Chapter 489 Why Don’t You Buy a House?

Although Clarissa ignored the message, Chanel was deeply affected by it. She wondered when

Damien would come.

Once class was over, Clarissa immediately left the lecture hall.

Beyond those two horribly timed Whatsapp messages, Clarissa’s class was extremely successful.

Grading her course as excellent was nothing.

Meanwhile, Chanel brought the recommendation form home.

Her mind was fixated on Damien’s Whatsapp message, and she was busy thinking that he would be in

Florin tomorrow.

Chanel wanted to see Damien again more than ever.

It was a shame Damien might not be able to see Logan even if he came here. After all, the child wasn’t

his and had nothing to do with him at all.

Childishly, Chanel kept flipping a coin.

If it was heads, it meant he would come. If it was tails, it meant he wouldn’t.

When the coin landed on heads, she would be excited for a while. When it landed on tails, she wasnovelbin

devastated.

In the end, this only served to intensify her anxiety.

Logan was the only reason Damien would come to Chanel’s house.

At that moment, Chanel stared at the child sitting on the floor while playing with wooden blocks. An

idea began to form in her head.

The afternoon of the next day, Damien went to Clarissa’s home in Marble Garden after his meeting at

Eden Investment.

She was at home writing a paper and researching information, with her glasses on.

When she opened the door and found Damien standing at her doorstep, her first question was,

“Where’s Neil?”

“Is Neil the only person you care to ask about?” Damien was annoyed by the way Clarissa popped his

bubble the moment she opened the door.

Clarissa’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Aren’t you standing right in front of me?”

“He’s at the office. Ray’s taking care of him for a few days.”

“A few days?” Clarissa was still confused.

“Just a few days. I’ll see how it goes. What’s up? Worried about your son?” Obviously, Damien felt

displeased at how Clarissa kept asking about Neil.

Clarissa was a little relieved at that and became a bit less wary. ‘There’s so many people at the office.

Even if Iris wanted to make a move, it wouldn’t be that easy. Hopefully, Ray will put in a bit more effort

in this.’

Clarissa opened the door to admit Damien.

“Does it still hurt?” Damien asked Clarissa after entering the house.

“Do you think I didn’t see your Whatsapp message because I didn’t reply?” Recalling the

embarrassment she had suffered during class, her temper flared.

“Then how are you? Too shy to say if it hurts?” Damien lowered his head and grabbed a cigarette.

Clarissa snatched the cigarette away. “No smoking in my house,” she snapped.

Damien looked up at Clarissa. “Quite strict, are you?”

Clarissa was unmoved. She had already put aside the cigarette while Damien smiled.

“What are you here for this time?”

“Did Charles not tell you about the meetings at Eden Investment, or do I have to report this to you?”

Damien asked.

“I don’t understand things concerning the top executives.” After putting away the cigarette, she went

back to her desk. She wanted to get her thoughts back in order after Damien’s interruption.

She was always wary of people interrupting her when she wrote her paper.

Damien looked around Clarissa’s box-filled home. He never thought that her place was so small last

time, but now, he found it to be really cramped. His brows furrowed as if to say, “Who lives in such a

small house?”

“You haven’t put the snacks in the fridge?” he asked Clarissa.

Sitting at her desk, Clarissa pushed up her glasses. She kept thinking about her problems and

answered absently, “The fridge is small, so they won’t fit.”

“You’re not planning to get another fridge?”

Clarissa pushed up her glasses again. “The place is small, so it won’t fit.”

“Not planning to change your home?”

It took a while for Clarissa to register the topic of changing homes. “What are you trying to say?” she

demanded.

“Why don’t you buy a house?” Damien asked as he organized the messy boxes filled with snacks.
