Chapter 513

Chapter 513 Finding the Truthnovelbin

After chatting with Belinda for a while in the ward, Alva left.

When she walked out of the ward, she happened to run into Derek and greeted him, "Mr. Derek Steele,

you're here."

Alva had met Derek before, so she was no stranger to him.

An affable man with a short beard, he had excellent composure and often wore a smile on his face. He

carried an innate charm and charisma that could make one fall for him in a moment of carelessness.

Dressed in a suit and leather shoes, Derek looked like a business tycoon, with a sophisticated touch of

elegance.

"Why are you crying?"

He tilted his head and glanced at Alva's red and swollen eye sockets. Noticing the tears on her cheeks,

he took out a pocket square from the pocket of his suit and handed it to her directly. "What a beauty

you are, Alva. Colbert just doesn't quite know how to treat women right," he remarked.

In a slight surprise, Alva looked at the pocket square that the gentlemanly Derek had offered her to

wipe away her tears.

She had met him on several occasions, but they couldn't be considered to be very familiar with each

other.

His actions today seemed a little strange to Alva.

"Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Derek Steele."

Alva took the pocket square in his hand, wiped away her tears, and choked up while sobbing. "That

was embarrassing. My apologies, Mr. Derek Steele."

"Don't be sorry. We're family."

Derek reached out and patted Alva's shoulder while saying, "There is nothing pretty about a girl crying.

Colbert is a responsible person. He won't let you down."

"Yeah, I trust Colbert too," Alva said, tears welling up in her beautiful eyes, making her look incredibly

pitiful. She added, "It's time for me to get going."

"Go ahead."

"Goodbye, Mr. Derek Steele."

Alva left.

Derek turned around and stared at Alva, who was walking away, his eyes slightly squinted, and the

corners of his lips curled into a mirthless smile.

He returned to the ward and asked Belinda, "Mother, are you feeling better?"

"I'm just getting old. Nothing too serious."

Belinda sat leaning against the headboard of the bed and lamented with a sigh of sorrow, "Derek,

Colbert is too tight-lipped. I have a strong feeling that what happened at the wedding yesterday is not

serious enough for the engagement to be called off. Get to the bottom of the situation and tell me

what's happening."

"That's very wise of you, Mother. Should we nab Eudora and question her?" Derek asked tentatively.

A moment of silence ensued, and Belinda frowned. After giving it some thought, she said, "Be careful

with it, and try not to let Colbert find out."

Although she trusted Eudora, Belinda thought she might be blindsided at times since she was getting

old after all.

It was better to be safe than sorry.

Before the truth came to light, every person was a potential suspect.

Besides, everything about the wedding was directly related to Eudora, so it was necessary to

investigate!

"Okay, I'll get to it right away," Derek agreed. After exchanging a few words with Belinda in the ward, he

left.
