Chapter 1198: Let Go

Chapter 1198: Let Go

Sienna couldn't help but speak up when she saw the situation. "Cheer up, everyone. We know what

game Preston is playing. Let's just treat it like taking a dog for a walk. When the dog gets tired, it will

naturally lie down, and that's when the owner strikes."

"Shall we play cards? I've called Rex back, and today he's ready to risk it all for you, Ayan!" Sienna

said and got up to find the cards from their housekeeper.

The atmosphere in the living room instantly quieted down. Camille looked at Ayan, who was sitting

silently beside her, and expressed her concern. "Ayan, are you okay?"

Ayan met Camille's gaze, gently held her hand, and whispered, "I'm fine. I'm just thinking about what

Preston will do next."

Camille approached Ayan proactively, resting her head on his shoulder, and spoke in a gentle voice.

"No matter what he does, I'll be by your side, standing with you."

"Thank you," Ayan sincerely expressed his happiness. Initially, he had been quite anxious because he

wasn't sure where Camille's heart stood. Preston had been her friend and had helped her a lot. At first,

Ayan strongly opposed their relationship, but he gradually started considering it from Camille's

perspective and tried to understand her. And now, without hesitation, Camille stood by his side.

Thinking about all this, Ayan naturally tightened his grip on Camille's hand. His voice became hoarse

as he said, "I don't need you to do anything. Just believe in me and stand with me. That's all I need."

Camille nodded softly. "I know."

They spent the entire morning at home. Rex, who had been called back by Sienna, kept saying, "I've

abandoned my work to accompany you, Ayan. Don't forget this favor!"

Sienna and Camille laughed on the side, while Ayan calmly glanced at Rex. "You're just a tool. Even if

I'm grateful, it's not for you, right?"

"Am I a tool? Listen to the things this person is saying! Isn't he hurting my feelings?" Rex complained to

Camille and Sienna, wearing a clear expression of dissatisfaction.

Watching Rex get angry, everyone's mood became even more cheerful.

They had lunch at Camille and Ayan's house. The housekeeper prepared a spicy boiled fish, which was

exceptionally appetizing. The four of them ate a large portion, along with some other spicy dishes.

It was a day of extreme spiciness.novelbin

After the meal, Camille and Sienna lay on the sofa in the living room, enjoying the cool breeze from the

air conditioning, while Ayan and Rex went to the tea room next to the dining area to have tea.

It was during this time that Kian called.

On the phone, Kian reported, "Mr. Simpson, we found the gossip journalist. He admitted that Preston

bribed him, and we have transferrecords, as well as video and audio recordings of their meetings. Most

of their meetings took place in locations without surveillance cameras, so we don't have video evidence

of their encounters yet."

Ayan asked indifferently, "What does Eileen have to say about this?"

Kian replied, "Eileen keeps insisting on getting out of there. Apart from that, she doesn't have much

else to say."

"Let her think about it carefully. If she can't come up with anything else, what does she have to offer in

exchange for her release?" Ayan sneered, his coldness becoming more apparent. He continued, "Tell

Eileen that she knows what I want to know, and if she keeps playing dumb, she'll be the one who

suffers in the end. The police won't wait for her forever."

Eileen thought that simply providing a way to contact Preston would be enough to secure her release,

but that was an impossible request. Now that Preston took the bait, it was up to Eileen to speak up.

Ayan had always wanted to know what Preston's intentions were. Was he solely targeting him or the

entire Simpson family? However, Eileen kept evading the question, constantly changing the subject. As

Ayan's patience wore thin, he gradually lost interest in pursuing that question.

Eileen, so far, couldn't fully grasp the situation. She still held the belief that Ayan wouldn't dare to do

anything to her. This caused a hint of indifference to surface on Ayan's face. Just before ending the

call, he spoke up, "Tell Eileen that if she refuses to speak up, then she should never speak up again."

Ayan's words instantly stiffened Rex's face as he sat across from him, sipping his tea. The threat in his

words was palpable. Rex's expression turned dark and cold as he looked at Ayan. After Ayan hung up

the phone, Rex's voice slowly and leisurely sounded, as he looked at Ayan and asked tentatively, "Are

you planning to take action against Eileen? Make her completely disappear from this world?"

Ayan furrowed his brows slightly, and his indifferent gaze swept over Rex's figure as if looking at a fool.

He said, "Am I the King of Hell?"

Rex straightened his posture and smiled, saying, "I'm just worried that you might do something foolish!"

Ayan only squinted his eyes, his expression still very cold.

Seeing that he remained silent, Rex asked again, "Why aren't you saying anything? What do you plan

to do about this matter?"

"It's not about what I plan to do, but what Eileen and Preston plan to do."

"Those two? They are colluding with each other. What else can they do? Of course, they will team up

to deceive you. I don't think you should put all your hopes on Eileen. She's just a pawn. If she chooses

to join forces with Preston to deceive you, what will you do then?"

"This question shouldn't be directed at me. It's a question Eileen has to face. And as for me, I want a

result." Ayan picked up his teacup, brought it to his lips, took a sip, and his expression remained

indifferent. He said, "Eileen has taken the first step, and there will be second and third steps to come.

Do you think Preston will still trust her once he knows of her betrayal?"

"Are you suggesting that you want to drag her down and completely break ties with Preston?"

Rex asked opportunistically, but Ayan didn't answer. He just raised his gaze and looked outside the

window, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. The smile held a deeper meaning, but Rex

had no idea what he was thinking, and his curiosity grew as he looked at Ayan in this state.

He asked, "Ayan, stop playing games. What are you implying?"

"If it were you, would you still believe in Eileen?"

"Of course not." Rex denied without hesitation. He said, "I can't possibly trust someone who betrayed

me."

"But Preston will."

"What?"

"After being betrayed, he still believes?" Rex found it unbelievable. But then he thought about it, there

must be many hidden secrets behind this, right?
