Chapter 213

Kirk pecked her lips. He lightly traced her lips with his tongue, tasting her sweet scent.

Caroline felt even more nervous after seeing his leisurely expression.

Kirk looked at her with a smirk. He crooned, “Be a good girl…” His voice was breathtaking and magneti

c, seemingly pulling her into the depths of his heart.

Caroline hugged his arms. She glanced at the moon with blurry eyes. She could see the moon from be

hind the treetops. It overlooked Caroline and the entire world.

At Pavilion, Daphne kept looking at the time on her watch. Kirk was over an hour late to their meetup.

She slowly frowned. She took out her phone, hesitating to call her manager.

She didn’t have Kirk’s

number. According to the contract, only Kirk could make arrangements to meet her. She didn’t have the

right to

contact him.

It was at this moment that her phone rang. The call was from an unknown number.

Daphne was overjoyed, and she quickly answered the phone. “Mr. Kirk, is that you?”

On the other end of the line, Howard didn’t hear her words clearly. He asked with a smile. “Excuse me.

Is this Ms. Daphne Dawson?”

Daphne immediately realized that he wasn’t Kirk. She asked cautiously. “And you are?”

“Oh, my name is Howard Collins.”

Daphne’s eyes widened immediately. She asked in surprise, “Howard Collins, the head of the Collins fa

mily, one of the big four families?”

“That’s right. Hello, Ms. Dawson.”

Daphne tried her best to calm down, but her voice still trembled as she greeted him. “H–hello.”novelbin

*When are you free, Ms. Dawson? Let’s have a drink.”

Daphne fidgeted in surprise. This was something she never thought would happen. She sputtered, “Uh,

I… I’m free anytime.”

Howard said, “Then, let’s arrange a time. I’ll ask my secretary to pick you up.”

“Okay,” Daphne agreed.

After hanging up the phone, Howard frowned slightly.

Seeing this, the butler hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong. Mr. Collins? Did it not go well?”

Howard shook his head. As he paced back and forth, he asked, “Are you sure that Daphne is Kirk’s wif

e?”

“That’s right. Netizens are going wild about it.”

“But why do I keep getting the feeling that Kirk wouldn’t like someone like her?”

Daphne was just a D–list actress. She wasn’t what Kirk wanted at all, so why would he like her?

The butler said with a smile, “Mr. Collins, I’ve read Daphne’s information as well. She isn’t a very beauti

ful woman. Perhaps there’s something she excels at.”

Smiling, Howard ordered, “Go and pick a nice place for us. I want to have a nice, long chat with Ms. Da

wson.”

“Yes, sir.” The butler left the room after getting instructions.

The next day, Caroline woke up to find Kirk silently watching her with his arm propped up.

She stretched her limbs and asked, “Why are you up so early?”

Caroline didn’t dare to move another muscle after his words.

Kirk smirked and teased, “What’s wrong?”

Caroline glared at him. “You know the answer to that question.”

Then, she warned him, “I have to go to work today.”

“But”

“Don’t even think about it.” Caroline forcefully cut him off.

Kirk kissed Caroline’s neck again, then turned over and let her go. “Fine.” He pouted sadly.

Caroline was dumbfounded at the sight.

She got out of bed to wash up. When she retumed, Kirk was still looking at her with puppy eyes, as

if she were an owner who had abandoned her pet.

She squeezed her palms before saying cruelly. “I’m going to work.”

Seeing that she was determined to leave, Kirk sat up. The thin blanket slid off his chest, landing on his

muscular abs.

He asked, “When are you planning to release the information about your parents?”

Caroline replied, “I need to find a reliable public relations agency first.”

Kirk said without hesitation, “I’ll help you find one.”

“You know people from PR agencies?”

Kirk said, “Of course, the businesses under Morrison Corp must be connected with a PR agency.”

“All right.” Caroline smiled slightly and thanked him. “Thank you.”

“That’s it? Just a thank you?” Kirk tilted his head with a smirk. It was clear what he wanted her to do.

Caroline said irritably. “I’ll treat you to a big meal tonight.” With that, she went downstairs.

However, Kirk keenly noticed that her earlobes were red. Then, he got out of bed happily.

As Kirk was brushing his teeth, he got a call from Charles. “Sir, didn’t you go to Pavillion last night?”

Kirk paused, and he said half–heartedly. “No.”

Charles was speechless at his answer. Kirk had always kept his word. He would have definitely had a p

urpose in

asking Daphne out. If he hadn’t shown up, he’d probably gotten caught up in something more important

.

“Do you want her to go there again tonight?” Charles asked again.

“No.” Kirk wiped the water from his face. He had initially wanted to meet Daphne to cause some stir am

ong the public about their relationship.

However, since

Caroline had already decided to deal with Sarah, he didn’t need to do anything anymore. Besides, he r

eally didn’t want to spend time with any woman other than Caroline.

“Just make sure news about my marriage keeps trending. Also, lind a rellable PR agency to help my wif

e.”

Kirk moved to hang his towel. When he saw the pink towel on the hook, his gaze and tone softened. “R

emember, you can’t tell her lasked you to do this!”

It took Charles a full minute and a half to snap back to his senses.

Was he hearing things? Charles couldn’t believe his boss could speak so gently. Even he was jealous, t

hinking about how his boss talked to Caroline so gently every day!

As soon as Caroline entered the company building, she felt countless pairs of eyes staring at her.

But in real life, she received far more attention from her colleagues than before since someone in their

company was involved in this

scandal.

Caroline was used to these probing

gazes and walked to the elevator calmly. At the elevator entrance, many people avoided her like the pla

gue the moment they saw her.

The elevator happened to arrive at this time, so Caroline walked straight in.

Seeing that the people outside had no intention of getting in with her, she pressed the close button with

a slight smile. It was pretty nice to have the elevator to herself during rush hour.
