Chapter 177

Scott’s voice reached Bradley through the phone, and Bradley responded coldly, “What’s going on?” “Isuspect Mrs. Warner may be in danger, but I don’t have all the details…”

Bradley immediately recalled previous incidents involving Esther and asked angrily, “Tell me!”

“Mr. Warner, it’s urgent, and I don’t have time to explain fully. Please come to the hospital quickly.” Afterending the call, Scott started recording a video on his phone and headed to Wilson’s office. Conductinga body check on Esther was a minor task that didn’t require Wilson’s constant presence. He could giveinstructions, and his assistants and interns would handle it.

Scott called out, “Wilson.”

Wilson glanced at Esther’s recent heart examination report and said with slight guilt, “Scott, have aseat.” Scott sat down and asked directly, skipping pleasantries, “The patient I just operated on, she hascongenital heart disease, right?”

Wilson knew that the fabricated data could only deceive those who hadn’t seen Liliane’s real condition.Doctors like Scott, who had just performed surgery with him, couldn’t be fooled.

“Yes.”

Scott frowned, his voice stern as he questioned, “If she has congenital heart disease, she shouldn’t beable to have children.”

Liliane’s heart couldn’t handle the strain of childbirth, making it impossible for Felix to be born to her.“Scott, this is none of your business. Don’t meddle,” Wilson warned, his first time speaking to Scott likethat. “Knowing too much isn’t good for you.”

“Wilson…” Scott was exasperated, trying to awaken Wilson from his delusion.

“You’re our teacher’s proudest apprentice. Have you forgotten our original intention of studyingmedicine? We’re here to treat and save people, not to harm.”

Wilson maintained a defiant attitude, saying, “I haven’t harmed anyone.”

“Then why do you need Esther’s heart data?” Scott’s eyes turned red with anger. He couldn’t bear tosee this rising star in the medical field go down a criminal path. “Don’t try to fool me by saying you needthe data for your artificial heart. That’s impossible.”

Wilson stood up indifferently, calmly stating, “If you ignore this, we can still be friends…”

“I won’t.” Scott rose from his chair, exuding a stronger presence than Wilson, representing justice.“We’re doctors. Our duty is to treat and save patients, not to use the guise of practicing medicine forinjustice and inhumanity…”novelbin

“I didn’t plan to kill her,” Wilson confessed his intentions, attempting to persuade Scott to join him.

“Why do you need her heart data if you don’t plan to kill her?”

Wilson argued, “I want to switch her heart with Liliane’s. She won’t die-”

Scott angrily interrupted Wilson, questioning, “Why should she exchange her healthy heart for a faultyone? Have you considered the consequences? Can you bear the wrath of the Warners?”

“No one will know, and besides, my artificial heart is about to undergo clinical trials… Once it’s

successfully tested, I’ll…”

Scott furrowed his brow, doubtful. “Wilson, Liliane isn’t your daughter, is she? Why would you risk yourcareer and life for her?”

Wilson replied, “As long as you stay silent, no one will find out.”

“You, me, and the universe know,” Scott firmly stated, his expression cold and just. “My professionalintegrity won’t allow me to stand by and watch you commit such inhumane acts…”

Seeing Scott’s determined face, Wilson realized further persuasion was futile. He reluctantlysuppressed his unease and said, “I won’t do it. I won’t, alright?!”

“Really?” Scott couldn’t believe he had actually convinced Wilson.
