Chapter 338

Chapter 338 The Cause Of His Blindness

Unconcerned by it, Gwendolyn soon lay in bed.

In a matter of a few minutes, she fell into a deep slumber.

It was late afternoon the next day in Chanaea.

After several days of targeted medication, Kieran drew back the bedroom’s curtains and tilted his head

to look at Cedrick, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

“How do you feel? Do you feel like you can see something?” he asked.

Amidst the darkness, Cedrick perceived his surroundings aimlessly with his ebony eyes, then shook his

head.

Treyton, who was standing at the side, refused to give up. “Try and focus. Are you really unable to see

any light?”

Cedrick shook his head again. Seemingly having given up, he lowered his gaze.

“Kieran, what should we do? Should we consider surgery?” Treyton asked.

“His condition appears to be different from ordinary blindness,” Kieran replied with a solemn

expression. on his face.

After a long moment of pondering, he continued, “We have to go to the laboratory again and have full

body tests done on him. Only after seeing how the virus has spread can I decide on further treatment

options.”

“We’re going to the laboratory?” Treyton, too, turned grim.

He walked to the floor–to–ceiling window and looked down at the gate outside the garden. “Asher left

Salinsburgh yesterday due to some business matters and will only return in two days. Won’t it be too

risky for us to go out like this when there are so many people after Cedrick?”

Kieran fell silent.,

A heavy silence filled the bedroom.

In the end, Cedrick made the decision. “Let’s go. Even if I continue to hide in the house, they’ll still find

an opportunity to discover the truth. It’s better to take the initiative and treat my eyes than be on the

defensive.”

For some strange reason, he kept feeling anxious these days, as if something big was about to happen

to Gwendolyn.

I haven’t seen Gwenny for almost a week! I miss her so much! I’m about to go crazy because of it!

He had to recover his vision as soon as possible and go to Erihal to find Gwendolyn.

Treyton could only acquiesce to it since Cedrick had made up his mind. “Let’s go out at night, then. It

will attract less attention. Doing it during the day is too conspicuous.”

What concerned him the most was that it would take around six minutes to walk from Harrick Villa to

the garage at the gate of the Jenson residence as they would have to walk through a series of winding

paths.

Besides, Yael had sent his subordinates to keep a close eye on the tracks.

As Cedrick could not see, walking such a long distance would make him stand out from ordinary

people.

Night came quickly since it was winter.

Around seven in the evening, the sky had turned completely black.

Snow fell from the air incessantly and soon blanketed the roofs of the Jenson residence.

Inside the bedroom, Treyton tossed a fur coat to Cedrick, instructing him to disguise himself with it.

To reduce the attention on them, Kieran and Treyton would bring Cedrick out of the villa through the

back door.

However, the news of them leaving the villa reached Yael before they reached the garage.

Yael immediately jumped to his feet. “Are you sure it’s them? Is it really Cedrick?”

The bodyguard replied respectfully, “Just now, three people walked out of the back door of Mr.

Cedrick’s villa. We confirmed that the two men amongst them were Mr. Kieran and Mr. Treyton from the

Harris family. The third person was supported by Mr. Treyton, wearing a mask and sunglasses. The

three of them walked very quickly, but from what I saw, the third person’s figure resembled Mr.

Cedrick’s.”

Yael was ecstatic. “Whatever! It must be Cedrick if Kieran and Treyton had personally brought him out

of the house! Contact Craig and inform him that Cedrick is out of the villa. As for Cedrick’s

whereabouts, his men should be the ones to find that out.”

About fifteen minutes later, Kieran braved the snowstorm and drove to the laboratory at the fastest

speed possible.

Joshua had not gotten off work yet, so he swiftly performed a blood test on Cedrick.

When the test results came out, Kieran stared at the lab report in his hand emotionlessly.

Frightened by his solemn expression, Treyton queried, “Kieran, say something. What are Cedrick’s test

results?”

Cedrick sat quietly on the bed. He was also waiting for Kieran to say something.

Kieran looked at the lab report intently and only spoke in an indifferent tone after a few long moments

had passed. “The medication I prescribed to him in the past few days worked. The speed at which the

virus is spreading has decreased. However, I need to take a scan of his brain.”

“This is obviously good news. Kieran, when are you going to have more expressions on your face?”

Treyton jested,

Instead of responding to his younger brother, Kieran went out to look for Joshua to have the latter

arrange a brain scan for Cedrick,

Meanwhile, Treyton shook his head resignedly at Kieran’s indifferent demeanor. “I really don’t know

which woman can make you drop your aloofness.”

Kieran, who had just walked out of the room, heard every word clearly, and his steps faltered slightly.

There had been a persistent girl who kept confessing her feelings for him in the past six months.

However,

he had not seen her for almost a week because of Cedrick’s condition.

Kieran lowered his gaze, and his eyes turned cold. Soon, he put his thoughts away and strode

forward.

After another half an hour, Kieran returned with Cedrick’s CT scan.

“The reason he lost his sight is that the blue serum lost its effectiveness, which accelerated the spread

of the virus and thus led to the growth of a tumor in his brain. The tumor is pressing on his central

nervous system.”

“A brain tumor?”

Treyton was taken aback. Although he was not knowledgeable in medicine, he knew that having a

tumor could not be anything good.

He instinctively glanced at Cedrick, who was on the hospital bed.

The latter’s head was lowered, and he was blinking emotionlessly.

At that moment, Kieran elaborated, “It’s a small benign tumor that can be surgically removed. With

postoperative medication, his eyes will basically recover.”

After listening to his words carefully, Treyton breathed a sigh of relief. “Kieran, could you say everything

at once next time? You scared me!”

That was the best outcome for Cedrick. It was then that he finally smiled. “It seems like doctors enjoy,

scaring their patients.”

Kieran ignored their banter. Standing before the bedside table, he organized Cedrick’s test results and

said flatly, “I suggest doing the surgery as soon as possible. Send him to Grand Valley Hospital

tomorrow afternoon. I’ll go there in advance to make the preparations so that the surgery can be

conducted secretly.”

Treyton nodded. “Okay.”

When they came out of the laboratory, it was already close to ten at night.

The snow was getting heavier. Kieran held an umbrella to shield them from the show and wind as

Treyton supported Cedrick.

The three hurried toward the open parking lot outside the laboratory.

With a whoosh, a snowball flew from behind. It was aimed at the back of Cedrick’s head.

Kieran, who had sharp senses, perceived the snowball and used his black umbrella to block it in time.

“Who is it? How dare you try to attack from behind? Are you looking for death?” Treyton bellowed.

There was a sharp look in his narrowed eyes, and his deep voice carried a strong murderous aura.

A couple walked out from behind a black van.

The woman ran over and said apologetically, “I’m sorry. We were having a snowball fight just now and

accidentally hit you. Is he all right?”

As she spoke, she walked tentatively toward Cedrick.

Treyton did not believe her words and sneered. “This is right outside the laboratory. Having a snowball

fight here late at night? Who are you trying to fool?”
