Chapter 605

Hendrix nodded. Without looking, he handed the document to me with raised eyebrows, "Take a look!"

I was speechless. I really wanted to get him to stop.

Norman smiled. He looked at Hendrix and said, "It looks like Mr. Roberts and Miss Reid have known

each other for a long time."

Somehow, I felt that he asked that question on purpose.

Hendrix raised his eyebrows. Tucking the strand of hair on my forehead behind my ear, he answered in

a gentle voice, "Well, we've been married for seven years after all."

Someone in the crowd held their breath and Norman's body stiffened slightly, like he was not expecting

it.

Hendrix paid no attention to it. Noticing my eyes on him, he smiled and asked, "What's wrong? Do you

think that a husband like me is not up for the task? Do you think that I don't deserve to be Anne's

father, so you're pretending not to know me?"

He obviously said that on purpose.

Stunned, I pursed my lips and didn't say anything else.

In the office, someone whispered, "She is Hendrix Roberts' wife. Oh my God, so..."

Surprise was part of it.

At that moment, the gossip from a few days ago ceased without any interruptions.

I sighed. He came to see me in the office on purpose. Norman must have told him something, so he

came here.

"Are you finished?" Hendrix asked as he grabbed my hand.

I nodded and stood up.

He looked at Norman and asked, "Want to have dinner together?"

Norman shook his head, "I have to pick up Bennett and go home to see my mother later. You can go

ahead. We can make plans next time."

We left the hotel and got into the car.

I glanced at Hendrix. "When did you get here?"

"Just a while ago!" he said.

We chatted along the way. We were quite natural and familiar with each other.

At school, Anne was carrying her schoolbag. As she queued up, she saw Hendrix from afar. Her small

face seemed to light up with happiness.

Excitement was written all over her face as she waved at him. Hendrix gave a slight smile as he raised

his hand to greet her back.

"How's Doctor Saunders?" I asked with a slight smile.novelbin

Since they didn't mention him for a long time, I just asked.

Hendrix looked at me, holding my hand. "He went to Hanlusia City. Perhaps he's planning to start his

new life there."

"Is he married?" Thinking about it, it had already been four years. Monique was like a silent passerby

for him.

Hendrix pursed his lips. "Probably not."

I looked up at him and asked curiously, "Is there someone he can't forget?"

"Uncle Fu!" As Anne came out, the conversation between the two of us came to an abrupt end.

He carried Anne and got into the car. Hendrix looked at Anne and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

"Ice cream, and the Family Bucket Chicken Set!" Anne blurted without thinking.

Hendrix smiled. His gaze fell on me. He said softly, "You may have to ask your mother."

The weather was so hot that I couldn't eat anything at night. I thought about it and said, "Let's go home

to eat!"

Anne seemed a little disappointed as she lowered her head and said, "Alright!"

It was obvious that she was reluctant.

With a faint smile, Hendrix turned the car around and drove toward the alley.

Hendrix looked at me and asked, "Uncle?"

"It's Aaron!" I said without any intention of hiding the truth.

He nodded. He took the watermelon from Anne's hands and split it into two halves. It was homegrown

melon, not that large, but extremely sweet.

Two people, an adult and child, each with half of the watermelon. They looked quite harmonious.

"Your father is going to arrange a blind date for him again. He came here to visit you and to see Anne?"

Hendrix asked.

As he spoke, his gaze fell upon me with a profound look on his face.
