Albert and Hylda both had strange looks on their faces as they realized that Stella witnessed the dramatic scene that hadhappened.
"Stella, why are you at the hospital?"
Albert was the one who recollected himself first as he hurriedly asked novelxo. Then, he looked at Keegan and asked, "Did youcome here with Mr. Kane?“
Stella shook her head. "Nope. I'm here to see a doctor and met him downstairs, so we came up together."
She looked at Albert before shifting her gaze to Hylda, and finally to the woman that Albert was hugging. "And, this is?""She's-"
"She's the company secretary." novéxo Hylda interrupted Albert before he could finish speaking.
Hylda was a homewrecker who ruined Rainee's family, and she was so proud of it back then. However, after less than a year ofgetting married to Albert, he got sick of her and found someone a lot younger to replace her. How ironic was that?
Hylda could turn a blind eye to Albert having an affair outside their marriage, but she would not allow herself to be alaughingstock to Stella.
So, the first thing she could think of was to hide Xenia’s real identity.
Stella did not speak as she sized up Xenia. Then, she said after a few moments, "This secretary of yours looks somewhatfamiliar."
Xenia's face was right in front of Stella, so it was just impossible for her to not see the resemblance judging from how close Stellawas with Rainee. Hylda was fuming at the fact that not only did Albert cheat on her nvélx.o, but he even did it with someone wholooked so much like Rainee to challenge her limit.
Stella was a sharp person, and she could sort of already guess what was happening after bumping into them in the hospital.
"| thought the same as you too when | first saw this young lady. Look at her eyes. They look so much like Rainee's." Hyldasighed before she added," Unfortunately, Rainee lived a short life and left us too soon. Otherwise, they'd look so much likemother and daughter when they stand next to each other. We wouldn't have hired her if it wasn't for how she looks. This younglady is a very hardworking and novelxo meticulous girl who knows how to read others’ moods very well while serving tea andcoffee to us in the office."
Stella's blood boiled with anger when she heard the shameless and malicious words coming out of Hylda's mouth novel.xo.She sneered and said, "Do you feel okay with someone with so much resemblance to my mother serving you tea and coffee?"
Hylda smirked. "Why not? | actually feel pretty comforted too. If it wasn't for Rainee's help, | would've never gotten theopportunity to make it out of my old neighborhood. I'm very grateful to her."
Stella clenched her fists tightly.
Keegan coughed softly and the sound he made brought Stella back to her senses, as she took a deep breath to calm herselfdown.
Obviously, Hylda was just trying to provoke her, and everything that she had done would go in vain if she were to fall into Hylda’strap.novelbin
Her face turned pale, and she put on a dejected look on her face as she questioned Albert, "Is this what you meant by sincerity?My mother has passed away, yet you're making her go through a humiliation like this?"
Albert, who had been at a loss for words, finally recollected himself as he quickly said, "Don't listen to her nonsense. Today's herfirst day seeing Xenia."
Hylda's face brimmed with anger. ‘What a despicable asshole! How could he embarrass me like this?!"After clarifying, Albert shifted his gaze back to Stella and Keegan. "Keegan, longtime no see."
His voice sounded a little unnatural. Even though he extorted fifty million from Keegan online remorselessly, he could not helpbut feel a little guilty when he saw Keegan in person.
Keegan's eyes always looked sharp and calm as if novel.xo he could see through everything. Albert was about thirty years olderthan him, yet he would somehow feel uneasy around him.
Keegan swept his gaze across him. "Mr. Jewell, it's better for you to not address me by my first name to avoid anymisunderstandings from others."
