Chapter 418

He glanced at me briefly before walking to the black sofa in the hall. He sat down and glanced at me,

saying lightly, "Not very good. What about you? Is Hendrix alright with Nerissa bringing you back

here?"

As he spoke, he lit a cigarette and took a few puffs, his narrow eyes looking ferocious and cold.

I walked until I was across from him and sat down. Looking at his blank yet handsome face, I said, "I'll

only be here for a few days. He's been busy recently and has no time to spend with me. The Granger

Family has been going through a lot and I might be able to help with something."

He curled his lips into a harsh smile and said somewhat sarcastically, "That's true, you might be of help

to Nerissa."

Honestly, I felt that he was speaking in a very odd way. I curled my lips and asked, "How's your mother-

in-law's plan going?"

Helen had already divorced Yohannes, so the funeral would be handled by the Miller family.

"Not bad!" He raised his hand and pinched the space between his eyebrows. Then, he closed his eyesnovelbin

and hummed in response.

He had been busy these days, so it was normal that he didn't sleep well. Thus, it seemed that he didn't

want to talk much.

I decided I didn't want to say much either. Nerissa had gone to deal with the company's affairs, and I

had nothing to do at the Granger Mansion.

After a while, I heard Irvin breathing lightly as he leaned against the sofa, dozing off.

I got up, took the quilt and laid it over his body. Suddenly, he grabbed my hand and said, "Just sit here!"

The sudden exclamation confused me, but he was talking in his sleep.

However, he was still holding on to my wrist. I tried a few times to break free, but to no avail.

I frowned and said, "Irvin, let go of me!"

Then, he raised his hand, pulled me towards him, and said wearily, "Stay with me for a while. I haven't

slept for days."

I had nothing else to say, and he seemed pretty tired so I simply sat next to him.

He slept very soundly, and he looked exhausted.

He was dead asleep for a long time. I reckoned that it was because he had nothing to do, so I fell

asleep next to him soon after.

Suddenly, I was awakened by a frightened shriek. I opened my eyes in a daze. Before I could

understand what was going on, Nerissa's voice rang out.

"Arianna, what are you guys doing? There are many servants coming in and out of this villa. Look at

you guys... you should at least be a little more modest. You too..."

I was a little dizzy and I had no idea what was going on. After I came back to my senses, I blearily

looked up.

I had no idea when Hendrix had arrived, but his handsome face was contorted into a grim expression.

My voice was a little hoarse as I looked at him and said, "You're back!"

He looked at me and didn't say anything. His eyes were so gloomy that it made me realize that I was

lying in Irvin's arms when he was asleep.

Therefore when they came in, the first thing they saw was me and Irvin lying in each other's embrace.

Realizing why Hendrix was angry, I quickly pulled away from Irvin's arms and stood uo. However, a

wave of dizziness swept over me as I tried to stand after sitting for a long time.

Suddenly, I fell into Irvin's lap. I had no idea when he'd woken up, but he held me in his arms and

muttered, "You're anemic, so you have to take care of yourself."

I was shocked, but before I came back to my senses, someone suddenly pulled me up. "Mr. Granger, I

know that you're affectionate, but you don't have to worry about my wife."

Hendrix held me in his arms and wrapped me in an extremely strong embrace. A chilling aura

emanated from his body as he spoke.

"Ha!" Irvin stretched and said casually, "Why are you so nervous, Mr. Roberts? Are you afraid that I'll

steal her from you?"
