Chapter 490 Logan Gets Sick

“Um… I don’t want to buy the ones built by the university. This house is big enough for me to live alone.

It’s convenient to live on campus.” Clarissa lowered her head. She didn’t tell Damien about her plans to

buy a house in Ashland.

That she still missed her daughter meant she still missed what she used to have with Damien.

“You’re really not going to buy a house?”

“Really.”

“Then where will I live when I’m here?”

Clarissa angled her head to glare at him. “You’re thinking too far.”

She never had any plans to let him live here.

“Anyway, have you found anything about the things I asked you to look into?” Clarissa asked.

Even if Damien was well-connected, she supposed he wouldn’t be able to get any results so quickly.

She purposely asked him this to keep him from talking about sleeping and living together.

“How can I get results so quickly?” Damien shot back.

It wasn’t because he couldn’t get any information that he didn’t investigate. Rather, he didn’t want to

know about her private life. Back then, he felt so weary when he found that her father had given him his

cornea, and that she wasn’t the man’s biological daughter.

Actually, he didn’t need to know who she was. All Clarissa needed to be was herself.

“Then you have to keep your word,” Clarissa said.

Damien gave a light chuckle. Dishonestly, he said, “Of course.”

“Where are you staying tonight?” Clarissa asked, feeling a bit worried.

“Grandpa’s.”

Only then did Clarissa let out a long breath. She was a little scared of him and his wild nature in bed.

Damien was nearly done arranging the boxes in the house. He brushed off her hands and went to the

bathroom to wash them. At that moment, his phone rang.

He glanced at it, only to see that Chanel was calling.

He frowned immediately.

“Hello,” he said.

“Damien, Logan’s sick. He has a fever of more than 100 degrees! I’ve only just fostered him, and I don’t

know what to do! What should I do?” In her unthinking panic, she went to the wrong person asking for

medical help.

“Sick? Can’t you just bring him to the hospital?”

Hearing that someone had gotten sick, Clarissa became concerned. Her brows came together in worry

for the patient.

“But I don’t have a car, and I don’t know how to drive! I…I can try. ” In her worry and anxiety, Chanel

was nearly crying.

Damien’s brows furrowed. “Wait a bit. I’ll come over.”

He was a bit annoyed. He didn’t want to get involved, but he had no choice but to do so.

“Are you… Are you in Florin? I only wanted to call and destress a bit.”

“Just wait a moment and I’ll drive over.” After he finished speaking, Damien hung up.

“Who’s sick?” Clarissa asked.

“Logan Fur.”

Clarissa had never met the child Chanel was caring for. Even when she saw them on campus, Lucy

never allowed her to meet him. She only guessed that it was Lucy’s child, since she knew that his last

name was Fur. It made sense that Chanel would go to Damien for such an issue.

“Are you coming?” Damien’s gaze stopped on Clarissa’s worried expression.

“I’m not coming. I still have to drop off some forms at the administrative office this afternoon. Besides, Inovelbin

won’t be any help. I might even get in the way. Just let me know when the child is all better.” Clarissa

turned Damien down.

Damien grabbed his coat and left.

Clarissa’s home suddenly went back to its usual silence.

Thinking about it, Clarissa knew the child would be fine since Damien was going over.

Although she hated seeing Lucy, the child was innocent. In fact, he was very pitiful.

When Damien got to Chanel’s house, it was to find Chanel in the throes of anxiety.

“Why is he burning up?” Damien asked after feeling Logan’s forehead.

“He must have caught a cold! He was kicking his sheets off all night,” Chanel said.

“Bring the necessary documents and follow me to the hospital.”

“I’ve got them already.” Chanel patted her bag. She was used to doing such things.
