Chapter 1751

Chapter 1751

Estelle tiptoed, planting a kiss on his lips.

Jonathan was momentarily stunned, his eyes deepening as he lifted her, his lips never leaving hers as

he walked toward the bathroom.

In the warm bathtub, Estelle reclined against Jonathan's chest, recounting the situation back at Emily's

family.

Jonathan, half-leaning against the bathtub, gently stroked her silky hair with his long legs slightly bent.

He murmured, "OrbitaTech Ventures is indeed Charlie's firm. I'm aware that Emily's dad works there.

Don't worry.

Charlie will handle it."

Estelle nodded, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips, “Emily has also cut ties with her family. We have

that in common, Jonathan's touch became even more tender, "Cutting ties might not be a bad thing. If

there's already a rift, it's better to rip the band-aid off than to keep pretending."

“You're right. But after all this, Emily and Charlie will probably drift further apart."

Jonathan's eyes flickered as he lifted Estelle slightly, "I've been considering telling Charlie about Kya.

What do you think? It could bring them closer."

Estelle shook her head, “Emily doesn't want Charlie to know. We shouldn't make decisions for her."

“But you've seen what Charlie has done for Emily. He's serious this time. He deserves a chance.”

Jonathan's voice was soft and persuasive.

Eyes downcast, Estelle stayed silent.

Jonathan continued, “After this is resolved, we'll see how Charlie does. If he does well, we can hint at it

and see if he figures it out. How's that?"

Estelle thought for a moment before nodding, "Okay, we'll talk about it after Emily's father's situation is

settled"

Jonathan's lips curved into a smile as he sat up, gently kissing her damp cheek. The cool, soft touch

made him breathe deeply, his gaze intense as he held her slender waist closer, kissing her

passionately.

Estelle clung to his shoulders, responding fervently.

The next day, Emily visited the hospital after work. Shawn had already woken up.

He kept his head low, not daring to meet Emily's gaze. Emily didn't talk to him, only asking the hospital

about his condition.

As she was about to leave, she ran into Bard, who was also visiting.

"Ms. Sullivan!" Bard greeted her with a smile, "Here to see Shawn?"

"Yes, Emily nodded slightly.

Bard uttered, “Do you have a moment, Ms. Sullivan? We need to talk."

"Certainly." Emily knew he wanted to discuss the compensation, so she closed the door to the room

and poured Bard a glass of water.

"Please, have a seat, Ms. Sullivan,’ Bard said, his tone gentle.

Emily sat on the nearby couch, her expression serious, "I understand that my father has caused your

company a great deal of loss. I have no objections to paying compensation, but 1 million dollars is a

large sum. I need some time."

"Ms. Sullivan, don't worry. Hear me out first” Bard said, setting his water aside.

“I came as soon as I finished handling the company's affairs. I wouldn't want you to bear any grudges.

Firstly, Shawn shouldn't be solely responsible for the company's loss. He wasn't the only one playing

cards. Secondly, I must make it clear to you that there were four of them playing cards. When theynovelbin

realized there was a fire, they all ran out instinctively. But then Shawn bravely ran back into the burning

building. By then, the fire was already out of control. Shawn went in alone, cut off the power, and used

a fire hose to create a firebreak until the firefighters arrived, significantly reducing the company's

losses. If the fire had spread further, the consequences would have been unthinkable"

"This is also why Shawn was so severely injured."
