Chapter 1229: False Words

Chapter 1229: False Words

He said, "I've already said it, I will definitely bring her back to Flento City. So, for now, focus on building

a relationship with her. She's grateful to you, and I believe that with sincere efforts, you will soon go

back to how things were before."

After Mario finished speaking, he continued to gaze at Mrs. King, as if telling her that it was time to

make a phone call.

Mrs. King was actually reluctant, but she had no choice. Mario was her only son, and now that he had

achieved success, all that was left was for him to start a family.

However, Mario's personal matters had always troubled her. Although he had a previous fiancée, it

didn't work out in the end. This made Mrs. King increasingly worried. If Mario insisted on Sienna, what

if something unexpected happened in the future? Sienna wouldn't be able to help him in any way!

Mrs. King's worries deepened as these thoughts crossed her mind.

But under Mario's prolonged gaze, she ultimately had to nod.

In front of Mario, Mrs. King dialed Sienna's number. The call connected quickly, and it was unexpected

for Sienna, as she hadn't received a call from Mrs. King for several days.

Sienna softly said, "Mom."

She still addressed Mrs. King as "Mom."

Mrs. King gently replied, "Hmm, it's me. Are you busy?"

Sienna said, "Hmm, not busy."

Sienna had just left the company and was preparing to go home.

Mrs. King said, "Shall we have dinner together tonight?"

"Tonight?" Sienna asked uncertainly.

"Yes, tonight," Mrs. King confirmed.

Sienna hesitated for a moment and then asked, "Just the two of us?"

Mrs. King's eyes instinctively glanced at Mario beside her. Since the call was on speakerphone, Mario

could naturally hear what Sienna was saying.

Mario's expression instantly became solemn because he knew exactly what Sienna meant with that

question. However, he didn't make any move, and Mrs. King simply replied, "Hmm, just the two of us.

It's been several days since we had a meal together as a mother and daughter."

"Okay, what do you want to eat? I'll come pick you up later!" Sienna's joy instantly surfaced upon

hearing that it would only be the two of them. Her voice carried an unmistakable delight as she said, "I'll

come over now. Later, we can go shopping. I found a nice fruit shop; I'll accompany you to take a look."

Mrs. King also sensed the excitement in Sienna's words. Sienna was considerate, and Mrs. King loved

her daughter dearly. However, compared to Mario, there was no comparison.

Mrs. King also happily agreed and then ended the call. She put down her phone and instinctively

looked at Mario beside her. She said, "You heard it too. Perhaps she really doesn't have any thoughts

about you in any aspect. She..."

"Even if she doesn't, I still want to bring her back. She doesn't belong here. She is a part of the King

family, and she will be for the rest of her life." Mario's tone was firm, without any room for negotiation.

After he finished speaking, he didn't wait for Mrs. King to respond and continued, "Get ready. Since she

came to pick you up in person, there must still be some feelings left for you."

Mario's tone was particularly cold, and then he had someone escort Mrs. King back to her room.

Mrs. King sighed silently, feeling quite helpless.

Back in her room, Mrs. King asked her secretary, "Has he always been alone? Is there no one of the

opposite sex around him?"

The secretary subconsciously showed a troubled expression. It was about Mario's affairs, so he didn't

dare to say too much.

Mrs. King also noticed the secretary's reluctance to respond, and her expression became less

pleasant. She indifferently said, "Alright, you may leave."

Mrs. King sighed helplessly, feeling unsure about what to do with Mario.

She quickly tidied up and then received a call from Sienna before leaving.

Sienna took Mrs. King to a fruit shop and bought some fruits that were unique to Hance City, intending

to bring them back to the hotel for Mrs. King to enjoy later. Then they went to have coconut chicken

together.

Sienna was exceptionally enthusiastic towards Mrs. King, and their interaction was no longer as distant

and cold as when Mrs. King first arrived.

During the meal, Sienna looked at Mrs. King and couldn't help but ask, "Mom, what have you been

doing these past few days? I've been busy, so I haven't had time to accompany you."

"Your brother arranged for someone to accompany me and show me around Hance City."

"Hmm, you must have been bored by yourself, right?"

"It's fine." Mrs. King replied indifferently.

It was evident that Mrs. King had no interest in answering this question, probably because it was

difficult to pass the time alone.

But Sienna didn't stop there. After a brief pause, she spoke again, "Mom, I have to go to Flento City in

a few days. Do you want me to accompany you back?"

As soon as Mrs. King heard that Sienna was going back to Flento City, her face instantly stiffened. Shenovelbin

furrowed her brows and stared at Sienna without blinking. She asked, "Why are you going to Flento

City?"

Mrs. King's reaction was quite intense, and her gaze towards Sienna became more serious.

Sienna didn't know what was going on with Mrs. King and could only ask, "Mom, what's wrong?"

Mrs. King's expression turned extremely serious, and there were indescribable emotions in her eyes.

She said coldly, "Sienna, since you're already married, you shouldn't leave Hance City casually, right?"

Sienna didn't understand the meaning behind Mrs. King's words. She could only smile lightly and say,

"Mom, I'm just going to Flento City to look at wedding dresses. The Ward family is planning the

wedding, and both Rex and I have some free time in the next few days, so we decided to go together

and compare dresses from different shops. I've already seen the options in Hance City, but I want to

see more for comparison."

In addition, there was an important matter. Although Sienna had transferred her residency, she still had

an apartment in Flento City that she planned to sell. Only then would she truly cut ties with Flento City.

But she wouldn't tell Mrs. King about all this just yet, as it wasn't the right time.

After hearing Sienna's explanation, Mrs. King still didn't understand and persisted, "There are better

options elsewhere. Why do you insist on going to Flento City?"

Sienna smiled and asked, "Mom, don't you want me to go back to Flento City?"

Mrs. King's face stiffened for a moment, and she didn't answer Sienna's question for quite some time,

implicitly giving her consent.

Sienna was quite surprised by this, seemingly not expecting it. She asked, "Mom, what's wrong with

you?"

Mrs. King's expression became very unpleasant, as if she had a heavy burden on her mind. Sienna

could clearly see it and couldn't help but ask, "Mom, what happened?"

Mrs. King pursed her lips, recalling Sienna's words from before. Sienna had told her that she loved her

current husband deeply and that he treated her well, and her heart wouldn't change. Sienna had

explicitly stated this to her.

After hesitating several times, Mrs. King decided to tell Sienna. She said, "Don't go to Flento City. He

said he wants to bring you back there, so don't go."

After hearing Mrs. King's words, Sienna's face also stiffened. Her eyes filled with a thick emotion, and

her voice became low as she said, "Does he have the power to do that? Can he just take a living

person and bring them back?"

Sienna couldn't help but ridicule herself. She looked at Mrs. King, feeling that there was no need to

prolong certain matters any further. She said, "Mom, do you remember what I told you? I only have

sibling-like feelings for him. If there's anything he needs help with in the future, my husband and I will

do our best, but that's all. I'm grateful to the King family for raising me, and I know I can never repay

that debt in my lifetime, but I won't compromise myself and do things I don't want to do just to repay

that kindness."

Sienna was very frank, telling Mrs. King that she wouldn't do anything for Mario, no matter what he did.

Mrs. King looked at Sienna, seriously trying to discern the truth in her words, and ultimately realized

that she wasn't lying.

But she couldn't do anything in front of Mario, so she didn't know what to do. She asked Sienna, "Then

what should we do?"
