Chapter 1972 Not Supposed to Know, but Knows Anyway

Cecelia chimed in, "I'll go prepare some food for you. The doctor said that when you wake up, youcan start with water and then some semi-liquid food. I've already prepared everything, it's been inthe adjacent resting room."

With those words, Cecelia turned and headed to the next room to prepare the meal. Luther pressedthe button to call the doctor and nurses. Joyce got off the bed, "I'm going to freshen up, this stickyfeeling on my face is unbearable."

Luther hurriedly held her back, "Don't move, I'll get you a towel, you just gave birth, can you get outof bed?"

Joyce pushed his hand away, "You're underestimating me. I didn't have a C-section, but even if Idid, I could still get out of bed now."

As she spoke, she landed her feet steadily on the ground, taking a few steps. She felt relaxed allover, giving birth naturally was indeed different, it was like unloading cargo, her body quicklyrecovered.

She had thought about having a C-section early, worried that Luther couldn't wait due to the poisonin his body. Unexpectedly, an accident led to the early birth of the children. At the same time, thepoison in Luther's body was also released, it was truly a happy accident after enduring hardships.

Luther accompanied Joyce to the VIP ward bathroom and handed her the prepared toiletries. AfterJoyce fixed herself up, she glanced at Luther, "You should shave, those whiskers were poking meearlier."

Luther absentmindedly touched his chin, indeed, he hadn't had time for himself the past few days."Okay," he replied.

At that moment, the doctor and nurse entered the room. Joyce returned to bed. Shortly after, Lutherfinished shaving and rejoined her. The doctor conducted a detailed examination on Joyce. Thenurse wheeled in a portable ultrasound machine and an X-ray machine, setting up a radiation shieldcurtain before performing the ultrasound on Joyce. Once done, the nurse wheeled the machinesaway. The doctor opened their electronic device and reviewed the examination results uploaded, meticulously going through each one.

Meanwhile, Cecelia brought in the semi-liquid breakfast and placed it by the bedside, asking,"Doctor, how was the examination?"

While recording, the doctor replied, "The Marshal's body has recovered well, the placenta hasdetached cleanly, and the uterus is contracting well. The imaging shows no abnormalities, you canrest assured."

Cecelia nodded, "That's good. Thank you, everyone."

The doctor respectfully responded, "It's our duty. Now, I'll have the nurse draw some blood for theMarshal, if the blood test results are fine, she can be discharged tomorrow."

Luther was surprised, "So soon? Why not stay in the hospital for a few more days?"

The doctor raised their head, smiling, "No need, normally after a natural birth, three days of hospitalstay is enough. The Marshal has a good foundation, she just needed some rest. Sleepingaccelerates recovery. Leaving the hospital earlier is better for recuperating. Just keep warm, avoidcold foods, and rest well."

Glancing at the prepared meal, the doctor added, "Follow a gradual diet adjustment, starting fromsemi-liquid to soft foods, in a few days, she can eat normally with no special precautions needed."

"I see," Cecelia recalled something, "The babies are still in the incubator, about breastfeeding..."

An experienced nurse interjected, "Regarding breastfeeding, we discussed this in our departmentthis morning. The babies need to stay in the incubator for two weeks, we'll feed them formula milk.We suggest that the Marshal doesn't have to breastfeed, with modern scientific formula feeding, it'ssufficient for the babies' needs."

Joyce furrowed her brows, looking at Cecelia and then Luther. She was conflicted, as a mother, shenaturally wanted to breastfeed. When Andres and Alisha were born, she was in a coma for a longtime and couldn't breastfeed. Now, the family was finally reunited. But...

She remembered before giving birth, she was almost taken away by Grayson, and Grayson'sidentity was still unclear. The counter electromagnetic pulse technology was still a huge risk. Shecouldn't ignore it. And she didn't know what the other side would do next? When would they start?

She hesitantly looked at Luther. Luther held her hand, "You decide, I support you."

From her eyes, he understood her worries. She was concerned that given the current situation, shemight not be able to devote time to the children if needed for urgent business trips or internationaltravels, breastfeeding would tie her down.

After a moment of dilemma, Joyce said, "Okay. We'll feed the babies formula milk."novelbin

Cecelia agreed, "Don't worry, everyone's here. We'll take care of the kids. Come on, finish eatingfirst after the examination."

The doctor and nurse then said, "We'll leave first." Cecelia nodded. The doctor and nurse left.

Joyce took the porridge from Cecelia, which was very soft and salty, easy on the palate. She wasindeed hungry and scooped spoonfuls to eat.

Cecelia handed Luther a bowl, "You stayed up for two nights with her, you deserve a meal. Youdidn't eat anything early in the morning, have some."

Taking the bowl, Luther smiled, "Nah, you've been taking care of me all along. Mom, why aren't youeating?"

Cecelia served some side dishes for Luther, "I've already eaten."

She then told Joyce, "You can't eat the side dishes for now, just stick to the porridge. For lunch anddinner, I'll make some vegetable porridge that suits your taste, with finely chopped beef."

Joyce waved her hand, "It's not necessary, the hospital has specially prepared nutritious meals, it'sfine. Mom, don't bother. By the way, I've finished. Let's go see the kids."

"Just wait a bit, the neonatal nurse has set visiting hours. Andres and Alisha are about to arrive,we'll go together." Cecelia checked her watch, "They should be here in the next 10 minutes."

Joyce nodded, "Alright, let's wait for them."

"Andres and Alisha came yesterday, but you were still asleep. They've already visited the babiesonce. Alisha was ecstatic, she kept leaning on the incubator's glass. Impossible to move." Ceceliachuckled, "Alisha is so loving, she'll be a great big sister in the future."

"Andres looks so much like a responsible big brother," Luther praised Anderson.

"I must have worried them when I was in a coma," Joyce sighed.

"No, I told them that mommy was too tired from giving birth and needed more sleep," Cecelia saidsoftly.

Joyce smiled and shook her head, "Only Alisha would believe that excuse, probably."

Cecelia, "..."

Luther, "..."

Indeed, it was challenging to hide things from Anderson.

Knowing what should be known, what shouldn't be known, and still knowing everything.
