Chapter 1569

Leah was silent as she watched the liquid from the drip slowly enter her body.

She seemed to be in deep thought, and Ernest asked her in a concerned voice. "What's wrong,Leah? What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing." Leah chuckled. "I just thought of something to do for the both of us!"

As she spoke, Leah gave Ernest a mysterious smile. This surprised Ernest. Something to do withboth him and Leah?

He smiled again and asked softly, "What's the matter? You'd better tell me right now."

"I plan to get female turtles for my turtles after I get better," Leah replied.

Ernest was shocked.

"Is that what you were thinking about?"

Leah nodded. "Yeah, what else could there be? What do you think?"

Ernest shook his head and laughed. "I don't get it, but why do you need to find mates for theturtles?" "It's animal nature. I think they're lonely, and since they're not mating with one another, thatmeans they're not gay. Time to find some ladies," Leah chuckled.

Ernest had no idea what to say. He found that Leah had a very strong imagination, and she caredabout such a tiny thing.

"Don't you think they might not want a lady friend?"

"That's impossible. All animals have the right to reproduce, and they seem old enough to do so. If Ifind turtles close to their age, they should be able to have kids in no time."

Ernest was rendered speechless once more, and he couldn't help but laugh at Leah's words.

It felt a little strange.

Was Leah trying to imply something to him?

"Don't laugh. I'm serious. I think it's time to get them a mate. Every time I sit next to their tank, I seethem glaring at me as they chew on their beans."

"They seem to be telling me that they're lonely, and that they're not willing to become gay turtles.Hence, they're mad at me for putting them together, and I feel guilty about that."

"Furthermore, the turtles have needs and they want to mate. I can't take away their right toreproduce. It's inhumane."

Ernest gave Leah a faint smile. "I think you're overthinking this. They're not as smart as they thinkyou are."

"No way!" Leah quickly shook her head. "Ernest, you're a gentleman, so you might not have anyneeds, but the turtles aren't like you. You can't assume that they're free of needs right? They havethe right to have sex, you know."

Ernest widened his eyes in surprise and rubbed his forehead. He couldn't help but burst out inlaughter.

He said, "Leah, are you trying to say something?"

"What do you mean?" Leah staunchly refused to admit to what Ernest said, and she played dumb."I'm not trying to say anything. I just want to find my turtles some girlfriends, but here you arechastising me for it."

Ernest smiled widely, and there was a discerning look in his eye. There was a strange emotionstirring in his heart as he looked at Leah's face.

Was she saying that he had no desires at all?

No, he was a normal man.

He was just thinking about his future, and he wouldn't rush into things.

Honestly, he was just observing.

On the other hand, Leah felt that Ernest was a smart man, and he had to know what she meant.

However, his expression remained unchanged.

Leah shrugged and teased, "You must've been a monk in your past life, Ernest."

Ernest was sure that Leah was indirectly referring to himself, and he smiled. "Leah, we are friends, aren't we? Tell me what's on your mind!"

In fact, he might actually say yes if Leah confessed to him right now!

Leah's heart skipped a beat before she smiled. "I'm being really direct here, Ernest. The turtlesneed girlfriends."

She tilted her head as she smiled and widened her eyes. Her gaze was mesmerizing, and her longeyelashes fluttered in the wind. Leah had very striking features, and she looked proud as she raisedher chin to look at Ernest.

Leah was smart and cheeky, and her lips were very alluring. They were very seductive as shesmiled.

It was a very attractive sight.

Ernest's eyes narrowed. "Okay, let's find them some girlfriends. You're right, they need someone tolove. I agree."

"Oh, you're actually agreeing with me?" Leah was shocked and nervous at the same time. She feltthat Ernest had realised what she was saying. Leah was saying that Ernest was like an old monk, free of any desire. He wouldn't even find a girlfriend.

"Of course, why would I agree? If you get better soon and I haven't left the country, then let's go tothe pet store and get a pair of female turtles."

"Mhmm." Leah nodded before she took a deep breath and said, "Hey, what if one of the turtles fallin love with both the girls?"

Ernest was rendered speechless once more and she had no idea how to reply to Leah.

"What I mean is, what if one of the guys falls for both girls? Or if one of the girls falls for both of theguys."

Ernest could only shake his head and laugh. He was dumbfounded by Leah's active imagination.

At the same time, he felt that Leah was extremely adorable. He couldn't stop looking at Leah with aloving look in his eyes.

Leah was really a very interesting girl.

"Okay. So, I'm going to split them up and get another tank. Each pair will have their own homes, sothere won't be any cheating, right? There won't be any mistakes." Leah blinked cutely at Ernest.

"Yep." Ernest chuckled, "You've thought of everything. I admire you very much."

"Lock and key, right? I'm sure that the turtles are just like us, right?"

Ernest nodded and said with a smile, "You're right. Also, I have something to say."

"What is it?"

"I'm not a monk. I'm just very careful about relationships." Ernest gave Leah a serious look and said,"I won't make a mistake just because I was too caught up in my feelings. If I do, that would beextremely irresponsible. If I make a move, then that means I've thought it through."

Leah was a little frightened by his gaze.

Her heart was also thumping wildly.

What did he mean?

She looked at his earnest expression with suspicion, and she had an inkling that he meant everyword.

"I'm not someone who is good to everyone." This was the limit of what Ernest was willing to say.

He hoped Leah would understand what he meant.novelbin

Leah quickly turned around and said with a smile, "That's settled then. I hope you're still aroundwhen I recover, and we can go and get the turtles together. You can get your turtle a girlfriend, and Ican do the same for mine. I hope they can make some little turtle babies soon."

Ernest was shocked that she didn't continue the topic and changed the topic instead. Did she notknow what he was saying?

He paused and said, "Okay, if I'm still here, then let's go together."

"Sure." Leah nodded.

The two of them fell silent.

Leah waited for a long time and said, "You're a good guy, Ernest. You're right. We shouldn't be toohasty. If we are, then we're just being reckless."
