Chapter 1079: Going Mad

Chapter 1079: Going Mad

The man spoke at a measured pace, "Master Armstrong, I can help you regain control of Armstrong

Corp, so you won't have to rely on others and play by their rules. As far as I know, Horace hasnovelbin

collaborated with Ayan. Have you ever doubted whether Horace's confidence is related to Ayan? He's

not a native of Hance City and wouldn't dare to disrespect you. Perhaps Ayan played a role in

instigating this?"

The man's words struck a chord with Brody, touching on his pride and concerns. He valued his image

and didn't want anyone looking down on him, let alone someone opposing him and winning.

Although Brody didn't show much emotion, his heart was racing with excitement.

The man seemed to understand Brody's thoughts, hence his straightforward words. Brody kept silent

for a while, and the man's voice returned, "Master Armstrong, you may think I'm gaining more from this,

but consider that some things can't be measured solely by quantity."

Brody gazed at the man, unsure of his intentions. The tension in the room was palpable, and after a

lengthy pause, Brody finally responded, "I can choose to cooperate with you, but I need you to sign an

agreement. If you successfully regain control of Armstrong Corp for me, it must remain unrelated to

you. You can gain a foothold in Hance City through our association, but Armstrong Corp will be

completely separate."

Brody had been through too much and was determined not to make any concessions.

Understanding Brody's nature, the man accepted without revealing his true intentions, "Of course, to

put Master Armstrong at ease, I'm willing to cooperate. I believe in your capabilities and integrity; you

won't let me work in vain."

Brody remained silent, giving the man a calm look. Their eyes met, and a connection of understanding

passed between them.

Out of the blue, Brody asked, "Why did you choose to cooperate with me? We don't share any

sentimental ties, and our relationship is purely transactional."

The man smiled calmly and responded, "Master Armstrong is aware of my connection with Cami, aren't

you? Cami might be momentarily led astray, but I don't want her to go too far down the wrong path. I

need her to turn back. So cooperating with you is akin to working with Cami. I don't have any ulterior

motives. Even if it's just for Cami, I will give it my all."

Master Armstrong, initially skeptical and untrusting, found no words to doubt the sincerity of the man's

intentions.

When there's a reason involved, actions are often more than just talk.

Brody nodded and extended his hand, saying, "Then let's have a fruitful partnership!"

The man reached out and shook Brody's hand, making no further delays to avoid arousing suspicion or

overthinking on Brody's part.

After leaving the Armstrong's villa, the man didn't immediately depart. He sat in his car, lit a cigarette,

and kept his eyes on the Armstrong's villa. The expression on his face grew cold. At that moment, a car

pulled up at the villa's entrance, and Page stepped out. As he watched Page go inside, the man's gaze

turned indifferent.

He finished his cigarette, pushed open the car door, and returned to the Armstrong's villa. He rang the

doorbell, and the same servant who had let him in earlier promptly appeared, offering a polite greeting

upon recognizing him.

The man didn't enter the villa but instead handed a black bag to the servant, saying, "Could you do me

a favor?"

The servant looked puzzled.

The man remained calm and composed, explaining, "Just a small favor that won't cause you any harm

or danger. As you know, I had a lengthy conversation with Master Armstrong earlier. His request is for

me to communicate with you and ask you to pay close attention to Mrs. Armstrong's every move in the

house. If she intends to go out, you should contact me immediately. Remember, you can't tell Master

Armstrong directly about this. Because they are husband and wife, there are certain matters that can't

be handled directly."

The servant stared at him, still uncertain, and asked, "Why does Master Armstrong want to watch Mrs.

Armstrong so closely?"

"That's not for you to ask. Your duty is to handle the contents of this bag and keep your mouth shut. For

your benefit, silence is golden. As for the Armstrong family, do you think it belongs to Master Armstrong

or Mrs. Armstrong?"

The servant hesitated, recognizing the deeper meaning behind the man's words.

Without waiting for a response, the man handed over the bag with a smile, saying, "We'll stay in touch.

Thank you for your cooperation."

With that, he left the area. The servant stood there for a while, still in shock, not knowing how to react.

He eventually opened the bag, finding a stack of money, estimated to be a small fortune. This was

equivalent to two months' wages for the Armstrong family's staff. Due to issues with Armstrong Corp,

the family had been withholding their employees' salaries for the past month. While the staff had voiced

their displeasure privately, the long-time employees chose to give the family some time to recover.

However, Page and Brody's recent tempers were explosive, making work more challenging. The sight

of this substantial amount of money was indeed tempting for the household staff.

Furthermore, they only had to watch Page's every move; they didn't need to continue surveillance once

she left the house. It was a relatively easy task that came with substantial compensation, making it a

worthwhile endeavor.

Unbeknownst to Brody and Page, this scene played out behind the scenes.

Upon Page's return, there was minimal communication with Brody. She received a warning from Brody

not to provoke Camille further, as any negative consequences that Camille's provocation brought to the

Armstrong family would be Page's responsibility.

Brody's words left Page's face less than pleasant. She didn't linger in the living room and headed

straight upstairs.

Upon returning to her bedroom, Page immediately retrieved a business card from her bag, the one she

had casually taken from Yessica's desk during her visit to Camille's company.

She dialed the number listed for Yessica, and once the call was answered, she immediately said, "I'm

looking for Camille."

Yessica recognized Page's voice and responded with a lack of enthusiasm, "Who are you?"

"I'm her mother."

"Sorry, I don't know you!" Yessica replied curtly before hanging up.

She added Page's number to her blacklist. Yessica promptly informed Camille about this, to which

Camille responded, "Don't bother with her."

Ayan was already handling the matter, so Camille didn't want further contact with Page, as too much

interaction seemed to worsen Page's mental state.

In the afternoon, Camille couldn't find the motivation to continue working, so Sienna took her to the

restaurant they had planned to visit. The restaurant wasn't far from their workplace, so they decided to

walk and take the opportunity to unwind and clear their minds.

As they strolled and chatted, time passed quickly. When they arrived at the restaurant, it wasn't exactly

mealtime, but there were still patrons enjoying their food. The restaurant staff provided excellent

service and were warmly welcoming, making Camille and Sienna feel comfortable.

After they were seated, they ordered a few dishes and waited for their food. During this time, Sienna

began, "Cami, I want to talk to you about something. I intended to tell you this morning, but I got busy

when I got to the office, and then all those frustrating things happened."

Sienna spoke with a serious tone, making Camille wonder, "What is it? You didn't do something to

upset me, did you? Do you have a new friend I don't know about?"

Sienna couldn't help but smile and responded calmly, "No, it's not that."

"Then what is it?" Camille asked with curiosity.
