Clarissa. The moment he did that, the students all understood his actions.

The whole gym was in an uproar. Everyone was cheering and whistling at Clarissa. Neil was shocked.

He asked Damien, “Daddy, what‘s going on?”

Damien looked straight ahead, but said nothing. Lisa shouted excitedly at Clarissa, “Why don’t you just

say yes?” “Say yes to what?” Clarissa was distracted, so she was slow to react. She was still thinking

about Connie‘s sudden appearance in her life.

“Go out with him!” Lisa shrieked, covering her mouth in excitement. She was so excited that she was in

tears.

No one needed to tell Damien what was going on. He understood at once. It turned out that Caleb was

interested in Clarissa! A small world, indeed! A frosty, imperceptible smile emerged on his lips. His

smile was colder than winter. He came to the conclusion that Clarissa might be a lecturer at the

University of Florin. Everyone in the university knew that Caleb liked Clarissa. He was her ex–husband,

“Nothing.” Damien‘s answer sent chills down Neil‘s spine, so the little boy stopped asking immediately.

Caleb got up from the floor and walked over to Clarissa. Then, he greeted Damien in the back. Clarissa

followed Caleb’s gaze, and she saw Damien and Neil sitting in the back. Her mind went blank at that

instant.

Her son was watching! “Mr. Lawrence! Let‘s have a meal together after this, shall we?” Caleb said to

Damien in the back row, smiling Clarissa gaped, shocked. Her mind was empty. She watched Neil

walking toward her. ‘Damien won‘t agree to go to dinner with Caleb. He won‘t.‘

However, things turned out differently. Damien glanced at Clarissa for a second and said, ” Sure.”

Clarissa’s heart went cold.

“I have something to tell you,” Clarissa told Caleb.

“What? I can’t hear you. Say it over dinner,” Caleb teased with a smile.

“I‘m not going,” Clarissa said. “Just come with us. Come on!” Caleb insisted, taking Clarissa’s hand. At

this moment, he was a spirited young man oozing hormones and charm.

Clarissa tried to break away, but the students who had dispersed from the crowd saw their hands.

Almost all of them thought the two had got together. Clarissa closed her eyes. ‘How could such a big

misunderstanding happen?!‘ “Come on! Let‘s go.” Caleb took Clarissa‘s hand and pulled her away.

Clarissa didn’t want to follow, but she could not break free. Lisa was urging Clarissa as well. “Miss

Johnson, good luck!” Clarissa was beside herself with shock and anger. That‘s the worst! Don’t you

know that’s the most inappropriate thing to shout right now?‘ Caleb took Clarisa’s hand, and pulled her

to Damien. Clarissa was confused, and wondered how Caleb and Damien were acquainted. What was

their connection? “So, she‘s the one you‘re after?” Damien said with a small smile. He looked at

Clarissa with a judgemental gaze, acting as if they did not know each other. “Yup.” Caleb seemed a

little shy.

“Not bad.” Damien continued teasing Clarissa, and his eyes did not move away from her face.

However, his gaze was doused with the coldest water from the winter frost. His gaze could freeze

someone to death. “You two look good.”

Damien’s words struck Clarissa hard. He seemed to be implying that Clarissa caught a young man‘s

interest despite being older. He seemed to be calling her a hypocrite, too. Unfortunately, Caleb didn‘t

get the message. After all, he did not know anything about Clarissa‘s past with Damien. “Come on!novelbin
