Chapter 1164

I shook my head and I was panicking. My hands were trembling as I heard sounds coming fromoutside the canopy. Just like Irvin had said, someone had come to save us.novelbin

Suddenly I felt something cold and wet at my waist, and I was shocked. I was overwhelmed by abad feeling and I asked in a trembling voice, "Irvin, how are you feeling? Are you hurt?"

Irvin's voice was still weak but he forced himself to speak, "I'm okay."

I panicked and yelled loudly, "Help! We're here!"

I tried talking to Irvin again but he did not answer me. The cold liquid around my waist seemed to bespreading. I trembled hard as I called out, "Irvin... Don't fall unconscious! Stay with me! Can anyonehear me? Please somebody! Help!"

"Miss Reid, don't worry. We will get you out right away! Right now!" A voice came from outside thecanopy.

It wasn't long before the people outside finally dug us out of the pile of ruins. Irvin had shielded meunder his body and Hugo, who was about to stretch out his hand to grab me, suddenly stoppedwhen he saw Irvin. After hesitating for a few

seconds, he called out, "Call the ambulance, quick!"

When I heard Hugo's words, my body stiffened in shock. I lay motionless on the ground.

The medical staff rushed over, lifted Irvin up carefully, and placed him on a stretcher. I couldn't say aword as Hugo helped me up. My breathing was still haphazard from the anxiety...

Looking at the pool of blood on the ground, my mind went blank. I didn't know how I got to thehospital.

Everything around became quiet. I stood at the door of the emergency room, watching the doctorsrushing in and out. I was so nervous and I wanted to ask about Irvin's situation, but I couldn't say aword.

Someone seemed to want to pull me elsewhere. I stood motionless at the door of the operatingroom. After a long time, the light at the emergency room turned red, and I finally relaxed.

A few minutes later, the door opened and a doctor in a white gown came out. I wanted to ask aboutIrvin's condition, but I could not find the words. As I opened my mouth, I felt a little pain in my throat.

The doctor glanced at me and stopped walking. He frowned for a moment and asked, "Miss, areyou okay?"

I nodded my head and croaked, "O...kay!" My throat hurt so much that I couldn't utter a single word.

The doctor looked behind me and asked, "Would you please take this lady to the surgicaldepartment to check if she is alright?"

Only then did I realize that my clothes were stained with crimson blood. The doctor must havethought that I was injured, hence asking for me to be checked by the surgical department.

The person behind me was Evan. I didn't know how long he had been standing there, and I wassurprised to see him. He looked at the doctor and nodded. When Evan caught my eye, he said,"Madam, Mr. Granger's condition is stable now. Please allow me to bring you for a checkup!"

I nodded, feeling more relaxed. All of a sudden, everything went dark, and I lost consciousness.
