Chapter 170

But what could Billy do?

He had only one daughter and couldn’t bear to watch her leave this world with regrets. Unfortunately,he couldn’t even transplant his own heart to Liliane. If he could, he would willingly sacrifice himself forher. Calming himself down, Billy drove back to the hospital slowly.

Upon seeing Billy’s disheveled appearance, Leah rolled her eyes in disdain. Without waiting for him tospeak, she coldly said, “Follow me.”.

The couple made their way to the downstairs garden.

“What’s wrong with you? Can’t you take care of your appearance? I’m begging you, at least do it forLiliane’s sake,” Leah said, looking at Billy with extreme disdain. Her words grew sharper and bitter.“You… You know we’re preparing for Liliane and Bradley’s wedding, yet you still…”novelbin

Billy sat heavily on a bench, and his voice sounded hoarse and exhausted as he asked, “Why didBradley say you accepted $15,000,000?”

“What $15,000,000?” Leah quickly retorted. “Why did you go to see Bradley? Are you trying to makethings worse?”

“I went to see Esther. I begged her. I knelt and begged her to leave Bradley…”

Leah scrutinized Billy with her eyes and questioned him word by word, “What did you say? You went tosee Esther?”

“Yes, I begged her. I begged her to leave Bradley and make way for our Liliane,” Billy said in extremesorrow. “Even if our Liliane only has three months left to live, I don’t want her to leave with regrets-”

“Shut up!” When Leah heard Billy’s words that seemed like a curse on Liliane, her anger intensified.“Stop talking. Our Liliane will live a long and healthy life. What did Bradley say?”

“He said you accepted $15,000,000 from him!” Billy couldn’t believe that his wife and daughter hadactually taken money from Bradley. “It can’t be true, right? You don’t need the money. How could you-”

Leah coldly interrupted Billy’s delusion and calmly said, “No, it’s true.”

“Why?” Billy was utterly bewildered.

He had never treated his wife and daughter poorly when it came to money. Why would they acceptmoney from Bradley?

“Why?” Leah instantly turned the tables and snarled, “Back then, Bradley threatened us. He wouldhave ruined you financially if we didn’t take the money. What choice did we have? He was determinedto sever ties with us. Reluctantly, I had to accept the money.”

Billy had never anticipated this turn of events and cried out in agony, “You should have told me! Even ifthe Ansteys aren’t as wealthy as the Warners, I would never let Bradley insult my wife and daughterwith money.”

“Tell you?” Leah coldly snorted, obscuring the matter. “What would you have done if you knew? Let’snot dwell on the past. Liliane wants to marry Bradley, and we’ll help make her wish come true, thanksto Felix.”

Upon recalling Bradley’s protective behavior toward Esther, Billy quickly cautioned Leah, preemptivelyreminding her, “But what if Bradley doesn’t want to marry Liliane?”

“He will.” Leah’s gaze turned sharp, her voice suddenly cold.

How many more years could a woman have?

For five long years, her daughter had endured ridicule and mockery from the world because of Bradley. She would not allow him to break his promise.

Since Bradley had pledged to marry Liliane, then he must fulfill that promise.

Leah would force Bradley into the wedding if he dared to backtrack, even if she had to tie him up.“Liliane and Bradley have Felix!”
