Chapter 770 Fear

A few minutes later, Kian emerged from the bathroom and looked at Sean. "Since we've talked about

everything, I should go now. Oh, and Preston will definitely be suspicious of what you did online. If you

don't want him to have any negative feelings towards you, then push all the blame onto Molly!"

Kian directly mentioned Molly's name, causing Sean's face to stiffen instantly. Kian gave him a deep

look before turning around and leaving without waiting for a response.

As he passed by the entranceway, Kian casually placed his phone on the shoe rack and wiped away

any fingerprints or traces.

After leaving Sean's place, Kian got into his car and instructed his accompanying bodyguard: "Delete

all surveillance records of our visit here. Don't leave anything that Preston can use against us."

"Understood," replied the bodyguard, nodding in agreement.

The car then drove straight towards Simpson Group's office.

Half an hour later in Mr. Simpson's office, Kian knocked on the door before walking in. He looked at the

man sitting behind a desk and said, "Mr. Simpson, I've obtained what we needed," said Kian

immediately upon entering. "On my way back here I checked into it further. There was one number

belonging to Campole which had been contacted frequently by Sean, but since there was no name

attached to it nor could its owner be traced due to it being a temporary number. We might need to go to

Campole to have a check."

Ayan looked up at Kian, his handsome face revealing an indifferent look, and his pale skin was

particularly clear in the sunlight. He leaned faintly on the leather office chair behind him for nearly half a

minute before he slowly said, "Don't bother going there. Isn't there someone already available for us?"

asked Ayan calmly while leaning back onto his leather chair with half-lidded eyes.

"Are you referring to Eileen?" asked Kian curiously.

"If she wants me to help her when she gets thrown aside by Preston, then naturally she won't mind

helping me out either," replied Ayan nonchalantly, as if this was something obvious enough not worth

mentioning again.

"But Eileen is still not entirely trustworthy since she is tied together with Preston after all," pointed out

Kian feeling uneasy about relying too much on Eileen, given her cunning personality which he had

witnessed firsthand during their time together in Hance City previously; surely it wouldn't have changed

much.

Ayan laughed indifferently, saying, "Her life in Campole isn't easy either. Cora's disappearance and her

relationship with Austin being exposed have made the Norman family keep a close eye on her. And

with Austin not being around in Campole, do you think she can live comfortably? Arrange for two

people to assist her. One to keep an eye on her and the other to help investigate this matter."

Kian understood Ayan's meaning. It was better to find someone who had a stake in this investigation

instead of handling it himself. It would be easier that way without having to get his hands dirty.

However, Kian still had some concerns and asked quietly, "Mr. Simpson, will Mrs. Simpson be unhappy

if she finds out about this?" novelbin

Ayan gave him a cold look that silenced him immediately. Kian explained huttiedly, "I talked too much."

Then Ayan signaled him to leave.

Kian's words made sense as he had released Sean but hadn't told Camille yet. She would eventually

find out, since Sean was close to Preston and always around.

Ayan sighed silently as his expression turned somber. He couldn't hide anything from Camille anymore;

otherwise their relationship would go back to square one.

Even if it meant jumping into an abyss ahead of him, he would do it, because she was the love of his

life.

After Kian left with his men, Sean sat motionless on the sofa, staring blankly ahead while trying not to

let his emotions get the best of him after hearing what Kian said earlier about Ayan knowing everything

he did with Molly.

He knew Ayan only caught him for what he did to Camille earlier, but now that he questioned Elijah's

connection with Preston made Sean doubt Ayan's true intentions.

Why would he was released so easily without Preston doing anything? Sean felt uneasy thinking of it.

Ayan would not let him off.

The thought sent shivers down Sean's spine, making it hard for him to calm down.

But there wasn't much he could do at this point since any sudden reaction might make Preston

suspicious, which was something Sean couldn't afford right now.

His mind raced, causing great unease within himself, leaving no peace or comfort behind.

Sean lost his appetite when he saw the food in front of him. His phone rang, but it wasn't in his pocket

or on the sofa. It was coming from the hallway. He frowned and walked to the shoe cabinet to grab his

phone, thinking that he probably left it there when he came home last night.

It was Preston calling.

He quickly answered, "Mr. Walker!"

Preston's voice was indifferent as he asked, "Where are you?"

"I went out this morning. I didn't want to disturb you since you were still resting. I found a new place to

live," Sean gave Preston the address and explained carefully, "I thought about what you said last night

and realized that living in my old place with people I know isn't very suitable for me right now. I'll stay

here for a while before finding another place."

Preston didn't care about this and simply said, "Come over now."

Sean immediately replied, "Okay, I'll go now."

He couldn't even eat anymore so he changed clothes quickly before heading straight to Preston's

place. When he arrived Preston had just finished showering and his hair was still dripping water as he

leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window soaking up some sun with an air of aloofness.

Seeing him like this made Sean afraid to speak too loudly, so he stood quietly on one side waiting for

Preston's instructions.

His demeanor made Preston smirked and say teasingly,"Sean, what's wrong with you? Why do you

seem scared of me? Ayan is the one who took you away not me! Why do you have such fear towards

me? What are you afraid of?"

Sean shook his head hastily,"I'm not scared! It's just that... I'm worried..."

"Worried? What are you worried about?" asked Preston expressionlessly while sitting down.

"I'm worried about what Ayan will do next after taking me away without doing anything bad this time. He

let me go back safely by your side which makes me feel uneasy." Sean replied while keeping his eyes

lowered.

"Don't worry; if your return means nothing happened then there is no need for concern." responded

Preston coldly staring at him with an intense gaze filled with chilling indifference . Though his

expression remained gentle as usual, it sent shivers down Sean's spine, making him feel

uncomfortable .

Sean couldn't even look directly at him, his heart pounding with nervousness and unease. He didn't

know if Preston had noticed his reaction or not, but the coldness in his expression only grew stronger.

Finally, he asked in a detached tone, "Sean, do you have anything to do with what happened to

Camille?"
