Liam was shocked and asked, "What did you say?"

Maria answered in a firm tone. "I said, I'll go back with you. Let's book a ticket and leave now."

She did not want to see Liam caught in a difficult position, nor did she want Liam to go back aloneafter being in London for less than a day.

Therefore, Maria made the impulsive decision to accompany Liam back and stay there for a week.

Upon hearing that, Liam stared at Maria, a mixture of emotions going through his heart. She neverceased to surprise him.

However, after a while, Liam shook his head. "No, it's too far. Besides, traveling by plane is tiring.And you still have classes. You need to focus on your studies."

"To me, you're what matters the most." Maria held Liam's hand and looked at him with her big,shining eyes.

At that instant, Liam was greatly shocked.

He had found a girl who could warm his heart and make him feel loved. Even at his lowest point,she was still willing to make sacrifices for him, and she was considerate of him.

She was so decisive and serious when it came to him. She did not complain at all.

That made Liam feel both distressed and depressed.

He could not even give her a week of his time.

To be frank, he was not completely free to do whatever he wanted at the moment. When Liamthought of the position he was in, he felt really distressed.

Suddenly, his phone rang again.

Maria quickly picked up his phone and handed it to him. "Tell your assistant that you're going tobook a ticket home now. At the very least, you have to show them that you have a good attitude.Even though we know that they're making things difficult for you, you're still under contract. So, youhave to do as they as for now."

After listening to Maria's reasoning, Liam finally answered the phone.

After a slight hesitation, Liam said, "I'll book a ticket back now."

Liam did not put the call on speakerphone, so Maria could not hear what the other party said.However, she could roughly discern a complaining tone of voice.

After a while, Liam replied coldly, "I understand. I'll book the ticket now."

After he hung up the phone, neither of them spoke. Maria got up from the bed extended her arms.Although she was much smaller and thinner than him, she wanted to give him a warm hug.

Liam forced a smile. "Are you sure you want to go back with me?"

"Yes. I'll stay for a week, and then I'll come back," Maria replied softly.

"No, I can't let you fly back alone." Liam's expressions turned serious and he looked at Mariagravely. "You should stay in London and only come back during your winter break."

"No." Maria shook her head. "I want to go back with you."

Liam tried to dissuade her.

However, Maria insisted. She even batted her eyes coyly at him and begged, "Please, Liam. I wantto go back with you. Don't refuse me."

Seeing her act like a spoiled little girl, Liam did not have the heart to refuse her.

In the end, Liam gave in.

Maria left a message for the butler and headed for the airport with Liam.novelbin

Early the next morning, the two of them boarded a plane to Northern City.

The butler was shocked when he saw the message. He called Maria several times, but her phonewas turned off. Not daring to tell Zachary, he decided to wait until Maria landed before calling heragain.

After Maria and Liam landed, Maria got a call from the butler as soon as she turned on her phone.

"Oh, gosh, the call finally went through. Miss Maria, why did you leave? How am I going to explainthis to Mr. Lowe? I can't afford to bear the responsibility if anything happens to you. What am I goingto do?" the butler complained.

Maria got a little anxious. "Didn't I tell you? Don't tell my dad. You didn't tell my dad, did you?"

"No, but I've been pondering whether I should tell Mr. Lowe." From the butler's tone, it seemed likehe was really anxious. "I've been trying to reach you for a long time. I called and called, and youonly answered your phone now."

Maria heaved a sigh of relief. "It's good that you didn't tell him. Otherwise, I would have to go backalready. Don't worry, I'm safe. We can always call each other and keep in touch that way."

The butler still felt worried. "Miss Maria, I can stand your recklessness here in London, but howcould you suddenly go off just like that? Don't you

think that you're being too bold?"

Maria reassured him once again. "I told you not to worry. I'm safe. There are urgent things I need toattend to, so I can't go back for now. Try and understand my situation. This is the man I love themost. You must be able to understand that, right?"

"You almost gave me a heart attack," the butler said with a sigh.

"I have to go. Don't be so anxious. I'll continue to keep in touch with you. But you can't tell my dad,understand?"

"All right. This will be our little secret. Hey, who's the lucky guy?"

Maria smiled. She felt relieved after she had successfully persuaded the butler.

After she hung up, saw Liam looking at her the moment she raised her head. Her bright eyes filledwith emotions.

Maria smiled and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that? Come on, let's go back quickly."

The two of them got into the car that Liam had parked at the airport, and they went back to hisapartment.

When they arrived, Maria turned to Liam and said, "You should head to the company now so thatthey won't be too angry at you. Also, don't get on bad terms with them. Try to hold your temper. It'salso good to show some weakness sometimes."

Maria looked serious as she explained that to him. It was as if she was treating him as a child.

Liam smiled and said, "It feels like you are an artist's manager, telling them not to cause trouble."

"Is that so? Do I have that potential?" Maria laughed, looking particularly energetic.

"You do." Liam nodded seriously.

"Then, I'll be your manager in the future, okay?" Maria said.

"No. All you have to do is to believe in me. I'll give you a great life. It's best if you don't have to worktoo hard."

Maria was taken aback by his way of thinking.

Liam kissed her and continued, "Wait for me at home. I'll head to the company and buy some foodon the way back. I'll give you a set of keys, just in case you want to go out."

Liam took out the spare keys to the apartment and gave them to her. "Keep them with you at alltimes, even when you go back to London."

Maria was surprised. When she came back to her senses, she smiled happily and said, "Okay, I'lltake the keys."

Liam nodded and kissed Maria one more time before leaving.

As Maria held the keys that he had given her, she felt a warm fuzzy feeling in her heart.

This meant that Maria was qualified to live in Liam's house. He did not treat her as a guest. Mariathought to herself.

Maria felt somewhat gratified by his actions.

When Liam reached the company, he was severely scolded by his manager. He was so angry thathe felt the urge to retort, but he restrained himself.

He thought of Maria's advice and how she had followed him here from London. Therefore, no matterwhat his manager said, he did not fight back.

Perhaps it was because he did not retort that his manager stopped scolding him after a while.Finally, the manager said, "Okay, don't take it to heart. I'm not trying to make things difficult for you,but I'm sure you know how much pressure the company puts on me."

"I understand," Liam said lightly. "I know I'm not someone who has complete freedom to do what hewants. I'll make sure that I'm available whenever you need me in the future. Even if I don't have anyjob at hand, I'll still follow the company's instructions."

He did not show much emotion as he spoke, almost as if he was a puppet.

His manager looked at him and sighed. "Liam, don't worry too much. I've already tried to do what Ican, and I believe there will be results soon."

Liam merely regarded his words as a joke. His lips twitched as he thanked his manager.

Although he expressed his gratitude, he did not show much enthusiasm. Instead, it was just basiccourtesy.

His manager could tell that he was not that interested too.

He then told Liam, "Go back and have a rest first. In the future, you have to stay in Northern Cityand come in when the company asks you to. I'll try my best to help you when there's a chance."

Liam was then allowed to leave. Even though they had asked him to return, he knew that there wasabsolutely nothing for him to do. His company was deliberately making things difficult for him.

After leaving the building, he drove to the supermarket to buy some groceries before going home.

He was anxious to get home because someone was waiting for him.

The girl who was affectionate and loyal towards him. The girl who used her love to warm up his coldand lonely heart.

Liam was determined not to disappoint Maria anymore.
