Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 153

Chapter 153 Clarissa Had Grown Prettier!

Later that night

Joseph and Nicole’s photographs were leaked to the media outlets, though their faces were blurred,

Since the media outlets couldn’t make it too obvious, their full names were omitted as well.

Almost everyone on social media was talking about that incident.novelbin

A lot of them were demanding for the full video with a clear view of their faces.

At first, Clarissa had planned to call Joseph to offer words of comfort to him.

However, she knew Joseph wouldn’t be in a good mood now after all this had happened. It would be

better if she feigned ignorance about the whole situation.

Clarissa couldn’t understand why Damien could be so heartless. How could he tarnish someone’s

reputation simply because he felt like it? Aside from this, Damien was talking about something else the

other day when she confronted him about Joseph. What was that?

Thinking about it alone made Clarissa’s skin crawl.

The next few days, she didn’t have any contact with Damien at all.

Soon, the holidays arrived and all the employees were in the mood for celebrating Easter with their

family and friends.

In the morning, Landon’s car stopped at Clarissa’s house, with Lily in the passenger seat.

The two of them then helped Theresa into the car.

Landon was never close with Lily, so he wouldn’t have helped her if she asked. The moment he heard

Clarrisa’s request, he obliged immediately.

Lily found his reaction disheartening.

When they almost reached Pentatone County, Theresa patted Clarissa’s hand and said, “Clary, don’t

brag about your work when we’re there, okay? Connie always has a bad temper, and you know it.”

“I got it.”

“Don’t tell them you‘re working at New East Corporation. Just say that you work at a normal company.”

Theresa patted Clarissa’s hand again as she wondered what else to warn Clarissa about.

“Okay, Mom.”

Thinking about Connie alone sent a shiver down Clarissa’s spine.

When she was still in high school, Clarissa and her mother went to visit her grandmother during the

winter holidays.

Connie, dressed in an impeccable flower dress, approached Clarissa and asked about her grades.

All the exam papers in the government schools were standardized in Genovia, and Connie happened

to be the best in language subjects.

“I didn’t score well in a part of the essay. The teacher deducted 5 marks and I got 92 in total,” Clarissa

said.

All of a sudden, Connie’s expression turned livid. She snatched Clarissa’s test papers and started

bawling her eyes out

It turned out that Connie only got 90 in her test.

Looking at Connie’s reaction, Uncle Peter and Aunt Cindy were displeased. They thought Clarissa had

offended Connie somehow.

That year, Theresa had to buy Connie a Christmas gift with one hundred dollars, hoping that Connie

would just let it slide.

Back then, Clarissa thought of Connie as a selfish person with a bad temper.

Now that she thought about it, Connie’s personality was almost the same as Damien

Recalling Damien, his evil deeds rose to her mind.

“Clary, since we’ll be leaving tomorrow, why don’t we share the same bed with Grandma? As for

Landon and Lily…” Theresa looked at the two at the front seat.

Lily didn’t want to stay at Clarissa’s grandmother’s place at all.

“Mrs. Johnson, how about we sleep at a hotel tonight? I can share a room with Clarissa, and Landon

can have a room for himself.” Lily, who was in the passenger seat, glanced at Landon.

Though Theresa didn’t like the idea of them living outside, she still wasn’t sure if it was appropriate of

her to invite guests to Peter’s house without his permission. After all, it had been a while since she

visited Peter and his family. They might not have enough room to house all of them. In fact, she didn’t

know if they would welcome them at all. For now, Theresa’s last resort would be sleeping outside.

“I’ll pay for the expenses, okay?”

“You don’t have to, Mrs. Johnson. Let’s just think of this trip as a vacation,” Lily said happily.

“Lily’s right. We don’t have anything to do, anyway. We’ll just follow Clarissa’s decision,” Landon added.

“I’ll have Clarissa treat you two to a meal after we go back home.” Theresa felt bad for dragging the two

youngsters into this.

“She’s definitely treating us to a meal!” Lily looked at Clarissa with glee.

After around two hours an a half, they finally arrived at an old residential area in Pentatone County

Landon and Lily had left to search for a hotel, leaving Theresa and Clarissa in front of the house.

“Clary, I think it’s best you spend the night at the hotel today.” Theresa looked at Peter’s house. It

seemed they didn’t expand their house at all, and it was still a small house with a small living room.

One look and you’d know it wouldn’t be able to house two extra people.

They knocked on Peter’s door.

The person who answered the door was Connie.

“Aunty, Clarissa, you’re here! Aunty, how are you?” Connie greeted them after a momentary hesitation.

Clarissa, meanwhile, couldn’t gouge Connie’s reaction from the latter’s tone.

When Clarissa entered the door, Connie was secretly sizing her up.

After all these years, Clarissa had grown prettier!
