Chapter 1011: Furious

Chapter 1011: Furious

Camille's voice was neither too light nor too heavy, but it was clear enough for Ayan to hear.

He didn't mind and walked over, letting the servant set the dim sum on the table. Then, he greeted the

old Simpson at the dining table. "Grandpa."

The old Simpson nodded lightly and asked, "Why are you back?"

"I've come back to have dinner with you." He replied with a faint smile, but his deep gaze shifted

towards the woman beside him. The look in his eyes was profound, and even though the woman didn't

meet his gaze, she could clearly feel his gaze on her.

As a result, she felt somewhat awkward and stiff in her every move.

The old Simpson and Talia, who were engaged in conversation, naturally didn't notice the subtle

exchange between the two. The old Simpson casually said, "I don't need your company. You're busy

with your work. I have your mother and Cami here."

Ayan sighed helplessly. "Grandpa, I would be very disappointed if you act like this. After all, I've come

back. Should I leave now?"

The old Simpson replied, "You can leave."

"Bring my dim sum over. I knew you'd treat me like this, so maybe I shouldn't have bought it for you."

Ayan pretended to be annoyed, but he had already picked up his chopsticks to eat.

The old Simpson snorted lightly. "Dr. Ellis told me to eat less sweet food. Are you sure you bought them

for me?"

Ayan didn't speak but just gave a faint smile.

Talia, who was nearby, seemed to have figured it out and sighed, "Ah, don't tell me you bought them for

me?"

Ayan naturally understood the teasing in this statement, but he didn't respond. Instead, he glanced at

his Mom with a hint of pleading in his eyes, as if he was telling her not to say anything more.

This meal became somewhat different with Ayan's presence. Most of the time, Ayan and the old

Simpson were engaged in conversation, while Camille, who used to have the most conversations with

the old Simpson, became silent.

Talia, of course, noticed this and realized that there must be some minor disagreement between the

two. Otherwise, Camille wouldn't have stayed silent, and Ayan wouldn't have made a special trip back

to the Simpson's mansion in the middle of the day. Although it wasn't very far from Simpson Group to

the Simpson's mansion, Ayan was always busy, so there was no need for him to come back.

Thinking about the current relationship between the two, her face also showed a hint of worry.

However, seeing Ayan's changes and his initiative, she relaxed slightly.

After the meal, Talia volunteered, "I'll accompany Timmy upstairs for a while. You can chat with

grandpa."

This was just an excuse because the old Simpson couldn't stay up for long after eating. So, Talia was

giving Camille and Ayan some private time.

After a while, the old Simpson went back to his room with Kit's company.

Only Camille and Ayan were left in the dining room. Their eyes met for a moment, and Camille

immediately withdrew her gaze. She got up and walked away from the table.

Seeing this, Ayan immediately stepped forward, reached out, and grabbed her wrist. His voice was

gentle as he asked, "Where are you going?"

Camille instinctively tried to pull her hand away and said in a cold voice, "Let go of me."

Ayan smiled, tightened his grip, and pulled her into his arms. He asked softly, "Are you angry because I

didn't contact you all morning?"novelbin

Camille didn't say anything, but she let out a faint snort in her heart. Did he know everything and was

just pretending not to?

Did he want her to get used to his presence and then suddenly change?

Camille's expression grew even colder as she thought about this. She glared at Ayan and said in a

sharp tone, "So what? What are you trying to convey? Do you find it very satisfying?"

Ayan looked at her displeased face, and the smile at the corners of his mouth deepened. His voice

became even gentler as he replied, "I didn't want to convey anything at all. But I can't help but feel

happy when I see you unhappy. What should I do?"

Camille couldn't tolerate this any longer and didn't want to continue arguing with him. She struggled to

make him let go. "Let me go!" Camille said, displeased.

Ayan naturally didn't let go, and he didn't loosen his grip at all. He continued to hold her firmly and said

with a soft chuckle, "Don't be upset. I had a meeting this morning, and after it ended, I sent you a

message, but you didn't reply. I even called you, but I couldn't get through."

She didn't speak, and she didn't know if she had heard him or not.

He continued, "Don't believe me? Then open your phone and see, hmm?"

Seeing that she didn't move, Ayan reached into her pocket and took her phone, his voice gentle as he

said, "I don't know your password, okay?"

Camille pursed her lips slightly. From his tone, it didn't sound like he was lying. Besides, there was

nothing major at stake; he just wanted her to experience the feeling of being unreachable.

Camille let out a soft humph and snatched her phone back from him, saying in a calm tone, "Fine, I'll

give you a chance this time. I won't hold it against you, but don't make it a habit."

"Aren't you going to check your phone?" Ayan asked softly.

Camille replied, "No, I trust you. Don't you want me to trust you?"

"Why wouldn't I? I'm grateful, and thank you, Mrs. Simpson, for not holding it against me," he said

seriously.

Camille glanced at him and said, "Don't talk nonsense. I haven't agreed to anything yet. Don't forget

what our current relationship is."

"Do you have to annoy me deliberately?" he asked softly, his voice losing its strength, and his eyes

looking somewhat pitiful.

Camille couldn't help but smile and said, "Oh, come on, I was just kidding!"

Ayan let out a light chuckle, the coldness at the corner of his mouth very evident. Then, he took her

hand and pulled her outside. As they passed through the hallway connecting the dining room to the

main hall, he pressed her against the wall and kissed her.

Ayan didn't stay at the Simpson's mansion for long. When Camille was about to lose her temper, he

left.

If he stayed any longer, Camille was afraid she might not be able to control herself and might end up

killing him.

After Ayan left, Camille and Talia also left after saying their goodbyes.

When Camille said goodbye Talia, she pretended to cough behind the door, covering her mouth with

her hand. She didn't want Talia to see what had happened to her mouth. After all, anyone with eyes

could see what had happened.

After leaving the Simpson's mansion, Camille drove back to Franklin Bay. She didn't plan to go to the

company today. Her assistant had officially started working, so Sienna wasn't very busy.

Upon returning to Franklin Bay, Camille was reminded by the housekeeper, "Mrs. Simpson, there's a

package with your name on it. It was delivered to the security post at the entrance. I don't know what's

inside, so I didn't open it."

Camille was a little surprised because she hadn't ordered anything online recently, and even if she had,

it would usually be sent directly to the company.

The housekeeper handed her a package. It wasn't very large, and it didn't feel heavy when she held it.

Camille was a bit uncertain. "Didn't they say what's inside?"

"The security staff didn't say. However, they scanned it, and it's safe," the housekeeper replied.

Camille nodded and proceeded to open the package.

Inside, there was only a mobile phone.

Camille picked up the phone, a bit puzzled. The phone didn't have a lock screen password set. She

casually opened the contacts and saw a number with a special note.

The name was: "Call me after seeing this."

Camille furrowed her brows, even more puzzled now.

Her expression became slightly serious, and there was a hint of indifference in her eyes. Perhaps it

was curiosity that got the better of her. She directly dialed the number, and soon, there was a ringing

sound followed by a man's voice on the other end.

"Cami, it's me."

It was Preston's voice, and he sounded like he had anticipated that Camille would call.

Because it was what any normal person would do. No one would receive a phone and not check its

contents. If they saw a note like this inside, curiosity would drive them to make the call.

He had predicted this, which was why he had chosen to do it this way.

Upon hearing his voice, Camille was slightly taken aback, but other than that, she didn't react or

respond in any other way.

Camille didn't immediately reply, and there wasn't even a sound. She was a bit speechless at Preston's

behavior. What was the point of doing this?
