Chapter 1165

When I woke up, I found myself lying on a hospital bed. A nurse stood next to me, giving me aninfusion. "The patient has been frightened, hence she passed out due to overexertion. Plus the factthat she is menstruating, so her body produced a stress hormone. After the infusion and some rest, she will be fine."

The nurse was obviously not talking to me but to someone else in the room. There were Hendrixand Evan, both dressed in black suits, in the room. After hearing the nurse's words, Evan noddedand walked the nurse out.

Hendrix saw that I had woken up. His dark eyes fell on me for a while, and then he looked away.

I didn't want to argue with him anymore. All I could think about was Irvin, and how he had beencovered in blood. I could not help but ask, "Where's Irvin? Is he all right?"

Hendrix's expression turned gloomy as soon as he heard my words. He stared at me harshly andsaid coldly, "You're really concerned about him!"

I frowned and ignored his callous words. I said, "Did he come out of the emergency room? Is thereanyone taking care of him?"

Hendrix looked at me and remained silent for a long time.

In his eyes, I saw disappointment, coldness, and even a little mockery.

After some time, he walked out of the ward without saying a word.

Upon seeing this, I knew that he was angry, but I was still worried about Irvin. Hence, I got up fromthe bed and was about to pull the drip out from my hand so I could go see Irvin.

The ward door was suddenly pushed open, and Evan came in. When he saw that I was going topull out the drip, he quickly stepped forward to stop me. He looked at me and said, "Mrs. Roberts, the doctor said that you can't pull out the drip."

I frowned and said, "Evan, could you take a look at Irvin for me? I'm worried about him! Is thereanyone taking care of him?"

Evan sighed and said helplessly, "Mrs. Roberts, sometimes I felt that you are ignorant towards Mr.Roberts's feelings. Do you think that he would allow Mr. Granger to die after protecting you? Youare Mr. Roberts's wife and he cares deeply for you. The moment he knew that you were admittedinto the hospital, he dropped everything and rushed over to see you. But what did he see? It wasyou standing at the emergency room, covered in blood and worrying about another man's safety. You ignored everyone that was around you. Mr. Roberts even spoke to you but you did not hearhim. When you suddenly fainted, Mr. Roberts was so nervous that he almost cried out. As he knewyou were worried about Mr. Granger's injury, Mr. Roberts had arranged for the best doctor in thehospital to treat Mr. Granger, and the best nurses to look after him. But when you awoke, the firstperson that you asked about was Mr. Granger. You completely ignored the fact that Mr. Roberts isyour husband. Madam, Mr. Roberts is your husband and a normal man. Any man who sees theirwife being worried about another man would be hurt deeply..."

I was stunned. For a moment, I didn't know what to say, so I just remained silent.

Seeing that I was in a daze, Evan sighed and said, "Madam, Mr. Granger's condition is stable now.He is still under sedation, so he will not wake up so soon. But with the doctor's care and treatment,he will be fine. So, you don't have to worry too much. For now, you should focus on getting betteryourself."novelbin

As Evan spoke, he ushered me back to the bed to lie down. His words swirled in my mind. I couldn'texplain my current feelings. All I could say was that I had been too anxious that I forgot to take

Hendrix's feelings into account.
