Chapter 176

Due to their proximity, Xara and Esther decided not to drive. As they walked together on the street, theymade a beautiful sight.

While crossing a traffic light, a speeding car suddenly lost control and veered toward them.Unfortunately, Esther, wearing high heels, couldn’t dodge in time.

Reacting swiftly, Xara pulled Esther with her and rolled to the ground, narrowly avoiding a fatalcollision. As the car was about to hit them again, the lackey who had been tracking Esther panickedand accelerated, crashing into the car.

Esther and Xara sustained minor injuries, mostly superficial wounds, but Esther ended up spraining herankle due to her high heels.

“Esther, are you alright?” Xara asked softly.

Esther replied in a low voice, “I think I sprained my ankle.”

Glancing at Esther’s foot, Xara confirmed the sprain, though it wasn’t severe.

“Don’t worry, It’s not a serious injury. Just wait here for a moment. I’ll call for assistance to take you tothe hospital.”

A plump woman emerged from the intentionally crashed car and approached Xara, grabbing her hairand shouting, “You stole my man!”

Unaware of the woman’s presence while tending to Esther, Xara suddenly found herself under attack. She swiftly defended herself, subduing the woman with one hand while using her phone with the otherto call the police and request an ambulance.

The police and ambulance arrived simultaneously.

Esther was placed in the ambulance, where the medical staff assessed her injuries, speaking softly.“It’s not serious, but we should take you to the hospital for further examination and start an IV drip.”

“Okay.”

The medical staff exchanged a glance and proceeded to administer the pre-prepared IV drip to Esther.

Esther didn’t feel much initially, but her eyelids gradually grew heavy.

Once the medical staff confirmed Esther’s unconscious state, one of them quickly dialed a number ontheir phone. “Mr. Hoyer, she’s unconscious!”

“Take her to the hospital right away!”novelbin

Unconscious, Esther was swiftly transported to the hospital. A medical assistant discreetly whisperedsomething in Wilson’s ear in the operating room.

Wilson glanced at Scott and said, “Dr. Holden, I’ll leave the operating room to you.”

“Alright.”

After Wilson left the operating room, he immediately went to check on Esther.

“Examine her heart and determine if it matches Liliane’s.”

Wilson looked at the unconscious Esther and felt conflicted. He hoped Esther’s heart wouldn’t be amatch for Lillane, so he wouldn’t have to make an ethically challenging decision. At the same time, hesecretly

wished for a match, as it would solidify his place in Leah’s heart.

Inside the operating room, while Wilson was absent, Scott specifically reviewed Liliane’s medical dataand reached a conclusion. Liliane’s heart condition was congenital and not caused by childbirth.

Then why had they told Bradley otherwise?

After the surgery, as Scott changed clothes with the other medical staff, he overheard a few assistantsdiscussing quietly.

“Why is Dr. Birch so concerned about Liliane? If we didn’t know any better, we’d think she’s hisdaughter!”

“What do you mean? Dr. Birch is currently having someone check if a woman named Esther’s heartmatches Liliane’s.”

“No way! Dr. Birch wouldn’t actually use a living person’s heart for transplantation, would he? If thisgets exposed, it can ruin his career…”

Scott was certain that the “Esther” they mentioned was Bradley’s wife. Anxious, he quickly took out hisphone and dialed Bradley’s number as he stepped into the stairwell.

“Mr. Warner! Mrs. Warner is in trouble!”
