Chapter 897: Politeness

Chapter 897: Politeness

Due to Preston's collaboration with the Simpson Group on the Mr. and Mrs. Bell project, there were

many gossip-hungry reporters gathering outside the Simpson Group, hoping to get some firsthand

information.

Everyone who came out of the Simpson Group was asked, "Benjamin is working with the Simpson

Group, and his secretary, Sean, has come out to imply that someone wants to frame him. Does Mr.

Simpson have anything to say about this? Does Mr. Simpson know the inside story?"

To such questions, everyone chose to remain tight-lipped and gave no response at all. The reporters

persisted, indicating that they wouldn't leave until they saw Ayan.

At the same time, reporters and the media were also waiting outside Armstrong Corp.

Some reporters directly called Grace's assistant to inquire about the current situation. "Is it true that

Sean and Elijah are father and son? Did Armstrong Corp get involved in Louise's death but shift the

blame to Sean for revenge against Elijah?"

The assistant was completely at a loss when faced with such questioning and immediately sought

Grace to explain the situation.

Grace, too, encountered such a situation for the first time and had no ideas, so she went to find

Horace. Although they were together now, they kept their relationship secret at Armstrong Corp to

avoid being perceived as not taking work seriously.

Grace knocked on Horace's office door, her expression serious as she entered and told him about the

assistant's words. She asked, "What should we do? Won't the media assume that it's us? This will

bring negative impact to Armstrong Corp, and if the police come to investigate, it will be even harder."

Horace furrowed his brows immediately. He looked at Grace with a hint of tenderness in his otherwise

cold gaze. He said, "It's just a phone call, don't worry or panic. This matter has nothing to do with

Armstrong Corp, and we shouldn't be afraid of any questioning."

"But the call was directly made to my assistant, and she didn't know what to do and hung up. Could this

cause trouble?"

Grace looked worriedly at Horace, seeking his advice.

Horace got up, held her hand, led her to sit beside him, and considerately poured her a glass of water

before calmly saying, "Since they're waiting outside Armstrong Corp, this won't do. The situation at

Simpson Group is probably similar. Why don't you ask Camille? See what Ayan intends to do. We can

just follow their lead."

"Is that okay?"

"Yes, it won't jeopardize Simpson Group's interests. If Camille can help us ask, that's great. If Simpson

Group can't reveal anything, it's alright. We'll think of another way."

Horace's approach was clear and straightforward. If Ayan had a way to deal with this matter, they could

learn from it. If Simpson Group couldn't reveal anything, they would find other solutions. He was

concerned that Armstrong Corp making the first move might lead to suspicions.

After Horace's words, Grace immediately called Camille.

Camille didn't answer as she was currently in a meeting with many people in the conference room,

making it inconvenient for her to take calls.novelbin

So she sent a message to Grace: "I'm busy. What's up?"

Grace quickly explained her thoughts to Camille and asked her for help: "Can you ask Mr. Simpson

about his plans?"

Camille's eyes subconsciously glanced at Jenson, as Grace's words shocked her and made her realize

what might have happened outside.

Her immediate concern wasn't about the external situation but about Jenson. Jenson suddenly

arranged for everyone to gather at the museum, claiming it was to prepare for the police to question

them and make statements. Was that really the case?

Camille didn't know why, but upon hearing Grace's words, her first reaction was to look at Jenson, and

she felt a deep sense of doubt.

Her direct gaze caused Jenson to look back at her. Compared to her complex expression, Jenson's

gaze was more open and even included a polite nod as a form of greeting.

Jenson's behavior only added to Camille's confusion. Was she overthinking this matter?

She sighed silently and redirected her gaze back to the conversation with Grace. She told her, "I can't

do it right now. Just call him directly. If you have any question for him, tell me, I'll send him a message

to let him know."

Grace had only briefly mentioned the situation outside, but since there were reporters waiting outside

Armstrong Corp, it was likely that it was the same situation for Simpson Group and the museum, as

Louise's last workplace.

But the silence and calmness outside made Camille feel that something was too abnormal.

However, she didn't delve deeper into her thoughts as this matter had nothing to do with her or Ayan.

She wasn't worried about being investigated by the police.

Camille immediately sent a message to Ayan, who reassured her, asking her not to worry.

After Grace called Ayan and explained her purpose, Ayan didn't hide anything and said

straightforwardly, "Simpson Group doesn't plan to give any response. We just need to push everything

onto Sean. The media will naturally dig into the people around Sean."

Ayan's response left Grace stunned for a moment. She instinctively glanced at Horace, who nodded

silently. Grace then said, "Alright, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Simpson."

"Not a problem," Ayan replied in a nonchalant tone.

After the call ended, Grace put down her phone, wearing a puzzled expression as she turned to Horace

and asked, "Does Ayan mean to shift all the blame onto Sean?"

"What good does it do to put the blame on Sean? I don't think he wants Sean to take the fall. He

probably wants to target the people behind Sean," Horace replied with a furrowed brow. He offered his

response in a hushed tone, instantly realizing the answer in his mind.

Ayan probably didn't want to go after Sean because Sean poses no threat to him whatsoever. Sean is

not on the same level as him, so there's no need to go through all this trouble.

Horace's thoughts were clear, and he asked Grace, "Are you familiar with Benjamin?"

Grace didn't understand what Horace meant, but she told him what she knew.

Horace was somewhat surprised by her answer. He asked, "Benjamin is Preston?"

"Yes, not many people know about this, but I won't be mistaken. Preston used to be Cami's business

partner and a friend for many years. I'm not sure why they drifted apart, but I'm sure Cami had her

reasons."

Grace didn't realize the complexity of the situation, so she had no intention of hiding anything from

Horace and shared all the information she knew. However, her words also reflected her loyalty to

Camille.

Horace nodded slightly and felt more certain about his speculation.

He said, "Ayan is probably going after Preston."

"But Preston is not in Hance now!"

"Whether he is or not doesn't matter. We can't underestimate the power of the internet and media. No

matter where he is, they'll find a way to spread the news." Horace chuckled lightly, immediately

instructing his secretary to prepare an invitation for the reporters and media outside to come in and

have a cup of coffee.

As the current executive general manager of Armstrong Corp, Horace came forward to clearly express

the relationship between Elijah and Armstrong Corp, as well as the connection between Sean and

Armstrong Corp. Although they were father and son, one should be held responsible for their own

actions. Moreover, Armstrong Corp's reach wasn't as far as to implicate just anyone they wanted.

Horace's attitude was confident and poised. He didn't shy away from Elijah's connection with

Armstrong Corp or deny that Elijah's actions had caused them trouble. However, Armstrong Corp

wouldn't do anything to Sean, as he wasn't the one hurting them.

Besides, with the law in place, who could act with impunity?
