Chapter 1982 Holding Hands

Chapter 1982 Holding Hands

In the evening.

Luther took Joyce, along with Anderson and Alisha, as well as Cecelia, and they all set off for thehospital together.

After checking on Wilson and Cullen in the hospital's infant incubator.

Cecelia drove alone with Anderson and Alisha to a nearby mountain observatory to watch themeteor shower, with cold weather and several bodyguards accompanying them. The observatorywas crowded and lively tonight, with Luther having reserved the best stargazing spot on the topfloor just for their group's use.

Luther took Joyce home first.

As soon as they arrived home, Luther couldn't wait to pick up Joyce and head to the top floor.

"I have legs, why do you always have to carry me?" Joyce took off the cloak from her body inexasperation, "And, you keep draping this cloak over me, I'm suffocating."

"You are now the focus of protection. Draping a cloak over you is not about protecting you from thecold, it's just that your resistance is low. It's better to be cautious." Luther explained, "Besides, I justwant to hold you. Is that okay?"

Joyce blushed slightly, "Okay, it's up to you."

With a low chuckle, Luther carried Joyce up to the top floor of the house.

On the other side of the top floor's hot spring, there was a large terrace enclosed in seamless high-definition glass panels, giving the appearance of being inside a giant crystal glass box from theoutside.

Luther gently clapped his hands, and the small night lights inside turned on. The dim light bathedthe room in a warm glow, creating a cozy atmosphere.

He put Joyce down.

As soon as Joyce touched the ground, she was almost stunned by the sight before her. She hadnever been to this terrace after coming home. The house was too large, with many rooms, and shecouldn't possibly visit every room every day.

The ground was covered with rose petals, and vases of fresh flowers were placed around theterrace. Despite the cold weather, it felt like spring had arrived in an instant.

In the middle of the terrace, there was a two-person reclining chair, and Luther went ahead to light awarm candle on the table in front of it. The candlelight flickered, just like her trembling heart at thatmoment.

She looked back at Luther, "All of this is for me?"

Luther smiled but didn't say anything. He embraced Joyce as they sat down on the reclining chair. He pulled her into his arms, and they lay down together.

"It's been a long time since we enjoyed some quiet time together. Let's spend tonight just the two ofus." Luther said.

Joyce's eyes shimmered, feeling even more moved.

Indeed, she had met him again with Anderson, but never had they had this moment of romanticseclusion. This man was so thoughtful, knowing exactly what she desired in her heart, even thoughshe had never said it out loud. But he somehow knew that she also appreciated romance.

"It's almost 9 o'clock, this angle is perfect for viewing." Luther leaned in and kissed her forehead.

Joyce extended her arms and embraced him, nodding gently.

Time passed by a minute at a time.

They gazed at the vast night sky, like an ocean.

Suddenly, a dazzling arc of light streaked across the silent starry night.

"A shooting star!" Joyce exclaimed in delight, watching the beautiful light and making a silent wish, hoping that their children would grow up safely, and that she and him would be able to hold handstogether and grow old with each other.

At that moment, Luther took her hand.

"Make a wish quickly." Joyce closed her eyes, silently making a wish, hoping that their childrenwould grow up safely, and that they would always be together holding hands. Luther glanced at herclosed eyes in earnest, feeling a slight stir in his heart. He realized that if his poison hadn't beencured, they might not have had this moment. He didn't want to leave her, and he worried about theirchildren. He was grateful to her for never giving up and tirelessly searching for a way to cure him.And with that thought, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her even tighter.

Joyce opened her eyes after making her wish.

The meteor shower was even more beautiful at that moment, with glittering shooting stars likedroplets of water splashing in a river, streaking across the deep blue night sky and silently falling

towards the north.

"It's truly beautiful," Joyce marveled.novelbin

"Yes, a rare occurrence once every hundred years. They say the next meteor shower will be in fiftyyears," Luther said.

Joyce looked up, "Fifty years from now? By then, we'll both be old with gray hair and missing teeth, haha. Who knows, we might even be toothless."

Luther laughed, "What does it matter? I hope that on that day, we can still be like this, watching themeteor shower together. Holding hands and growing old together. The happiest thing in life is togrow old slowly with you."

He spoke with deep affection, his eyes flickering with a shimmer that matched the starlit night.

Joyce was touched, and for a moment, she didn't know what to say.

Her lips trembled slightly as she spoke, "I'm sorry."

Luther raised an eyebrow, "Why apologize at a time like this?"

Taking a deep breath, Joyce continued, "You opposed the plan to save Grayson and have him workat my company. I insisted on it. If I had been taken away by him, you wouldn't have been able toaccompany me during childbirth or witness our children being born. It would have been a hugeregret for you."

Luther kissed her forehead, comforting her, "Don't bring up the past. It's not your fault. Those whohave ill intentions can always find a way in. I had suspicions, but I didn't intervene. Because themost dangerous place is also the safest. With Grayson in the open, it's better than having him lurkin the shadows. If not for me collapsing from the poison, he wouldn't have had a chance to

approach you. Regardless, the outcome is good enough. In the future, I will be more careful inprotecting you."

"Yeah," Joyce nestled in his embrace, "I won't easily trust others anymore. The technology for theEMP diagram is coveted by too many. I was careless. I will complete this technology as soon aspossible and hand it over to the military for safekeeping. I don't want you to worry anymore."

"You've done the right thing, I support you. You don't need to feel guilty." Luther reassured her.

"By the way, the meteor shower has ended. Andres and Alisha should be back by now, right?" sheasked, looking up.

"They should be home in half an hour," Luther hugged Joyce tighter, "but I don't want to get up, Iwant to hold you a little longer."

"Okay," Joyce smiled slightly, lying in his embrace, savoring this rare moment of peaceful solitude.
