Chapter 1185

"Honey, our daughter will be over the moon. I remember you told me about that news you found online.

I felt like my world was collapsing that day. I kept trying to call you, but you never answered. You

must've been busy. When I saw the bruises on our kid's body, fear seized me. The investigation is still

ongoing, and I must fight for justice for our little girl. If it turns out that Shawn has been wrongfully

accused, I will clear his name online."

Eyes red, she wiped the tears away, "I've spent every waking moment taking care of our daughter,

honey. If something were to happen to her, I don't think I could bear it."

Guilt can be an odd thing in a man. If not addressed immediately, it tended to evaporate as soon as he

returned to business as usual. And in this case, business was Daisy.

"I'm going home, honey. Our daughter is waiting for the video. You should go back. Your artist needs

you."

Peter looked at her, the redness around her eyes reminding him of the lunch she used to make. In that

moment, he took a step closer.

"I'll go with you. We'll have dinner together tonight."

This offer was like a gift from God to Antonia. She couldn't wait to accept.

But then Maja's voice buzzed in her ear, "Reject him. He's trying to assuage his guilt with a single meal.

As soon as he leaves your house, he'll forget all about your troubles. Refuse him now. Let him stew in

his guilt for a few hours, thinking about what you've gone through and what's happening to your

daughter. Daisy won't be easy to deal with. She'll definitely pick a fight with Peter."

Maja reminded her without hesitation.

“Daisy isn’t far from you. Now give Peter a kiss and then reject him. Later, the more seriously he and

Daisy fight, the more intensely he’ll think of you.”

Antonia felt a pang of discomfort. Peter was finally willing to come home with her, to share a meal she'd

prepared. And now she was being advised to refuse him. She couldn't do it.

"Antonia, if you don't listen to me, then your efforts today will be wasted."

Taking a deep breath, Antonia moved closer and wrapped her arms around Peter.

Just as he was about to push her away, she spoke softly, "You don't need to come home with me. I

know you're busy. I'll take care of our daughter. I won't trouble you."

Then, she gently kissed him on the lips, "Honey, I'm going home."

Peter was taken aback by this uncharacteristically understanding Antonia. Her cheek still bore the mark

of Daisy’s earlier slaps, and he remembered how she had knelt before, pleading with her eyes for help.

For once, he was at a loss for words.

If it happened before, he’d definitely berate this woman for kissing him without permission.

Ten minutes later, Peter headed back to his studio, only to have Daisy pick a fight with him.

"Are you having second thoughts about the divorce, Peter? What do you take me for? I gave you a

son. I'm carrying another child! And yet you're out there cozying up with that hag. If you're having

doubts about the divorce, just say it. It’s not like I can’t live without you! You were the one who chased

after me, remember? If it weren't for all the good you've done, do you think I'd be carrying your child?"

Peter found himself torn between a loving, understanding wife at home and a fiery mistress that kept

belittling him. It was beginning to sway him towards Antonia.

Seeing Peter silent, Daisy slapped him, "I saw you two kissing just now. It disgusts me. For the next

month, you're not touching me!"

Their son aside began to cry, frightened by the shouting.

The sound of their son crying and Daisy's harsh words made Peter feel irritated.

He took a deep breath, trying to apologize. He didn't want to fight with Daisy, especially since she was

just pregnant.

"Daisy."

Daisy sneered, aware that this man would back down.

"Peter, I demand that you comfort our son right now. Call that wench Antonia and cut her off

completely. Don't bother with her autistic kid. I'm carrying a girl. You'll have a son and a daughter.

There's no need to care that autistic one. If you continue to get in touch with Antonia and her daughter,

don't blame me for getting an abortion!"

Peter found Daisy's threat of abortion to be extremely irrational.novelbin
