“These are two completely different things, Caroline.” Layla said with a smirk.

“It’s true that the Evans family is where they are today because of the Morrisons, but it has nothing to d

o with you not supporting your parents.”

“My parents know better than anyone why I chose not to support them.” Caroline retorted, glaring at La

yla.

“Layla, don’t think I don’t know you’re involved in this. You just got out of jail, yet you’re trying to get

yourself in there again.”

Layla’s expression shifted from Caroline’s words, but she still smiled gently.

*Caroline, everyone here has a sense of who’s right and wrong here. At any rate, Aunt Sarah and Uncl

e Dan won’t release a video to clear things up.”

Caroline looked back and forth between them, and she immediately understood.

She narrowed her eyes and said perceptively, “You asked them to post that video, didn’t you?”

Layla gritted her teeth and retorted, “Slandering someone is against the law.”

Caroline scoffed and looked at Sarah and Dan again.

“I’ve already said what I wanted to say. If you don’t release a video to clear things up

in three days, don’t blame me for being ruthless.” With that, she left the room.

Sarah and Dan looked at Layla. They were feeling

intimidated by Caroline. “What should we do now, Layla? Caroline seems to have proof to take us dow

n.”

Layla smiled confidently and assured, “You’re

both overthinking this. She can’t have any proof. Besides, you worked hard to raise her, and you worry

yourselves over her growth. Anyone would say that you’re not in the wrong! The one at fault is Caroline

, who abandoned you after getting married!”

Sarah thought her words made sense and echoed. “You’re right. Caroline didn’t support us, and she ev

en blocked us on everything. We only exposed her online because we had no other choice!”

Dan glanced hesitantly at his wife. After a while, he said, “Then, the video …‘

Layla cut him off. “Uncle Dan, since what we said is true, there’s no need to make another video.”

“I’m just worried about Caroline’s reputation. She may lose her connections to the Morrisons.”

Layla’s expression darkened for a moment. She

secretly cursed Dan for still considering marrying his daughter into the Morrison family.

But soon she smiled brightly. “Don’t worry, Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah. When

I marry into the Morrison family, I won’t forget the help you’ve given me today. I’ll treat you both like my

own parents.”

Her words moved Sarah and Dan.

“I knew we shouldn’t have…”

Dan nudged Sarah. Sarah realized something and quickly changed

her words. “Layla, we will definitely help you join the Morrison family and become the next Mrs. Morriso

n.”

“Thank you.” Layla smiled obediently.

After chatting a little more, she finally got up and left the villa.

As she got into her car, her lips slowly curled up into a sneer. What a bunch of old fools!novelbin

While Layla had been in prison, she’d learned that Eddy and Caroline had been in frequent contact.

Sensing something was wrong, she’d quickly contacted her parents and asked them to get her out as s

oon as possible. Since she behaved well in prison, she was released a week early.

After getting out of prison, Layla had continuously worked on brainwashing Sarah and Dan, saying that

she got out of jail because of Eddy.

would marry her soon.

Sarah and Dan had believed her words. Layla had even promised that as long as she became the next

Mrs. Morrison, she would treat both of them well.

Sarah and Dan had been very touched. Layla had taken the chance to complain that, although Eddy w

anted to marry her, he lacked the opportunity to do so.

If someone could reveal Caroline’s dirty laundry, Eddy could tell Jude she wasn’t suited to be part of th

e Morrison family.

Layla had also hinted that Sarah could accuse Caroline of breaking ties with them and not supporting t

hem.

As planned, Sarah had taken the bait and recorded a video to accuse Caroline.

Now, everyone knew that Caroline was a disloyal daughter. There was no way a person like that could j

oin the Morrison family. No one would agree to this marriage, even if Jude doted on her.

Layla smiled sinisterly. She was one step closer to becoming the next Mrs. Morrison.

After Caroline left the Evans family’s villa, she went straight home. She’d thought Kirk would still be at

work. To her surprise, he was home.

“Didn’t you say something went wrong with a project? Why are you home so soon?” Caroline asked, pu

tting down her bag.

Kirk stared at her. Seeing that her expression was normal, he waved and ordered, “Come here.”

Caroline walked over to him.

Kirk hugged her on his lap, resting his chin on

her shoulder. Inhaling the faint, sweet scent on her body, he relaxed his frown. He asked.” Why didn’t you tell me about such a big thing?” 1

Caroline blinked. “About what?”

“I can’t believe you’re still trying to hide it.”

Kirk turned her around, making her face him. “About Sarah accusing you.”

Caroline hugged Kirk’s neck with a smile. “You know about that?”

Kirk looked into her eyes. Observing that it wasn’t a forced smile, he pinched her nose. “You seem prett

y happy, though.”

Caroline nestled herself in Kirk’s arms. “Is it that obvious?”

Kirk relaxed and smiled. “Pretty much.”

Caroline’s smile widened slightly. She let out a breath, its heat making Kirk’s heart swell.

“Actually, ever since I got the information, I’ve been thinking about what to do with it. I didn’t know whet

her to expose Sarah or pretend this never happened, treating it as repaying

her for raising me. But I didn’t expect them to do something like this.”

Taking a deep breath, Caroline continued. “I’m going to release this Information to the public so everyo

ne can see what kind of parents they are.”

Kirk’s heart ached, and his hands on her waist trembled slightly.

“Are you cutting lies with your parents?”

Caroline looked up at Kirk, her gaze unwavering.

She said, “Yeah. Since they’ve chosen to slander me, they can’t blame me lor what I do next. Right no

w, they’re strangers to me. I don’t need to hold back against strangers.”

Kirk smiled, kissing Caroline’s face. “Oh, darling.”

Caroline asked, “Yeah?”

With a smirk, Kirk grabbed Caroline’s waist and pinned her down.

“I’m doing something serious, too,” Kirk whispered, biting her earlobe.
