Chapter 1811

Ernest was flummoxed momentarily before he broke into laughter. It seemed that Zayne had become more sharp- witted and mature than before. He could easily see through Ernest's intention.

Therefore, Ernest would not try to sound him out anymore. He chuckled and said, "Uncle, I guess you haven't had your breakfast yet. Do you want tocome in and join us?"

Zayne shook his head while replying, "No need. Go in and enjoy yourselves. I'm leaving.”

Perceiving that Zayne was determined to leave, Ernest did not try to persuade him to stay.

Soon, Zayne got into his car and drove away.

From beginning to the end, it seemed like he didn't look at the little girl through the glass window at all

Meanwhile, in the seat behind the glass window of the cafe, the two girls were intently watching as Zayne drove away.A flash of loneliness flitted across Essie's eyes, then she took a long deep breath and exhaled.

Leah could not help but to sympathize with her when she detected the subtle loneliness in her eyes.

Leah really felt that if Zayne kept giving her the cold shoulder, it would be very difficult for Essie to persist. At least, Leah would not have suchcourage if she was to be Essie, but Essie seemed to have gotten over it in a tick.

Essie looked back at Leah, smiled and said, "Oh. he's gone, but I didn't expect him to come in and say hello to you guys. It really surprised me.""Why did he suddenly appear here?" Leah asked curiously.

Essie shook her head, and her eyes widened in confusion. "I don't know, I also wonder why he suddenly appeared here, but I've been bumping intohim quite frequently.”

"Have you been bumping into him frequently?” Leah could not help but to feel confounded

"Yeah." Essie nodded again, smiled awkwardly and replied, "However, most of the time, the encounters are planned by me on purpose, as I wouldoften follow him, keep a close eye on him to look for the opportunities of getting close to him. Anyway, I like and care very much about eachencounter. I’m going to look for him after this and bring him some breakfast.”

With that, Essie grinned bashfully, as though she was a little embarrassed.Leah also beamed at her. "So, that's the case.”At the same time, Ernest walked back and sat down. The waitress had already served all the food.

The three of them had their breakfast together and took photos. After exchanging their contact information, Essie packed a set of exquisitelookingbreakfast. including a pancake, a waffle and a toast to send it to Zayne.

Watching as she left. Ernest and Leah exchanged a look before they burst into chortle.

Later on, Leah got in the car and said emotionally, "I didn't expect that there would be so many relatives in your family. It turns out that you have sucha young uncle. Do you have other young uncles?"

"To be precise, I have two other uncles who are quite young, one of which is the younger brother of the one we met just now, but this uncle of mine isnot very close to us. He is slightly withdrawn and self-contained."

Ernest was delighted that Leah actually took the initiative to inquire about his family members. It gladdened his heart because it signified her intereststo get to know his family.

"What about the other one?” Leah tilted her head and looked at him, once again being staggered by the fact that there were so many relatives in hisfamily.

"The other one is Lowell Jones, who is our senior by three years. To be exact, he is not only my maternal uncle, but also my paternal uncle, since hehas blood relation with both my parents.”

Leah blinked. As a matter of fact, she had heard about that before.

Ernest was afraid that Leah could not grasp his point, hence he explained again seriously, “Actually, Lowell has the same father as my dad, andshares the same mother with my mom. With regard to this, the blood relationship is somewhat complicated."

Leah shook her head. "It sounds complicated, but there's nothing to be made a fuss about. I've heard about this before too. It's the lives of theprevious generation. I don't regard it as a big deal, but I think the existence of such an uncle has actually strengthened the bond between yourparents.”

It was the first time for Ernest to hear such comment. He had been fascinated by it. He threw a glance at Leah, and his eyes were full of magicalsparkles.

He knew that Leah was not a typical girl. thus she must be able to apprehend the complexity of the affair. It was rare for a person to view the kind of complicated family relationship with such serenity and sincerity."I'm glad you said so," Ernest replied with a smile.

"That's really my thoughts.” Leah said, "I think it's great. By the way, regarding the girl just now, Essie, do you think it's likely for her to end up beingwith your uncle?”

Recollecting Zayne's meaningful words when he was leaving, Ernest cracked a smile and answered, “It depends on fate, but I don't think UncleZayne is truly as indifferent as he appears to be. Perhaps if Essie persists, she can succeed in the end.”

Leah was taken aback. She stared at him agape while asking, "Did you come across any clues? Did you sense something when you saw him off?"

Ernest was always aware that Leah was brainy and quick-witted, but he didn't expect her to be so smart. She noticed that he had sensed somethingas soon as he said that, and he didn't hide it from her.

"Yes, but he’s a little older and reticent. I could barely read his emotions, and I can't remember exactly how it was like." Ernest said, "He's almost 35years old. I'm worried that Essie is too young for him. She's of the same age as us. Is she really a good match for him?"

Leah pouted as she had a differentopinion. “I dort find that a problem.Although heseems to be not thatyoung anymore, he's single, and he’salso a composed man. Perhaps.fislife isto peaceful that it has_~’become deadly dull. That's why itwillbe better to have a vivacious girlto spice up his life. Thenyit'll becomemore interesting." Ernest chuckled. "As a writer, you must have written and read too many stories involving an old husband and a young wife, haven't you?""I didn't really write much, but I've read a lot." Leah giggled. "Truly, I think it's not bad for them to be together. I would be pleased to see it."Ernest smiled as the car turned into the road. He said slowly, "Destiny will decide who will end up together."

"I feel the same." Leah gave a grin. "However, I also feel that if we have tried our best bravely, even if the outcome is not desirable, we won't regret itAt least, we have been fearless for the sake of love. Essie is very courageous. I hope she will succeed.”

"You look like you're not afraid of having an aunt-in-law of the same age as you." Ernest teased her

with a smile.

“Of course not. There's nothing to beafraid of. A same-aged aunt-in-lawsounds goodto me. Your mom isgoing to give birth soon, and so isMaria's room. Both of you are goingto havea sibling, who is about 20years younger than you, andawhoshares the same parents aS-you.H6w wonderfull At least, jfsuggeststhat the Jones family will havesuccessors in the next fewdecades." Ernest exclaimed, "This is really the most comforting words I've ever heard. You're so optimistic. It seems that I've been worrying too much.""Were you not optimistic before?" Leah asked.

"Not really, I used to have a mild distaste for it." Emest smiled. "Haven't I told you before?”

Leah laughed. "Yes, I've forgotten, but now, you feel all right. don’t you?"

I'm really happy to hear you say that,” Ernest spoke in a sincere tone

"Then let's pray together for Essie's successful pursuit of your uncle." Leah placed her palms together, as if she was praying to God.

Ernest let out a sigh. Leah treated everyone with all her heart.

The car soon arrived at Rowane's residence.

The two of them went downstairs together. Leah had even packed breakfast for Rowane

As soon as they arrived at the door, they heard a Woman's sharpscolding from inside. "You brazenlittle husgy! I knew you were a vamp, just like-your mother. Hearing Hogan's mother's rebuke, Leah instantly frowned. While holding the food, she was about to storm in.Ernest grabbed her to stop her from rushing in

Leah turned to look at him. Her expression of mystification was plain.

Ernest lowered his voice and said, "Wait for a while before going in."novelbin

He wanted to observe if Rowane had really changed. He had to be more careful because he wanted to see it clearly for himself if Rowane was usingLeah.
