Chapter 1075: A Commotion

Chapter 1075: A Commotion

Brody couldn't pretend he didn't understand the implications of these words. His expression turned

instantly serious, and he fixed Camille with a cold, displeased stare. But Camille was unfazed and just

looked at him with indifference.

Without waiting for Brody to speak, Camille continued, "You can deny it, but the fact remains that I don't

know what you and your wife are trying to get from me. But if you attempt to threaten me by involving

someone I care about, I won't hesitate to cause chaos."

Camille's face remained stern, and her eyes were resolute. This was not mere talk.

Normally, as a daughter, she would never say these things to her own parents, but from Camille's

perspective, she had reached her limit.

The Armstrong family had been unfeeling toward her repeatedly, and she could bear the humiliation by

herself. However, she couldn't allow the people she cared about to suffer alongside her.

Camille thought about all this, lips tightly pursed, her expression growing colder. She turned to Brody

and said, "Of course, you can be indifferent to me exposing your secrets, but when the unsavory truth

comes out, it won't just be you who's affected."

Perhaps Camille's words struck a chord in Brody's heart, as he finally reacted. His dark eyes, filled with

displeasure, were no longer cold. He asked in a deep voice, "Did your mother tell you these things?"

Camille gazed at Brody indifferently and replied, "You can't deny that your relationship isn't as

harmonious as it seems on the surface, can you? There are things that I wouldn't have known if no one

had told me. If I did find out, in our relationship, I wouldn't have any interest in coming to tell you, would

I?"novelbin

Brody, with a stern face, didn't continue this topic. He asked Camille, "What conditions do you want?"

"Don't worry; I don't want anything conflicting with your interests. I only hope she won't bother me

anymore. I also hope that none of you will bother me or the people from the Simpson family. To you,

we're dispensable anyway, so whether I have any contact with you doesn't matter. This condition only

benefits you."

Camille's tone was devoid of emotion. In a place Brody couldn't see, her hands were clenched into

fists.

Brody didn't respond immediately and couldn't provide an answer right away. He maintained his

silence, seemingly contemplating and hesitating.

Camille added, "I chose to talk to you, believing you to be more rational. I hope you'll think carefully

because my condition doesn't harm you in any way."

"She knows about my affairs, how much?"

"She probably knows most of what you've done," Camille replied.

Camille was unsure how much Brody had concealed from her, so she couldn't be certain how much

Page knew.

After all, both of them had hidden so much from each other. They hadn't been open or honest,

especially not with her.

Camille's words were somewhat vague, so Brody couldn't determine a clear answer.

The atmosphere grew increasingly quiet. Sienna spoke up, "Master Armstrong, if I were you, I'd agree.

You just need to keep Mrs. Armstrong in check. If she teams up with Cami, have you considered the

consequences?"

Brody paused for a moment, carefully considering Sienna's words. He seemed to anticipate the

unfavorable consequences, his expression growing visibly unpleasant.

He asked, "How can I be sure if you genuinely want to cooperate with me, or if she sent you here to

deceive me?"

Camille chuckled, "I told you, I'm not that bored. You also know how she's been relentlessly bothering

me lately, right? I find it annoying, and I don't want this situation to continue. I'm eager to free myself

from her harassment. If I had really chosen to cooperate with her, I wouldn't be standing here now."

Brody fell into silence again, his expression dark as ink.

He squinted and thought deeply for nearly half a minute before he finally spoke slowly, "Fine, I can help

you restrain her from bothering you, but can you guarantee that she won't reveal my secrets?"

"As long as you're cautious right now, as long as you don't leave her any evidence, she'll only be

making baseless claims. If she does expose everything, I'll stand as your witness."

"Alright, I'll cooperate with you, but I have a condition," Brody said indifferently.

"What's the condition?"

"The shares under your name, you take them back from Horace and sell them to me."

Camille chuckled lightly and thought Brody was being a bit too cunning. She said, "Don't you think

that's unfair to me?"

Brody remained silent, effectively denying Camille's words.

Camille continued, "Of course, you can choose not to agree. After all, I'm only briefly bothered by her.

My loss doesn't amount to much. But for you, your losses aren't just limited to financial interests, but

also your reputation."

After all, Brody had built up an image as a devoted father and husband. Once that image crumbled, all

the years of effort and dedication would be in vain.

Camille was very confident that Brody would agree. It was only a matter of time.

After several minutes of deadlock, Brody's composed face eased slightly, and he said, "Alright, I'll

cooperate with you, but I expect you to keep your word."

"Of course," Camille responded indifferently.

Since they had reached an agreement, there was no need to linger further.

Camille left the Armstrong's villa and got into her car. She turned to Sienna sitting beside her and

asked, "Did we just resemble complete strangers negotiating for our own interests?"

"To tell you the truth?" Sienna asked in a low voice.

Camille replied with a smile, "Of course, let's be honest; it's not something we can't talk about."

Camille's smile carried a hint of resignation.

Sienna let out a silent sigh and said, "The truth is, some relationships can't be forced. If you can't force

them, why should you keep sacrificing yourself? While sacrificing yourself, you're actually trying to

please others, even if it's your parents. But being treated with indifference repeatedly, being seen as a

mere pawn for their benefit – such relationships are dispensable."

After all, in the beginning, it wasn't Camille who had wronged this relationship. She had tried hard and

attempted to make changes, but in the end, there was no change at all.

Sienna said many things and consoled Camille a lot.

Camille was well aware of the situation herself. Everything was already set in stone, and even if there

were changes now, they wouldn't be genuine. If there were any sincerity, they would have already

started changing, not waiting until now.

Camille silently thought to herself, a deep sense of helplessness filling her heart.

But she believed that reaching an agreement with Brody should resolve everything, or at least make

Page stop going insane.

However, Camille was overly optimistic.

Page's actions in the hospital were recorded by the patients and bystanders in the ward and shared on

the internet. Thanks to a certain video-sharing platform that attracted people from all around the world,

it had become a massive social platform, with traffic rivalling that of any forum or Twitter.

At least, for the time being, that's how it was.

The videos of a mother injured in a car accident, hospitalized, and her daughter refusing to show up to

care for her, even mistreating her mother in favor of her ex-husband's family, had naturally stirred up

discussions and garnered a crowd of onlookers.

These videos were being passed around, and in just a single morning, the topic had blown up on the

short-video platform.
