Chapter 230

The rest of the crowd was petrified, huddled in the shadows, too scared to even breathe too loudlylest they draw Liam's wrath upon themselves.

However, Billie was not like the rest. Even from her hiding spot, she was on her phone, her voiceshrill with panic as she called her dad.

"Dad, please! You've got to come now! He's going to kill me! Dad, hurry!"

Billie's body shook with fear, her excess weight jiggling as she watched Samara lying motionless onthe floor. Her eyes locked on Liam, terror-stricken, as she tried to bury herself further into the crowd.

The group, trembling in the corner, watched as Billie frantically tried to blend in with them whileLiam, radiating deadly intent, advanced on them. The primal urge to survive kicked in and theperson beside Billie shoved her away, hurling insults.

"Ah! Billie, stay away, don't you dare get me killed!"

"Damn, Billie, move it and get out of here! Leave us out of it! Liam, it's Billie and Samara whomessed with Celena, not us!"

Meanwhile, downstairs at the hotel, a fleet of about twenty black sedans rolled up to the entrance, effectively sealing it off.

The sound of car doors slamming echoed as a swarm of tough-looking enforcers armed with batsand blades leaped out, each one exuding menace. A middle-aged man in a gray suit led them, casually smoking beside his car.

The hotel manager, who had been knocked around earlier, recognized the man and hobbled over, bowing deeply and exclaiming with a mix of respect and anger, "Mr. Wakelin!"novelbin

The newcomer was none other than Billie's father, Quim Wakelin, the notorious kingpin of DrunhamCity's underworld.

A heavyweight in the city's shady dealings, Quim commanded respect for his influence and wealth, owning a string of clubs and hotels. Beyond his criminal empire, he was also counted among thecity's affluent.

"What the hell happened here?" Quim surveyed the wrecked hotel lobby, his expression turningstormy as he demanded an explanation.

The hefty manager wasted no time in spicing up the tale of what had just happened, lighting a fireunder Quim's temper. With a commanding wave of his hand, Quim and his crew barged into thehotel.

A horde of over a hundred goons, weapons in hand, stormed in with a thunderous presence, making a beeline for Liam's private room.

After Billie had been shoved out, Liam gave her a taste of her own medicine and then some. Billiewas then sprawled on the floor, dazed and bleeding from the mouth. Her chubby face was so puffedup that her features were nearly indistinguishable. She lay there, barely hanging on to life. If it werenot for the heaving of her chest, someone might have sworn she was a goner.

The chaos of footsteps and a chorus of angry shouts grew louder outside, coming on strong andmean!

"I want to see who's got the guts to mess with my daughter! Are they ignoring me or are theyignoring what I'm capable of?"

Quim's booming voice of fury reverberated through the hotel before he even showed up, echoingpowerfully across the floors.

Then, Quim, seething with anger, showed up at the private room's entrance, his entourage of ahundred strong thugs following suit, storming the room with a vengeance.

About twenty thugs burst in first, surrounding Liam, and then parted to let the towering Quimthrough. He locked eyes on his darling daughter, lying battered on the floor, and with his pupils widewith rage. He let out a furious roar.
