Chapter 1040

Chapter 1040

About a week later, it suddenly poured down one afternoon, so the crew wrapped up early. When

Estelle got home, it was just about three in the afternoon.

She hung out downstairs with Kya for a while. When Emily got home, they prepared and had dinner

together. It wasn’t until it was completely dark that Estelle went upstairs.

Once upstairs, she received a sudden text from Craig, “Estelle, can you come to Blue Oasis?”

Estelle replied, “What’s up?”

It was a while before Craig texted back. There’s a new actor in the crew. Come meet him. The directors

will be there too.”

He quickly followed up with the room number.

Estelle glanced at the time and replied, “I’ll be there in half an hour.”

Craig. “Cool, I’ll be waiting for you.”

Estelle left with her bag and without changing her clothes, still in her daytime shirt and jeans.

At nine o’clock at night, Estelle arrived at the Blue Oasis. Following Craig’s room number, she went tonovelbin

the eighth floor.

As she opened the door, a strong smell of alcohol hit her. The room was dimly lit with flickering lights,

and it took a moment for Estelle’s eyes to adjust before she entered. The room was not crowded, just

five people, some singing, some joking with the waitress, all familiar faces to Estelle.

She scanned the room and didn’t spot Craig, but she did see Mr. Kress.

He was holding a hostess, talking to her face–to–face. The woman gestured towards Estelle, and Mr.

Kress saw her, his expression changed instantly, and he instinctively pushed the woman away from

him.

Gwen was speaking with Clarice, separated by two waitresses, and Mr. Kress, Gwen was the first to

stand up and greet her, “Estelle!“.

Estelle’s expression was calm, “Where’s Craig?”

“Craig’s drunk, in that room!” Gwen pointed it out.

Only then did Estelle notice another door in the room, tightly shut, with no idea what was inside.

Estelle went over, opened the door, and found a very narrow room, windowless, with only a dim wall

lamp.1

The room was like a punishment cell in a game.

There was a narrow bed against the wall, which took up two–thirds of the room. Craig was lying on it.

Estelle walked in and called out, “Craig!”

Craig curled up against the wall, grunting a little, with a heavy nasal sound, obviously drunk..

“Craig, have you been drinking?” Estelle approached and patted Craig on the shoulder.

Craig opened his eyes, looking dazed, and after a while recognized Estelle. He shivered and mumbled,

“Go, leave now!”

His speech was slurred, like that of a drunk person’s.

Estelle couldn’t hear clearly and tried to help him up, “Get up, I’ll take you home.“.

Craig struggled weakly, but he was so weak that he couldn’t dodge even if he wanted to. Estelle pulled

him up easily..

Just as Craig was being pulled up by Estelle, the lights in the room suddenly went out and a faint noise

came from the wall, followed by a lot of smoke gushing out from the- exposed pipes in the wall.

Estelle reacted quickly, realizing something was wrong the moment the lights went out, She covered

her nose and held her breath, dragging Craig towards the door.

However, the smoke spread rapidly, filling the small, dark room almost instantly..

Estelle pushed the door only to find it locked from the outside.
