Chapter 1163

"Eat something first, and then take a rest!" I heard Irvin's voice. Looking up, I saw him standing infront of me. He was wearing a black suit and holding a white lunch box in his hand.

"Here's some of your favorite food!" He handed me the lunch box.

I smiled faintly and reached out to take it, "Thank you, Mr. Granger, how kind of you! I'm hungrytoo," I opened the box with a smile and ate hurriedly.

He then sat down beside me and remained silent as I ate. As I was about to finish my food, he said,"There's not much to do in the afternoon. After you're done eating, you can go back and have a rest.Don't always stay up late at night. It's not good for your health."novelbin

I sighed, "I'm fine. I'll be okay!"

Casting me a sidelong glance, he asked, "Did you quarrel with Hendrix last night?"

Stunned, I stopped chewing. Then, I swallowed the food in my mouth and said with a smile, "We'rea married couple, it's normal to quarrel. And, we'll get used to it."

He pursed his lips and asked, "Why did you quarrel?"

After finishing my food, I looked at him and said with a smile, "Are you a marriage counselor?"

He smiled faintly, handed me a glass of water, and said, "I saw that you weren't in a good mood, soI thought of asking, that's all."

I took a sip of water and pursed my lips, "It's normal to quarrel between husband and wife... Oh yes,it's going to be Thanksgiving soon. Are you planning to go back to Jarold City?"

He thought for a moment and said, "Yes, I will go back!"

I nodded and said, "Sure." I didn't speak further.

It was probably due to the rain the previous night, that the sun was now extremely hot. Duringlunch, Irvin had initially asked me to go to the hotel to take a proper nap, but I rejected it. I thoughtof just casually grabbing some shuteye over the break.

As I closed my eyes and rested, I felt a slight discomfort in my stomach. I frowned, and Irvinnoticed. He asked, "What's wrong?"

I shook my head and raised my hand to cover my stomach, "Maybe it was cold yesterday, and mystomach is feeling unwell!"

Irvin frowned, stood up and said, "Let's go. I'll take you to the hospital!"

I shook my head. I figured it might be the time of the month and that was why I had a stomachache. He pulled at my wrist, wanting to take me to the hospital. Suddenly, the canopy behind us startedshaking.

I was completely shocked and did not react. Something was wrong! Fortunately, Irvin reactedquickly and pulled me aside.

However, my stomach was throbbing violently at that moment. As I was about to take another stepforward, a sharp pain shot through my stomach and I broke out in cold sweat. The canopy wasabout to collapse on us, and I struggled free from Irvin's grasp, "You go ahead, don't worry aboutme!" I cried.

He pursed his lips and frowned. Without any hesitation, he picked me up in his arms and ran.Seconds later, I heard the sound of something heavy collapsing and heard Irvin groaning in pain.

The huge pressure forced Irvin and me to the ground and everything turned dark. Before I realizedwhat had happened, the heavy canopy had collapsed on us...

However, Irvin was still protecting me. I forgot my own pain and asked Irvin frantically, "Irvin, howare you feeling?"

He said in a weak voice, "I'm fine. Don't worry. They will come to save us soon. Are you alright?"
