Chapter 1199: Lonely

Chapter 1199: Lonely

He asked, "Is Preston still harboring feelings for Eileen?"

Ayan didn't say anything, just smirked.

He always enjoyed teasing Rex because he knew Rex had a curious nature. So he deliberately

amplified Rex's curiosity, slowly drawing him in, but never revealing the final outcome.

Now that Ayan had achieved his goal, he naturally refused to say another word.

This made Rex extremely uncomfortable, as if his heart was being scratched. He kept pestering Ayan

for answers, but Ayan refused to give in. He smiled lightly and said, "The more curious you are, the

less I want to tell you. What can you do about it? Does it make you uncomfortable?"

Rex was driven crazy by the torment, but what could he do? He couldn't do anything except endure it.

Unable to swallow his pride, Rex's only solution was to go find Camille.

He complained to Camille, "Cami, Ayan is so cruel. He's toying with my curiosity!"

Camille already knew about Rex's strong curiosity, so when she heard him say that, she exchanged a

glance with Sienna and couldn't help but laugh. "He's playing with your curiosity? What did he say to

pique your interest?"

"He said that no matter what Eileen does, Preston will always choose to believe her. I asked him about

their relationship, but Ayan refused to say. He clearly didn't want to tell me, but he still revealed so

much. Isn't that torturous?" Rex explained.

Camille laughed, and Sienna joined in. Sienna said, "Why are you so curious? Aren't you just asking for

trouble?"

Rex, feeling wronged, sat down next to Sienna and said, "I wanted to know so that I could tell you all

afterward. But Ayan refused to say anything."

Camille lightly smiled and said, "I feel like your curiosity and your eagerness to know resemble that of

an undercover agent for either Preston or Eileen."

Rex paused for a moment and subconsciously looked at Camille. "Cami, you can't accuse me like that.

How could I be that kind of person? I'm not like that at all."

"In that case, stop being curious. You'll find out after the matter is resolved," Camille reminded him,

while Sienna rolled her eyes at him. Rex finally gave up and stopped asking any further questions.

The four of them lazed around at home for the whole morning. They had things to take care of in the

afternoon, so after chatting for a while, Sienna and Rex went home.

Ayan sat down next to Camille and said, "Take a rest. I need to go out for a while."

"Where are you going?" Camille asked softly.

He answered truthfully, "I found that gossip reporter. I've already had Kian take him directly to the

police station. I'm planning to hold a live press conference to clarify things, and both Eileen and the

gossip reporter will attend. The location will be at the police station."

Ayan made this decision on a whim, and he had just found the gossip reporter. When he spoke to Kian

on the phone, there was still no news. So it had only been about ten minutes.

Only by involving the police would those nosy netizens not think that this matter was orchestrated by

Ayan or the Simpson Group.

Camille asked, "Should I come with you?"

"No need. You stay home and rest. I'll handle the live broadcast. And once I hold this clarification

conference at the police station, Preston will definitely snap out of it and contact you immediately. You

just need to pretend that you don't know anything. It's not possible to completely expose Preston's true

face over this small matter. So you don't need to confront him completely," Ayan explained his plan and

the current situation to Camille in detail. He didn't hide anything from her, but he wanted Camille to be

cautious around Preston. He couldn't monitor Camille all the time, and even though she was alert to

Preston, tigers also had moments of drowsiness. He feared the unforeseen.

Camille understood his intentions very well, so she obediently nodded.

Ayan held Camille's hand and walked to the staircase. After seeing Camille upstairs, he finally left the

villa.

The driver had already arrived early and was waiting at the front gate of the villa. They got into the car

and headed straight towards the police station.

Ayan entered the police station through the side entrance since he wanted to hold the live clarification

there. The main entrance of the police station was already crowded with several media outlets. These

media outlets were quite authoritative in Hance City, with a large following and high credibility.

Upon reaching the police station, Kian was already waiting at the entrance. He proactively reported,

"Mr. Simpson, most of the media have arrived, and the police have been briefed. Eileen has beennovelbin

taken to the meeting room. Do you want to go there?"

Ayan's expression turned slightly pale. He squinted his eyes, lost in thought, and remained silent for a

moment before responding, "Hmm, let's go and have a look."

Kian led Ayan to the meeting room and without knocking, he pushed the door open. Eileen was sitting

inside and instinctively looked up. Her pale and haggard appearance made it difficult for Ayan to

recognize her. After all, when he went to the Simpson Group to find her yesterday, she was still radiant.

It was only after spending a night and a morning at the police station that she had changed so

drastically.

Eileen also noticed Ayan and stared at him with a hint of excitement in her emotions. She exclaimed,

"Ayan!"

She subconsciously wanted to stand up, but her hand was held back, forcing her to remain seated and

restricted in her movements.

Ayan glanced at her lightly, stepped forward, but didn't sit down. He just looked down at her from a

higher vantage point and asked in a cold tone, "You should consider yourself now. Even if you have a

common goal, you can't sacrifice yourself every time, can you?"

Eileen's complexion changed, and her eyes immediately filled with desolation. She lowered her head,

her thoughts unknown, and didn't respond to Ayan's words.

Ayan's tone remained icy as he continued, "We've known each other for so many years, and every act

of tolerance erodes our bond. How much more can you bear? So you better make the right choice;

otherwise, you'll end up ruining your life like Louise."

Eileen's face turned pale, her eyes filled with vacancy. She seemed to be absorbed by Ayan's words,

and her expression grew increasingly cold and rigid.

Ayan didn't say anything more and simply glanced at her before saying, "Think it over. If you've made

up your mind, inform Kian, and she will take you to the live broadcast venue."

After Ayan finished speaking, he left the meeting room.

Moments later, the live broadcast officially began.

With the police providing an introduction to the entire situation, the main points of the live clarification

conference were explained in detail.

Although Ayan would be leaving the country, the police were the ones organizing this event, so for now,

no one had guessed the reason behind the live conference.

A representative from the police mentioned recent events, including the long-standing and now closed

case of Louise.
