Chapter 435

Nathan frowned, and there was a fierce stare in his eyes. He glared at Grace and was very upset with

what Grace had said to him, and she even showed no signs of apology nor giving in.

Queenie also cried out worriedly in a low voice. "He's a patient, Grace."

"I know," said Grace lightly while looking at Chief Stone. "If a person relies on his illness and his

misfortune to be doted on by everyone, I think it's really unfair. It's unfair to the people around him.

There's a limit for everything in this world, including empathy."

"Heinz is a good man and he has done his best for the two elders of the Lawson family. Tell me, is

there another man who can do this? Try putting yourself in his shoes. Can you two and Chief Stone do

this?" None of them spoke; apparently, they were shocked by her words.

Nathan was also stunned, as if he had been hit. At that moment, Heinz arrived at the door. When he

arrived, he happened to hear what she had said.

He stood at the door at once and was very surprised. The bodyguard lowered his voice and said,

"President, don't rush in. Miss Smith can do it. I think she has the upper hand.” However, Heinz had an

unspeakable feeling in his heart.

Because she was defending him, the guilt and sadness in his heart were overflowing. After finding out

the truth, she still stood by his side. What the hell was going on?

Inside the room.

Grace faced Chief Stone. Her words were directed to her, and also to Nathan and Pearly. Seeing that

they did not speak, Grace said again, "Excessive love will eventually turn into hatred. If you demand

limitless empathy, it will not end well."

"Who are you to teach me a lesson?" Nathan was upset and angered. He stared at Grace angrily.

Grace, in contrast, was not mad. She just stared at him and said with a smile, "Yes I am not qualified to

say anything to you. I just feel sorry for Heinz. After he came home last night, he was very tired, and I

could see that he was really keeping all of it in. The more demanding you are, the more exhausted

Heinz is. You are justifying your actions by bringing up his past relationship with Jodie."

"Do you want him to feel drained and have no more feelings for your daughter in this life? Do you want

it to end this way?" she continued. Nathan opened his mouth to speak. Perhaps Grace's words were

too direct, he swallowed his words in discomfort.

Grace did not give him a chance to speak and said calmly, "I know what I said is not very pleasant to

the ear, but I think, at least for now, and perhaps for the rest of my life, your daughter has had and will

always have a place in Heinz's heart. I do not mind his past, because it is his past and I can't ever be a

part of that.

I do not have the right to make any requests too. However, I can also feel his respect, care, and

support for you due to his sense of responsibility.

This does not mean that you can treat him so poorly again and again though. Mr. Lawson, I think you

should know where to draw the line. It would be easier if you take a step back after venting your

emotions."

"If you are worried that my existence may affect Heinz's treatment of you, you really do not have to. I

will not stop him, and I also hope that he will take care of you and do his best for you two in the future."

"How can you be so magnanimous?" Nathan obviously didn't believe it, so his words were naturally

impolite.

She smiled and said, "It's not that I'm magnanimous, it’s just that I don't have to care about it." Jodienovelbin

was dead and there was no need to think about what had happened in the past. There was no conflict

at all. It would be too much to fight with a woman who had suffered an unfortunate death.

"I don't believe it," Nathan still snorted.

Grace could not help but smile, "Why should I make a fuss about it? If I'm fussing over things with old

people like you, I might as well take a break."

"Mr. Lawson, let's reach an agreement. If you treat Heinz better, I can also promise to make sure he

treats you well. If you don't mind me, I can even visit you and be your friend." Nathan pouted, but he

did not speak, as if he had lost his strength after being said well.

Pearlyn did not speak. She was staring at Grace with tears welling up in her eyes. She sighed. "Miss

Smith, what you said is right. We are being too much. We are really making things difficult for Heinz."

She looked at her carefully and said.

Pearlyn sighed and said, "Think about it. My daughter is gone. I don't care about anything else. But

even if my daughter was alive, she may not be able to treat us as well as Heinz does. We should be

satisfied with what we have now." Looking at her, Grace felt a little sorry.

"Auntie, what I said just now may be a little harsh." "It's alright," Pearlyn shook her head and gave a

wry smile. "It's Nathan who is too insensitive, but it's all right. We are really relieved now. We know you.

Miss Smith, you are a girl with courage and a kind heart. It's really good." Pearlyn said gracefully. She

sat on the hospital bed, looked at Grace and smiled apologetically. Grace also smiled in return.

Pearlyn looked at Nathan. "Hey, you should let him go. We have made an agreement that we hope that

Heinz can find a woman who understands him well and spend the rest of his life with her. We have

found her, isn't it a good thing?"

Nathan was a little embarrassed and snorted. "Who knows if she truly loves Heinz or not?" "She's into

Heinz, not you. What are you worried about?"

Pearlyn retorted. "Humph!" Nathan also argued, "She's eloquent. I think even Heinz is no match for

her."

"Cousin-in-law, what does this have to do with you?" Chief Stone couldn't stand it anymore. "You don't

have to worry so much. Don't mention the past. I am really sorry towards Heinz that I arranged this

appointment today."

"Let's make peace with each other," Grace looked at Nathan, then walked over and squatted down

beside the bed, looking at the stubborn old man who was always proud. Even in his declining years, he

still cared about his pride.

She could understand Heinz's mood, and she could not be mad at that old man too. Nathan frowned

when he saw her squatting by the bed and smiling at himself. He couldn't help but ask, "Are you a

fool?"

Grace was stunned, but she still smiled. "I think I am normal, I don't think I am a fool." "You are

abnormal," Nathan glanced at her. "If it were other women who knew that we were being this mad, they

would have already gotten mad. However, you tried to make peace with us. You either have a hidden

agenda or you are just stupid."
