Chapter 417

I noticed the dark circles under her eyes. She must not have been sleeping well. Now that she had said

her request, it wouldn't make sense if I didn't agree to it.

After thinking for a while, I said, "Okay, but I have to talk to Hendrix first."

"That wouldn't be necessary!" Nerissa quickly said, "I'll talk to him about this. He's been too busy

recently to take care of himself. I'm afraid he has no time to worry about you. Come to the Granger

Mansion and take Minnie with you. He'll feel more at ease knowing someone's there to care for you."

I nodded slightly. Though what she said did make sense, but something still felt amiss, especially if one

to think hard about this.

Noting my assent, she smiled and said, "Go pack and then come with me to the Granger Mansion. Thenovelbin

snowfall isn't too bad today, and the roads in Jarold City have been cleaned up. If we wait a few days,

I'm afraid the snow will get too heavy, and the roads will be blocked."

I was stunned. "Will we be going today?"

She nodded and said, "Well, it's more convenient to move today. I'll call Hendrix to tell him. The

Granger Mansion has everything. You only need to pack the necessary. I'll ask the butler to buy you

some clothing and shoes according to your preferred style."

I shook my head. "That's alright. It's only for a few days so I don't need much. Besides, it is very close,

so if I need anything, I'll just come over and get it."

She smiled and looked at Minnie. "Minnie, you should go and pack up. Let's go together. Please help

look out for Arianna and help her pack her things if necessary."

Minnie looked at me blankly and said, "It's very close. If I need anything, I can just come back. Why do

I have to live there?"

Nerissa interrupted, "It's more convenient to live there as you have to stay the night. It's too

troublesome to go back and forth between the two places, so you might as well take what you need

with you."

Minnie had no comeback to that, so she went upstairs to pack up.

I thought that Nerissa's idea was made in the spur of the moment, so I didn't expect to find that she'd

brought two drivers when I walked to the door. This took me by surprise.

"I thought that there would be a lot of snow on the road. Thus, it's a good safety measure to bring two

cars in case anything happens." Nerissa explained when she noticed that I was surprised by the sight

of two cars.

Ah well, I didn't ask too much either. Since I already agreed, I can't just go back on my word!

The Granger Mansion!

The heavy snowfall only served to make the already picturesque Granger Mansion look even more

otherworldly.

There were a lot of plum blossoms planted in the yard. White snow crystals gently landed on their

peach petals, and the contrasting colors looked stunning.

The pebbles were covered with snow and left a line of footprints that led all the way to the gate of the

Granger Mansion.

After entering the main hall of the mansion, I saw that Yohannes's memorial tablet was placed in the

hall. The originally glorious and elegant villa had an air of solemnity and desolation added to it.

The servants were busy tidying up the courtyard after a heavy snow. Nerissa asked them to take me up

to the second floor and arranged a room for me.

I stood on the balcony of the hall on the second floor and looked at the snow downstairs. Before I knew

it, it seemed like the New Year was coming.

The year had gone by so quickly.

"She asked you to come over?" A cold voice suddenly came from behind.

I turned back to see Irvin. It had been days since we last saw each other, and he seemed to have lost a

lot of weight. The sinister look on his face was even more obvious now, and his eyes were colder than

the ice crystals littering the floor outside.

I subconsciously tucked my jacket and looked at him. "How have you been?"
