Chapter 171

Billy refrained from sharing his speculation with Leah, keeping his thoughts to himself. He clenched histeeth, contemplating giving Bradley another chance.

If Bradley truly broke his promise, Billy would resort to using Esther’s birth as leverage to make herwillingly give up on Bradley. However, he didn’t want to break his promise to Faye unless it wasabsolutely necessary.

“By the way, didn’t you say the wedding designer is coming? I can drive you there!” Billy suggested.

Leah glared at him irritably and replied, “Do you think I can’t drive or we don’t have a chauffeur? Youworry about things you shouldn’t and neglect what you should be concerned about. If you truly careabout Liliane, prepare a proper wedding gift. We may not be as wealthy as the Warners, but I don’twant our gift to be too modest and become a subject of ridicule.”

“I have already prepared a gift for Liliane,” Billy reassured her.

Leah seemed appeased and pointed at him, saying, “I want to make it clear in advance. Everything youhave now is our joint property as a couple. If I find out that you’ve given something to Esther without mypermission, I can take legal action to reclaim it. Ultimately, it will be your embarrassment.”

“I haven’t given her anything,” Billy quickly denied. “If I had something to give, I would have informedyou beforehand.”

“Good, you know better,” Leah said, glancing at her wristwatch. “I’ll go upstairs first. Liliane needs herinfusion.”

“Alright, I’ll head back to the company. Let Liliane know that I’ll visit her after work.”

“Drive safely.”

“I will.”

Leah watched Billy leave, but before leaving herself, she made a phone call to Shane.

“Shane, how are things going? Is her heart a suitable match? Leah asked.

Shane replied in a deep voice, “Based on the previous examinations conducted on Esther in prison, wecan preliminarily conclude that her heart is a potential match for Liliane. However, further detailedexaminations are still required to determine the feasibility of the transplantation.”

“In that case, should we consider arranging a car accident for Esther?” Leah suggested.novelbin

Shane replied in a low tone, “Don’t worry about it. Just focus on being with Liliane.”.

Having built a network of people over the years, Shane had individuals willing to carry out such tasksfor a fee.

“By the way, the wedding dress designer that Liliane likes is coming. I’m going to meet her with Liliane,”Leah informed.

Shane inquired, “Has the wedding date been set?”

“Not yet,” Leah replied.

“I know a talented fortune-teller. Shall I invite him to determine the wedding date for Liliane andBradley?” Shane suggested.

“I trust your judgment.”

After ending the call, Leah returned to Liliane’s ward.

“Mom, what were you and Dad talking about?” Liliane asked.

Leah gazed at her daughter, weakened and tired even with makeup. Her eyes were red and swollen.“We were discussing the wedding date for you and Bradley, so we should also start preparing yourwedding gift. Liliane, even though we may not possess great wealth, we’ll ensure you have amagnificent wedding with Bradley.”

“Mom…” Liliane reached out and tightly embraced Leah. “Your and Dad’s good health is the greatestgift for me.”

“You silly girl.” Leah couldn’t help but shed a tear.

Why did fate have to be so cruel to her kind-hearted daughter?

If there were any sins, they would be hers. Why did her daughter have to endure all of this?

A nurse entered, and Leah watched as the nurse began Liliane’s infusion. She then discussed themeeting time and location with the fortune-teller recommended by Shane.

While receiving the infusion, Liliane grew exceedingly bored and took out her phone to call Felix’ssmartwatch.

There was no response.
