooms in his place, so it would be troublesome if Aurorastayed over.

Cindy was relieved upon hearing Ian’s answer. She really didn’t want Aurora to get involved in theirlives any further. Otherwise, the situation would be too out of control for her to handle.

The two of them didn’t talk for long. They went out quickly, mainly because they were afraid that Aurora

might wander around and go to Cindy’s room to take a look. After all, one could tell at a glance thatsomeone was staying in that room.

When they came out, they saw Aurora still sitting on the sofa watching TV with great interest. Whenshe saw them coming out, she pointed at a woman on the TV and said, “I can take on this role, and Ican definitely play the role better than this woman here.”

The role was that of a mother who looked arrogant and domineering. One could tell from herappearance alone that she wasn’t to be trifled with.

Ian smiled a half-hearted smile. “You’ll be playing as yourself then.”

Aurora didn’t think Ian was mocking her, though. “Exactly! I’ve told you for so many years that my life isvaried and eventful; I’ve done everything you can possibly think of.” She sat cross-legged on the sofa ina particularly casual posture. “Let me tell you that I’ve even fought with men on the streets. What she’sacting out in this is simply child’s play. I guarantee that my acting would be even more realistic if I wereto play her role.” As she talked about it, she got somewhat excited. “I was unhappy during those years,so I wanted to find someone and settle down for the rest of my life, but this kind of thing isn’t that easy. There was a period of time when I kept running into *ssholes. At first, I put up with them, but no onecould keep putting up with such people after the same thing went on too many times. After that, I foughtwith them using whatever was in my hand at the time. We even fought our way into the police station. We must have had a rough fight, don’t you think?”
