Chapter 1039

Chapter 1039

Rena’s chat with GK didn’t pan out as expected, she hung up the phone in a huff.

Gwen was on pins and needles, too scared to surf the internet, only waiting for Rena’s updates.

Rena had a powwow with the PR team, and their decision was for Gwen to remain silent about the

news reports. Even though GK’s statement wasn’t in Gwen’s favor, it confirmed the dress was

designed by KING indeed.

Gwen didn’t lie, at most one could say she capitalized on KING’s fame.

The internet was a hot mess, with people spreading rumors and shaping public opinion. The PR team

would likely engage in timely reputation management. Additionally, with the defense from Gwen’s loyal

fans, the intensity should subside quickly.

However, Gwen’s image had taken a hit, no matter what.

The press camping outside, Gwen didn’t dare to step out. She blew her top blaming Rena’s decision to

tie KING’s name with the marketing campaign. If she hadn’t asked for that dress, none of this would

have happened.

Rena was put out, “I did it for you, didn’t I? How was I supposed to know that Snowy Studios would

come down on us like a ton of bricks, as if we had a bone to pick with

them!”

Upon hearing Rena’s words, Gwen suddenly thought of Estelle.novelbin

She had no dealings with Snowy Studios, so there was no way she could have a grudge with them.

The only possible person who could have it in for her was Estelle, who was part of Snowy Studios;

Could it be that Estelle was stirring the pot behind her back, making Snowy Studios target her?

Once that thought popped up, it was impossible to shove it back down.

Gwen’s eyes were flashing with a dark light, like a poisoned needle. She had mistakenly believed that

Estelle was a forgiving person who wouldn’t plot against her. Turned out everyone was the same, all

smiles upfront but hoping to stick the knife in when you were not looking!

Once this blew over, she would make sure Estelle pay for this!

It took four or five days for the news about Gwen to lose steam, then a story about a celebrity’s love

child broke out, and everyone’s attention was redirected.

Gwen had taken a five–day break, she got back to the grind once the peeping toms had left.

Returning to the set, everyone’s looks towards Gwen were a tad off, Gwen kept her poker face but was

boiling inside.

The deeper her hatred grew in her heart, the better her attitude towards Estelle became. Not only did

she portray herself as extremely amiable in public, but she also acted as if nothing had happened

behind the scenes. She even took the initiative to have her assistant hold an umbrella for Estelle, pour

her water, and buy her afternoon tea.

Even Craig was left scratching his head at Gwen’s actions, he couldn’t help but ask Estelle, “What’s up

with Gwen?”

He had seen the news as well, could it be that Gwen had had an epiphany after the blow and was

trying to be a goody two–shoes?

Estelle replied with a shrug, “Who knows, all I know is one thing.”

“What’s that?” Craig asked.

Estelle arched an eyebrow, “When something’s fishy, there’s always a scheme!”

Craig nodded in agreement, “We just need to ignore her!”

“Right!” Estelle nodded.

At most, Gwen could use Jonathan to ruffle Estelle’s feathers, as long as she didn’t let it get to her,

Gwen couldn’t hurt her.
