Chapter 355

Heinz was still very slow; he took a long time to peel one shallot. He recalled watching Grace peel the

shallots and it had not seemed very difficult.

Finally, he was done with one. He looked that the others and realized that they each already had four

peeled shallots in their hands.

Heinz was slightly stunned. He exclaimed in surprise, "You guys have peeled so many already?"

Lester glanced at him and nodded. They didn't have the nerve to do it too fast because they all noticed

that the president's movement was really slow.

Therefore, without speaking, they all agreed to match his slow speed.

But even so, they had peeled several shallots whereas the president was barely done with one.

Heinz looked at his silent company. The way they were staring back at him made him feel like a fool.

He was at a loss and asked, "How can you guys be so fast? Why am I so slow?"

Lester smiled awkwardly and answered, "President, don't worry. We've all done some house chores

before. This is your first time doing it. It's normal that you'll be a little slower."

"So, you've done housework before?" Heinz looked at Lester and asked again in surprise.

Lester nodded and said, "Yes, I have also done some house chores before."

"Alex, you too?" Heinz looked at Alex and repeated his question.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, President. I've been helping my mother to cook since I was five."

Heinz was completely stunned.

The next second, he looked at the butler.

The butler looked at him with pity in his eyes. He looked at Heinz and said, "President, you were born

with a silver spoon, so you didn't need to do housework. It's alright since there were people who took

care of you at home. However, we are not as blessed as you are, we have suffered a lot."

"Even if there's no suffering, I still want to learn. I'm going to learn now," said Heinz. Picking up the

second shallot, he continued, "You guys don't have to do it anymore. I'll do it myself."

"But, Sir." the butler looked at Heinz and asked in surprise, "President, what are you going to do with so

many shallots? We can't eat them all."

"I'm learning how to peel them," Heinz said grumpily. "Can't I?"

The butler shook his head and said, "Yes, you can. It's just that there's no need to put yourself in such

a situation. I don't think it's necessary for you to do this. Besides, you're not peeling the shallot either."

"If I'm not peeling it, then what was I doing?" Heinz raised his eyes to look at him.

"You're embroidering. It's easy to peel the spring onion. But it took you so long to even peel one," the

butler said straightforwardly. He looked at Heinz and asked, "Why do you have to do that?"

Heinz frowned and didn't say anything for a long time.

The butler continued, "You were not born to do such a chore, and you won't find pleasure in doing

these things. Therefore, it's better if you use your time to make money. Please stop doing this."

Heinz looked at the three of them in shock.

Lester also nodded in agreement and said, "President, you really don't have to do this. You're a man of

many talents, it would be a waste of your time."

Heinz was stunned and asked, "How can you say that I'm wasting my time by doing this?"

He did this so that he could impress Grace. Everyone wanted to be able to do everything, be it work or

family chores. Heinz wanted to be good at everything too.

He realized that family chores were his weakness. It was not wrong for him to practice it.

"President, you are a person who makes a fortune. You should spend your time working in the

company. Why do you have to come here and make yourself suffer?" The butler asked again.

Heinz looked at them and ignored their questions. He said, "Stop trying to dissuade me. Do you know

how to remove shrimp veins?"

"Shrimp veins?" Lester asked in surprise, "Why are you asking this?"

"Yeah, President, why are you asking this?" The butler echoed in confusion.

"Leave!" Annoyed, Heinz pointed at the door and ordered, "All of you go out now and stop disturbing

me."

"President!" Alex protested.

"Get out of here, all of you," Heinz found himself in an irritable mood. He did not want to talk to them.

He could not waste any more time.

There were plenty of shrimps and a bundle of shallots. At his speed, he would have to stay up past

midnight to be done with them.

He had to hurry up.

Lester, Alex, and the butler were all driven out.

After they left the kitchen, they whispered amongst themselves.

"What is he doing?" asked the butler. Looking at Lester and Alex, he said, "You two have been

following the president for a long time. You must know the reason. What's wrong with him?"

"Was he provoked back at Miss Smith's house?" Lester looked at Alex and asked.

Alex was about to cry as he said, "Brother Lester, I didn't follow him into the house. How would I

know?"

Lester also sighed, "The president must have been provoked."

He then took out the phone, snapped a picture and sent it to Grace.

At this time, Grace had just cleaned up and was ready to rest. However, her phone chimed. She

glanced at it and found that it was Lester's number, and there was a photo attached to the message.

She opened it and saw Heinz was sitting on a small stool. He seemed like he was peeling shallots in

the kitchen.

"Pff -" Seeing this photo, Grace couldn't help but laugh.

It was a funny sight to see his tall body sitting on the tiny stool. He had a shallot in his hand while therenovelbin

was a big bundle of it next to him.

Oh my God, what was he doing?

After a little while, the phone rang.

It was Lester.

Grace composed herself and stopped smiling. When she calmed down, she answered the phone and

said, "Good evening, Lester."

"Miss Smith," Lester's voice was very low. "Have you seen the photo?"

"I just saw it," Grace said. "What's wrong?"

"Miss Smith, did you not see the picture?" asked Lester in surprise. Then, he said, "The president is

peeling shallots."

"I saw it," Grace said again. "What’s wrong with that?"

"H-he asked me to buy some shallots and shrimps when he was at your house. He has been doing this

since he returned. Do you think the president was provoked?"Lester asked.

Grace was stunned as she recalled Heinz's blundering in the kitchen. She was shocked. Had he really

left in a hurry just to learn to peel shallots and extract shrimp veins?

"Maybe he was provoked because he couldn't do it," Grace answered.

"Then, what should we do? He didn't sleep last night and probably won't go to bed today. By the time

he finished peeling the shallots, it would be late at night," Lester said worriedly.

"Ask him to rest then," Grace said matter-of-factly.

"I wouldn't have called you if he would listen to me," Lester said helplessly. "Miss Smith, please be

merciful. Give him a call and ask him to take a rest."

Grace thought for a moment and said, "Aren't you afraid that he'll blame you for telling this to me if I call

him?"

Lester was stunned for quite some time.

"You know what," said Grace. "Just let him have a go at kitchen work. Maybe after this, he'll learn to

respect the workers."

"Ah!" Lester exclaimed.

"Alright, that's settled. I have my own matters to attend to now," Grace said and hung up the phone.
